Too bad our insurance coverage plans won't be as comprehensive as that you guys have in Canada. One the wannabes will never relinquish in favor of the crap we have.

I haven't researched all the details yet, but something's wrong.

In Canada universal insurance means a couple hundred bucks a month for a family even in the most expensive provinces like BC in order to cover everything, but in the States it's resulted in big premium boosts for most of the Americans I know.... changes like from $240 per month to $700 per month.

Why is that? How did the forces of evil unfold that way? The whole point of universal coverage is to level out the costs, so however the law is written, it's not doing that.

All I know from my cousins is they say the state Senator from Montana who originally pushed for it has gone on record saying it's a train wreck, and he's probably going to loose his seat over it.

Those trillions won't cover the operating deficit for a 2 year period... So, once you've run-off the educated and talented 'doers' - what then?

In the end, those trillions are legally sheltered overseas and they are there as a direct result of the punitive tax policies of the current WH.

.. Don't care if you like that reality or not, but keep whining; it may lead to a second #1 hit on the country charts

HAHAHAHA!!!! Laughable horse sh1t, buddy.:lol::lol:

I worked in the tax shelter unit of the IRS and that was 30 years ago. Obama wasn't anywhere near the political world in those days.

Try again.

And many others (such as in the links I have provided) show REDUCED costs and expanded coverage.

Depends on who you want to believe.

Wonderfull.

So do you give a ding-dong about your nation, or are you feeling like it's collapsing, therefore it's every man for himself such that you are justified as a republican to scoop whatever you can before it's all gone?

Where are you going to go?

China?

One thing I've never been able to find out.............are health insurance premiums in the U.S. tied to risk?

I don't know. I have ties to the US, and all I hear is well-off people freaking how their premiums trippled.

I have a selfish hateful cousin down there, and his rant is about how he's being asked to pay extra premiums for people who cannot be refused and who cannot afford it.

His premiums jumped from something in the three-hundred range to seven hundred per month.

Whatever they're doing down there, it's nothing like the rest of the industrial democracies.

For some reason I can't open the attachment, but I suspect what they have in the U.S. isn't insurance............insurance premiums are assessed according to risk but rather a coverage scheme assessed according to ability to pay, which there is probably nothing wrong with.

Not to worry, BHO is more upset about this than anyone; he even said so. We all know that when BHO is upset about something he makes it all better, just like he'll find and punish the perpetrators of Benghazi and get to the bottom of the IRS scandal and you can keep your doctor and your medical plan and your premiums will go down $2500 and we'll have the most transparent gubmint and unemployment won't go above 8% and this is the summer of recovery and.......

The insurance is tied to the present costs of the system, that and the gvt doesn't 'own' the facilities, infrastructure and equipment, nor do they have a payment structure that dictates the delivery costs (ie Doctors). Canada does control them and that has a strong influence on the costs

This is the reason that the US can't afford this program at this time. In the end, affordable healthcare is still a relative measure and the difference you see in premiums between Canada and the US is a function of the above

$450 million in a yet to be proven website for signups. Maybe this thing will just die a natural death due to lack of potential customers being unable to enroll?

I honestly don't know why the GOP helped shut down the government when they could simply allow ACA fail on it's own.

The govt. can't even get their sign up webpage to work.

It won't fail cuz the gubmint will continue to throw money at it.

You're right. On the radio they said just that last night. They will keep throwing money at it and say it is working. Their sheep will follow.

They cannot even get a simple sign up sheet to work... and they expect to manage a nations health care.

More and more folks enrolling every day - at LOWER cost, too! :)

A prime example is this guy.

Even though people can't enroll.... even though costs are going up they will have him to say it is fine and everyone loves it.

Even though both sides are saying it is a disaster they will always have people like Gopher.

Healthcare costs are about to explode

It's because before Obamacare, everyone who needed health services got them. That is the big joke. If you didn't have insurance, no money - you still could get treated. Now because Obamacare is "FREE", everyone is going to be showing up at doctors for the most trivial of reasons - they will overload the system. Nothing like a new government program to bring people out to take advantage of the FREE STUFF. Doctors offices will be clogged with people suffering from hang nails and the like. The docs are not going to get paid much for their services from those on Obamacare.
By the way, I went to sign up for Obamacare to see what the costs would be. I plugged in various numbers to see what requirements were for Medicaid or the Insurance Exchange. Here is one of the options that came up. FAmily of 5, making less than 87 thousand a year is NOT eligible for an Insurance Exchange (supposedly low premium Obamacare), but that family of 5 could go on Medicaid!!!!! I'm telling you "poor" in America has a new definition. Welfare for a family making 87k! That is outrageous!
Everyone will forget about the governement shutdown in another few weeks. This Obamacare is a disaster and there will be a revolt. The "poor" Americans have to get through our holidays - you know we have to buy that new Apple Ipad and Iphone, get the goose for Christmas, maybe buy a new car, collect our Medicaid services and then we revolt after January 1.

Can you tell us what type of work he does?

Anyone in the lower middle class and up is going to see their HC cost rise.
