I think we should take the gloves off and show them just what resolve we have, we don't
need torture but there would be one hell of a pile of bodies to deal with.

There usually is. If you compare body count the other side has lost way more. They keep coming though.

Palin was what made the election somewhat close, otherwise BHO would have won all 57 states.

ha! I'm pretty sure she lost it for McCain.

In response to today’s Torture Report condemning the CIA and Bush administration, Dick and Lynne Cheney have cheerfully released the season’s only pro-torture holiday card.

I think the likes of the bastards who blew up the W.T.C. deserve a little torture- their victims, direct and indirect endured enough of it!

What a joke. The left has their little knickers in a knot about a few terrorists getting their hair washed and having to sleep with the light on. What do they want, offer the terrorists a steak dinner? Better yet a pork roast. Except that is probably infringing on their religious rights. Meanwhile the parts of the world where torture is really performed are laughing their azzes off at the stupidity of the US.

Yes, like China. Those days of calling for China to improve its human rights record are over. #byebyecredibility

It's right when we do it.

It's bad to torture people.

Again, why do I have to explain Morality 101 to the rabid right? What is it with you guys that you hate freedom so much and love torture? This is why no one listens to you. Because you're nothing but this cauldron of fear and loathing looking for someone to spite.

LOL

You don't have to explain morality to the right..........we understand it just as well as the free-speech hating, despotic, baby-killing, anti-liberty, fake-raped, terrorist loving, kleptomaniacal left.......thank you very much.

Progressive icon of morality. Complete with sexual assault of her little sister and fake rape claims.

BTW, the greatest anti-torture voice in the American congress is John McCain, Republican senator.

Now, having completely trashed your off-the-cuff comment, let me say morality is a problem across the political spectrum. It is a human problem, not a political one.

Democrats’ CIA gambit backfires

I strongly suspect Senate Democrats did not anticipate the events that played out after the release of their much-criticized report on CIA interrogation tactics. Sure, the gory details dominated headlines and delighted the antiwar left, but then conservatives and some Democrats — and most telling, current and former CIA officials — struck back.

We have seen a parade of former CIA directors, deputy directors and even former senator Bob Kerrey (D-Neb.) blast release of the report and the shoddy attempt to pronounce upon the agency without interviewing those who knew the most. That story — condemn first and don’t ask questions because you might get an answer you don’t like — has resonated. All of this has cast the Democratic Party once again as the party that’s weak on (and unserious about) defense.

Even worse, the president won’t say (!) whether he agrees with his own handpicked CIA director, John Brennan, that the information gained through enhanced interrogation techniques was useful, and he won’t criticize or endorse the Senate Democrats. Now, there’s a resounding vote of no support for Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).

Some was over board, but sensory, sleep deprivation not an issue.
Have someone freeze to death, incompetence and shows the program was poorly run.
Arrest were made of many who were innocent of any crimes. That is a failure.

And any Western countries govt that did not know this was ongoing is shooting a line of BS.
My opinion is Intel was gained that led to arrests- drone attacks- interruption of funding.

Al Qaeda is now no where near the threat it posed in 911.
It has fragmented, look to ISIL, leadership decimated.
Somalia - Al Shabab on the run.
Mali, same thing.

These off shoots will spring up with a variety of names, allegiances, take them and their supporters out.
Those that provide funding, support in Canada, up to a life sentence.

I care not a whit how they gathered information.
Those that did not talk, after they upped the tactics, talked. Information was gleaned.
And I do not give a rat a-ss how they were provided nutrition, up their a-ss or down their throat, you are going to eat.

It's weird how many people are touchy about this. It's also quite naughty to fly planes into buildings killing 2800 people.

The methods used were extreme. That said, there are methods that can elicit information.
Many say no valuable information is gathered this way.
Myself, I differ on that.

And they are illegal. If governments want to do them fine, but make it legal and dont try to pretend they dont do it. At least be honest about it.

Define "a lot." Nearly all are. The couple who arent are not free and never will be and admitted to doing all of it without torture being needed.

However many relatives are left of the 2800 original victims.
