It depends on what you mean by conservative. If you mean a Bush-style conservative who is long on talk about social values, pork barreling to pet NGOs, big on foreign interventions like Iraq, fond of getting rid of regulatory and oversight bodies that lead to things like the economic meltdown and the BP blowout in the Gulf (thanks to no compliance inspections) and willing to implement TARP style bail-outs when Wall Street cries for them, then I disagree... but I know I am at odds with most hard line Republicans.
Bush is Republican but he was never a conservative.

Santorum is a nut case who will take his mythical bag of electoral miracles and fade
in the fifteen minute spotlight of history. I would rather tolerate Newt than this twit.
It matters not, the field of bobbing heads will not likely beat Obama anyway, and
we will need a miracle to survive if they do. A social conservative is the least desirable
leader to be at the helm in America.

Because of course everything in America is just peaches and cream under the present administration.

More from the nut case:
Reporting from Manchester, N.H.—
For the second time in as many days, Rick Santorum waded into the issue of gay marriage, suggesting it was so important for children to have both a father and mother that an imprisoned father was preferable to a same-sex parent.

Citing the work of one anti-poverty expert, Santorum said, "He found that even fathers in jail who had abandoned their kids were still better than no father at all to have in their children's lives."

I'm tired of the rhetoric and the baiting the media does too. Now I have restricted my TV time to the Learning. Science, NGS and a few other Channels that play some things I can grow from. All the GOP is doing right now is conducting a "Can You Top This?" entertainment program and this form of entertainment is not to my liking. One thing for sure, the GOP hasn't fielded a candidate yet that doesn't have a lot of baggage that goes with them. All I'm seeing is more of the Step 'n Fetchit" act coming in the next Presidential election.

It is looking like either the Reps are purposely presenting fruit loops so they will lose on purpose or they have been taken over by the fruit loops and it is what it is. Either way, Obama is in.

Is it too late for Canada to change continents?
According to their geography books, Canada isn't on the map. Everything above the 49th is blank. It's like we don't exist anyway, so they probably wouldn't notice if we moved. Could be a hell of a logistical problem to pull off though.

People like Rick and Newt and the rest of the Social Conservative Right are
almost as much of a threat as the Islamic Fundamentalists. They are
uncompromising and they are entrenched and socially dogmatic. There is
no room for compromise which is the key element for a democracy to function

Which describes the Bamster to a tee and is the main reason he's a one-termer.

If you don't like the states move.

I just called my brother, who happens to be a high school teacher is Brownsville, Texas, and he puts the lie to your bigotted words; their geo texts have as much info as texts here in Canada

Santorum is a chump.

He'll get wiped by Romney, who's at least a good liar.
About time Romney brought up the big guns.

Christie handles protesters Jersey-style

EXETER, New Hampshire (Reuters) - Mitt Romney might want to take a lesson from Chris Christie on how to handle protesters at his Republican presidential campaign events.
When a gaggle of protesters interrupted Romney's campaign rally speech at an Exeter high school, Romney declared politely that it was "really unfortunate" and urged his supporters to get loud and drown out his opponents' chants.
"I'm happy to have you guys express your views," Romney told them as he campaigned days before the New Hampshire primary. "Next time do it with more courtesy."
The protesters kept on shouting "Mitt kills jobs" and some were escorted out, but the shouts did not stop.
Then it was New Jersey Governor Christie's turn to address the overflow crowd jammed into the school gymnasium.
When a heckler yelled, "Christie kills jobs," Christie was ready with a response - New Jersey style.
"Really?" Christie replied. Something may go down tonight but it's not going to be jobs, sweetheart."
Christie, a potential vice presidential running mate should Romney win the Republican presidential nomination, has emerged as one of Romney's top surrogates on the campaign.
He deftly turned the protesters' complaints into criticism against Democratic President Barack Obama, who will face Romney or another Republican in next November's election.
Obama has "encouraged these people to be angry at Mitt and angry at me because we stand up for what we believe in," he said.
"Mr. President, you're up there in the family quarters of the White House, put your feet up and don't worry about it. Mitt Romney is going to bring people together," said Christie.
The crowd roared its approval.
"He handled them just the way I would expect him too, an intellectual beat-down," said Mike Gianino, 51, of Newton, New Hampshire. "I think Christie is just the right amount of punch."

Not according to a friend who lived in Pennsylvania. And your constant crapping on anybody who you perceive as liberal or democrat is far more bigoted than anything on these forums.

I would like to retract my statement for Walter's sake. Canada should not be the one to move continents. Cheers!

There was an old geezer named Walter
Who beat a dead horse 'bout its halter
"It's seems right me,"
He sang with some glee,
"It's damn liberal- quite a fault here!"

Geezus, another reddy. Alright, I retract my retraction.

You better contact your therapist right away. The damage done to your psyche must be enormous. Better deal with it before it becomes fatal.
