Hey, it got him the peace prize.

You know he is failing miserably when his supporters (like Gopher) can't actually defend anything he is doing and instead try and shift the focus to Congress, Bush or Limbaugh.

Right on Cannuck. All they want to do is keep bringing up Bush to deflect critisism of their annointed one...their god.

Boohoo Be very Afraid, the evil Republicans will be coming to take your souls. Be Very Very Afraid. Yes, we will suck out your minds thru your TV sets, wash them and convert you to our evil evil ways. Boohoo

Keep in mind that 48 out of 50 states are in financial trouble because of Obama and the evil twins Pelosi and Reid's so called restructuring staff.

I looked at that website ironsides, and it comes across as a far right website, a real Obama hater (and comparable to the trash that Walter puts up here). I wound’s put much faith in such articles.

May be Obama is beginning to look like Nixon and may he isn’t, but the article posted by you means nothing. That website will criticize Obama no matter what, it comes across as an Obama hating website.

Here is a ultra lefty response. Note the lefty solution at the end.

Obama and His Base: Disillusioned, Yet Again

It was the gnawing in his gut that gave it away, that creepy-crawly upset in the pre-dawn darkness. He turned himself to one side, then to the other, to absolutely no avail; the gnawing only got worse.
He was determined not to disturb her. (She'd been having the same problems herself lately, and the last thing she needed was another sleepless night.) So he lay there in silence and stared at the window, waiting -- it would be hours -- for the sky to turn pink.
He knew what it meant, the gnawing, the creepy-crawling -- he knew exactly what it meant. When Lenny Lefft's stomach goes haywire, Lenny Lefft's emotions are going haywire, too.

For those who can't wait.

"A Zantac for each of them, then down to the basement. It was time to dismantle the shrine."
Typical response.

Obama is losing his financial power base. There is obviously no morals with huffpost, so not much left for him.

''Minnesota have a Republican Governor? Hardly a Socialist state, is it? ''

Socialist only in so far as Republican governor Pawlenty forced the taxpayers of Hennepin county to pay for billionaire Carl Pohlad's new baseball stadium. Always remember that corporate welfare of the type Republicans give to the wealthy elite at taxpayer expense is a form of welfare as well.

The forum reich wingers continually kiss up Republican butts while attacking Obama. As always, they attack but offer no solution to the problems created by Republican Bush.

Recently, I came across President Roosevelt's assessment of the Republicans and the Depression they created in the 1930s. Remarkly it is every bit as relevant today:

While the USA had plenty of bounty - it went unused because, ''There is plenty in our doorstep, but a generous use of it languishes in the very sight of supply ... Because the rulers of the exchange of mankind's goods have 'failed through their own stubborness and their own incompetence, have admitted their failure, and have abdicated' ... They have no vision, and when there is no vision the people perish. The money changers have fled from their high seats in the temple of our civilization. There must be an end to a conduct in banking and in business which too often has given to a sacred trust the likeness of callous and selfish wrong doing.''

In other words the far right wealthy elites at that time, like today, failed because they were unregulated. We put too much trust in them. And they offered no solution to the mess they created.

Same as this forum.

The far right continually criticizes and attacks Obama. But they offer absolutely NOTHING in the way of meaningful solutions to the mess created by their fellow Republicans.

They expect Obama to come up with miracles in 8 months to correct 8 years of Republican incompetence and criticize him for failing to create those miracles. BUT WHERE WAS ALL THEIR CRITICISM OF BUSH DURING THE 8 YEARS IN WHICH HE CREATED THE MESS???

It will be recalled that initially they loved Bush's war on Iraq and Afghanistan. Eventually they stopped defending his war. However, they never gave even one solution to solving the mess their hero created.

Just what the hell do we do to end Bush's war?

How do we pay for it without increasing taxes?

The economy?

Instead of attacking Obama and thereby admitting to the utter sterility of your political philosophy, why not admit that you have no vision just like your precedecessors in the 1930s?

You can continue to expect more attacks and more criticism from the deluded far right. Their hatred for Obama and their butt wiping of Bush and Republicanism is proof that they have no vision for the betterment of society. This is precisely why Republican Congressional approval numbers are the lowest they have ever been.

Keep it up losers and those numbers will get even lower.

Gopher, I remember reading that it was the policies of Kelvin Coolidge (incidentally Reagan’s hero) and Hoover that led to depression, stock market crash etc.. FDR had to rescue the country and bring it out of the depression.

History is repeating itself here. It was the incompetence of the Republicans (who controlled presidency, Senate and House for six years when economic downturn struck) led to the current near depression. It remains to be seen of Obama can pull an FDR and rescue USA out of the near depression.

The U.S. House & Senate have voted themselves$4,700 and $5,300raises.

1.They voted to not give you a S.S. cost of living raise in 2010 and 2011.

2.Your Medicare premiums will go up $285.60 for the 2-years and
you will not get the 3% COLA: $660/yr. Your total 2-yr
loss and cost is
-$1,600 or -$3,200for husband and wife.

3.Over 2-yrs they each get $10,000

4.Do you feel SCREWED yet ?

5.Will they have your cost of drugs - doctor fees - local taxes - food, etc., increase?
NO WAY. They have a raise and better benefits. Why care about you? You never did anything about it in the past. You obviously are too stupid or don't care.

6.Do you really think that Nancy, Harry, Chris, Charlie, Barnie, et al, care about you? SEND THE MESSAGE-- You're FIRED.

IN 2010 YOU WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO GET RID OF THE SITTING CONGRESS:
Up to 1/3 OF THE SENATE, AND 100% OF THE HOUSE.

MAKE SURE YOU'RE STILL MAD IN NOVEMBER 2010 AND REMIND THEIR REPLACEMENTS NOT TO SCREW UP.

You referred to Republicans not offering a solution, I thought I offered a pretty good solution for 2010, vote out the Democrats. So have others, you have to read.

As did Miami Dade Country in Florida (Democrats)

having taxpayers pay for a new Dolphin Stadium. How that is socialist I have no idea, except that they convinced everyone that a new stadium would bring in more dollars to the county. If anyone has ever seen a Miami Dolphin baseball game, notice the present stadium is empty most of the time. (everytime they got a decent team and fans started filling the stadium, they sold the team) Only winner here were the owners. So the Republicans are not alone in screwing the people.

How can the Republicans ever hope to recover when the Extreme Left has caused the Joe average Republican to become more of a Joe Conservative and I don't mean religious, but political. The Republicans better get their act together if they expect to change even a light bulb by 2010. Wonder what a real Conservative goverment would be like?

Republican in NY House race suspends campaign

ALBANY, N.Y. – Fighting plunging support, Republican Dierdre Scozzafava abruptly suspended her campaign Saturday in the 23rd Congressional District special election that has exposed a rift among national factions of the party.
Campaign spokesman Matt Burns said Scozzafava thinks stepping aside is for the best of the party. He said Scozzafava is essentially withdrawing from the race, although her name will remain on Tuesday's ballot.

Predictably, not even the slightest offer of a solution to the problems created by Bush. All it does is to prove the hollowness and sterility of the forum far right buffoons. They offer nothing, because their addle minds are comprised of nothing.

Criticism and hate upon more criticism and hate only adds to the divisiveness and problems in society. The far right clearly has shown that it is in no position to bring any solution or any good to society. For them to criticize is far worse than the pot calling the kettle black. It shows that the hate and attacks are being done by mindless haters looking into a mirror and conferring that hate upon themselves. No wonder nobody takes these clowns seriously.

The approval numbers for Republicans is at an all time low. That is because these haters attack and hate but have demonstrated that the USA in their hands risks being a wasteland. A wasteland because the right wing outlook reflects nothing more than a means to a political dead end.

Too bad there are so many in the USA that are blind to this truth. Republicanism reflects political sterility. The Great Depression and the Great Recession are the inevitable results of Reaganomics and Hoovernomics. If Republicans ever win the White House and Congress again, America and the free world is doomed. And that is the truth whether anyone likes it or not.

So, criticism and hate adds to the divisiveness in society, which is why you're criticising the far right? And of course, I'm criticising you. Feel free to criticize me.

What you have seemed to have missed is that yes many Republicans are fed up with what has taken place within their party. No, they are not jumping over to the Democrats, they are becoming more conservative. Those people are still here, and will vote. We just might have a viable Conservative third party in 2010. It would be nice to have a real negotiator in the White House like President Reagan again.

I don’t see a viable third party in 2010, ironsides. In 2010, Republicans need do nothing. Indeed, they cannot really do much to decide their fortunes in 2010; it mostly depends upon the Democrats, how badly they screw up. If they screw up in a minor way (or not at all), they lose a few seats and keep the control of House and Senate. If they screw up in a major way, they lose control of both chambers.

But Republicans need do nothing except keep up with their current negative attitude (criticize everything and anything democrats want to do). However, that won’t be sufficient in 2012, then they will have to articulate a vision for the party and the country. And that is when the divisions within the party will become a big deal.

As to the New York election, the Conservative Party candidate is practically a Republican anyway, I assume he will be very much part of the Republican caucus (just as Socialist Bernie Sanders is part of the Democratic caucus). So if the Conservative candidate wins, in effect Republicans retain their seat.

But if Conservative Party candidate loses (as he may well might), that will be a huge black eye for the Republican Party.

No, I agree the Republicans can do nothing, but the people who usually vote Republican can put their vote any where they want, and right now it seems that the Conservative party will be the recipient of those votes. If the Conservative party candidate does lose, as you say, it won't look good for the Republicans that is for sure.
