AUSTRALIAN CARTOONS...NOT SEEN IN AMERICA

BELIEVE IT OR NOT --
THESE CARTOONS ARE FROM OUR FRIENDS
"DOWN UNDER".
WHY DO WE NEVER SEE SIMILAR IN USA PAPERS??

http://www.bob-dennis.net/index.html

What you seem to have in Bob Dennis is a typical member of the far right Republican base, ironsides. There are plenty of those in USA. Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin etc. I don’t understand why you say that there is nobody like him in USA. According to Bill Clinton, the ‘vast right wing conspiracy’ is very much alive and well.

There are probably thousands (or even millions) like Bob Dennis in USA (probably including many cartoonists). It is even possible that some far right website in USA may have published the cartoons in USA; perhaps you did not look hard enough.

Anyway, shouldn’t this Bob Dennis character pay more attention to the politics in his country? There is the Spawn of Devil in power in Australia (a center left party). When we visited Australia two years ago, we were told that the Labour Party (centre left party) was in power federally and in each and every state, a total sweep of power.

I would think that Dennis would spend some time trying to get back God’s rule (conservative rule) in his country, rather than wail and gnash his teeth about the spawn of the devil in USA.

I think CNN polls tend to be very accurate and objective, ironsides. In the last election, not only CNN predicted the correct margin of victory for Obama (7%), but they also predicted correctly the margin for victory in all the battleground states (Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Missouri, Indiana etc.).

Yes, when it comes to integrity, CNN beats them all

Any one starting to get bored with this endless back and forth battle between the American left and the right?seems every one has expressed their opinion,no one is changing their political stance and all the arguements are becoming rhetorical,I cant believe people are going to continue with the same enthusiasm or passion of their views for the next 4 to 8 years going on and on about what they percieve to be inadequacies in either the Presidents or the other parties policies. On most of the other forums i participate in i have stopped going to the political sections as they seem to just be rehashing the same old stuff over and over.
Maybe its just me getting older;-)

you may have a point, jambo. Perhaps it is time for moderators to close down this thread.

Not sure i'd close the thread but as time goes by i would imagine fewer and fewer people will participate as the political banter will become too predictable/boring in its repetitive content..

That would seem to be the case in most of the political discussions.

If CNN has a poll showing that majority of Americans support public option, I have no problem believing that. Not that public option will become a reality; the Senate committee just defeated the public option.

The public option has become a very vocal issue here, but the majority still do not want it. I am talking about those who have been attending town hall board meetings. I sat thru one a couple of weeks ago just to see what they were like. There were 5 people there pushing for the public option and about 65 or so who were either totally against it of afraid of what it would do to their health plans. The 5 pushing for the public option were the most vocal, but all in all everyone one was polite.

National Health care was just a dream to some during the election. How many politicians make promises promising you the world only to do nothing. But back to the basic cause of fear most have, and that is how can Congress vote this untried health plan into effect for us, while exempting themselves from having to use it. Baa Baa were just dumb sheet being lead to the slaughter house by the Academia snob's in office at the moment.

I have been away for a while, but it is great to see that there is one truth here on this phoney and philistine forum:

SirJosephPorter morphing into Archie Bunker.

No morphing required. His posts prove that he is a phoney, hypocritical RACIST.

Town halls were mostly attended by Republican base, ironsides. I think Democrats were right to ignore the Town halls. To listen to Town hall participants, Obama is a Nazi, a Fascist, a Communist, a Socialist, a Muslim terrorist and an illegal alien. These were the events where they drew Hitler’s’ moustache on Obama, carried posters showing Obama as an African witch doctor etc.

I think in summer the Republicans made a concerted effort to get out their base at the Town hall meeting and systematically proceeded to trash many meetings. Democrats are quite right to ignore them. And a few like Barney Franks gave as good as they got.

A conservative, probably an Archie Bunker type himself showed me morphing into Archie Bunker, I am honoured.

Just as if someone like Rev. Fred Phelps accused me of hating gays, I would be honored. That tells me that my views on homosexuality are just right. Same way, if a conservative (like you, who thinks that blacks are racist and stupid or others here) calls me a racist, I feel honoured, that tells me that my views on race are just right.
