And mine...

Welcome to the right side...I mean the dark side...I mean the left side...
I don't know what I mean. I'm on the same side and I bet most people
fighting here, if they took the same test, would be pretty close to each
other on the same side. 8O

Explain your willingness to insult libs or Dems but not the right wingers who use far worse names on all else.

I don't insult "libs or Dem". If I was living in the US, I would probably vote Democrat. Most Canadians are liberal. I am liberal.

I wonder what the results would be if we took a survey of those who are always fighting and insulting others. I bet we would find that most never went to Kindergarten and learned to play nice.

I didn’t take the survey, but I suspect that is where I would be, somewhere in that region. I consider myself to be libertarian left.

But one thing must be remembered about this survey. Looking at the website, I get the impression it probably is an American survey. In USA, the whole spectrum is skewed to the right. So what the survey considers left wing, we probably consider the centre.

I think that is why some of you may be surprised how far to the left you turned out to be. I expect most Canadians will turn out to be left wing according to this (American) survey.

It's also how those on the far left argue. This is what you and gopher can not comprehend. The radicals on the left and the radicals on the right use the exact same techniques. The reality is that you two are two of the biggest culprits on this forum. If you weren't actually doing that which you condemn, it wouldn't be as funny though.

Exactly Cannuck.

The shoe is on the other foot and they are squealing like hogs. I love it.

Here at any rate I agree with you. Obama does remind me of Tony Blair. Both are young, energetic, dynamic and charismatic politicians. Both came out of nowhere, first took their party by storm, and then took their country by storm. The fact that they are both liberal (Obama what passes for a liberal in USA) is an added bonus.

Blair was a highly successful politician; he won three majorities in a row. It remains to be seen how Obama fares.

How many just saw Obama's speech? He plans on tackling almost all the major problems at once. He might as well make it fast, like pulling a tooth. If it works and it looks like it might, we could be on a full recession turnaround this time next year.

I still do not like Democrats, Liberals or icky socialist's, but this will have to be a bipartisan effort.

Let me ask you if it really matters who turns the economy around ?

Would you rather lose everything and see the economy of North America fall to the worst depression ever or get back to a level basis that all can enjoy ?

Amazing what people would wish just for spite..

While some may wish he was not President, proof has yet to be delivered. Only then will the Supreme Court strip him from that title.

Something I highly doubt the Democratic Party would not have had the sense to check out first with the like of Hillary nipping at Obama's heal during the Primaries. I am sure they got all that checked out very well.

"Walter, imagine? Why imagine? Bush misspoke like that literally hundreds of times. My son (who is a Liberal), had a calendar with Bush quotes, 365 quotes, one for each day. This included his ‘misunderestimate’, ‘nucular’ and a whole bunch of other stuff."

Now your son - based on this great achivement of his, you must be inordinately proud of him - should get on this forum, on all the threads here and rejoice in the fact, 365 days a year, that when it comes to bumbling, misspeaking, dodging, spinning and prevericating George W. Bush was but a mere piker to his famous Daddy.

Keeping a score of real or mostly imagined stumbles of the tongue? You and your son, whom you appearently raised so well, are both suffering that most pathetic of human shortcomings: shaudenfraude. The apple really does not fall far from the tree.

Yukon Jack, it is not I or my son who is keeping a score. Some calendar company complied all the Bush misspeaks, put it in the calendar form and put it up for sale. Evidently they thought that there was a big enough market to make it worth their while.

But the main point is, they were able to collect 365 misspeaks by Bush, enough to put them on a calendar.

And as to my son, yes I am inordinately proud of him (even though I see little enough of him these days, since he started working in the hospital in his third year).
