Doesn't matter what you think to be honest...it was racist. Would you stand in front of a crowd of African-Americans and say...

"I think Michelle Obama is a role model for women in third world countries... She's as dark as they come!"

Hell NO you wouldn't! You KNOW I am right too! Why wouldn't you say that? Because it is racist and they would drag you off the stage.

Sure I would say that, EagleSmack. It is only your opinion that it is racist (and as I said before, what does a Republican know about racism anyway, most blacks don’t’ vote Republican, at least blacks think that racism is rampant in the Republican Party).

But here is where there is a big issue on the rampant racism within Liberalism and you are a prime example.

Yeah, right. That is why blacks overwhelmingly vote for liberals, very few of them vote for conservatives. Is that because blacks don’t understand that liberals are racist, they are that stupid?

Your thinking shows contempt for blacks, and really illustrates why Republicans have such a big problem with blacks.

But nobody is suppressing voting rights in the south.

They were, until Voting Rights Act came along.

Sure the Democrats tried to for years and called the dogs (literally) out on African-Americans as well as water cannons and batons. That is the Democrat Party!

That was the old Democratic Party. Those Democrats were really Republican at heart and now most of them have found a home in Republican Party. I say good riddance.

Now, that is a matter of opinion, isn’t it? - SJP

Nope – EagleSmack

Again, the day a Republican becomes an authority on racism (when Republicans routinely get less than 10% of black votes, liberal Democrats routinely get more than 90%) is the day Hell freezes over.

Have to admit, this surprised me.
AP: South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson shouted "You lie!" after Obama had talked about illegal immigrants.

Ironsides, South Carolina may be acquiring a bad reputation in USA, it may be regarded as a clown state, a joke. First there was (and still is) Mark Sanford, now Wilson.

Incidentally, i saw on CNN, Wilson's opponent has raised more than 200,000 $ in just one day, since Wilson made his famous remark.

You mean Florida has moved up in the rankings? S.C. has been embarrassing for the Republicans lately.

"Wilson said he going into the speech, he had serious concerns about illegal immigrants and coverage, based on what he'd seen."
"I knew that there had been two amendments by Republicans in the Ways and Means and Commerce committee that would have provided enforcement for verification of citizenship, and both of those amendments have been defeated by the Democrats."

"I'm don't think that maybe he knew what was in the bill," Wilson said. "I've read the bill. The bill does promote non coverage for illegal aliens except that there's no enforcement of it. The wording is incomplete."

See, this is where Canadian politics has it all over US politics. MPs yell insults at the PM (and everyone else) in the House of Commons every day. But they're smart enough to know the rules: you can't call someone a liar. You can, however, say things like, 'The Honourable Member wouldn't recognize the truth if it sat beside him every day at breakfast' and such.

Democrats heckled Bush, Republicans heckle Obama, whatever. They're just not as good at it as Canadians are.

But then again, Trudeau was famous for the 'fuddle duddle' comment. Now that's style - I doubt any US President ever told a representative to F off.

We've been through this before. I have offered Joey $500 dollars if he will walk up to a group of black youths and say that Michelle is a good role model for black women because she is as black as they come. $1000 if he video tapes it......no response as of yet.

What was funny was that a Democratic law maker was trying to justify not reading the bill before voting on it. He was actually mocking the idea of reading the bill!

He has a point, EagleSmack. I understand most of these bills are several hundred pages long, some more than 1000 pages long. Who has time to read that much.

And if you read a novel say 1000 pages long (much more interesting reading than a bill), are you really going to remember each and every detail, each and every nuance afterwards? No way. So reading such a long bill is a waste of time anyway, the senator will be lucky if he remembers 10% of what he read.

So it wouldn’t surprise me if most of them don’t read the bills they vote for. They have a team of staffers, team of associates who read the bill, go through it carefully and prepare a summary for the Senator or Congressman to read. I think that is a much more realistic approach.

So the Democratic law maker had a valid point. I assume most lawmakers, Democratic or Republican, don’t read the bills they vote on.

It's all in the approach.

If you came off like a dolt I'd jump you too.
