Obama's face has changed / aged significantly.

One cannot imagine the responsibility of the job. One , too, cannot imagine the dirty secrets one becomes aware of and the less than savory decisions they make on the basis of "politics".

then Obama had an uphill challenge due to the resistive, childish, uncooperative regressive right wing fanatics that are determined to keep the US in the dark ages when faith is more important than fact. Where fantasy is more critical than reality. Where selfishness and greed & lust for power over rule humanitarian principles.

No easy job indeed. Wonder if the so called perks are worth it. But politicians are a breed onto themselves. and have a unique mental orientation to the world.

Meanwhile we can't live with them and can't live without them.;-)

What a contrast in the before and after photos. Amazing images of what the stress of the presidency can do.

The second picture has to be photoshopped. The background, the tilt of Obama's head and his facial expression are identical to the first picture.
Sleepy already said that in post #3. It would take a lot of patience to put that many wrinkles in his face.

Obama's job has been made so much more difficult by the antagonistic ,uncooperative party first Neanderthal neocons who seem to resist just because they can. That mentality if let loose again......would set america back even further than it has regressed in the past decade.

***********

From CNN:

President Barack Obama has sent a letter to House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid requesting the opportunity to lay out his jobs plan before a joint session of Congress at 8 p.m. ET on September 7.

"It is my intention to lay out a series of bipartisan proposals that the Congress can take immediately to continue to rebuild the American economy by strengthening small businesses, helping Americans get back to work, and putting more money in the paychecks of the Middle Class and working Americans, while still reducing our deficit and getting our fiscal house in order," the president wrote. "It is our responsibility to find bipartisan solutions to help grow our economy, and if we are willing to put country before party, I am confident we can do just that."

************

That is what a reasonable, leader does as he tried to include all in the decision making process . He outlines the objectives , asks for cooperation and solid dialog. (something the RW repukes don't understand and don't want to . WHY?? Probably because it is threatening to have to actually talk to the subject rationally without individual bashing , name calling and just being childish & mostly really taking their responsiblity seriously for their COUNTRY ....... )

The repukes have almost ruined the nation.......and won't be happy until the destruction is complete. Their obstructionism is so unbelievably immature.........they should all be sent back to kindergarden to start their "development" all over again

Has any US prez in history have to deal with this kind of anal group of resistance??

Maybe if he had some true cooperation from the obstructionists, He would not be aging so fast. the job is hard enough as it is.

Maybe if the obstructionists has their country and the well being of its people as a priority as opposed to lusting for power and control things would run more smoothly.........and there would be fewer political crisis to deal with.

BTW: who cares if the photo was photoshopped?? All one has to do is see him live on the telie to see how he has changed physically.

(wonder if his smoking has increased since he took office .......as I suspect that is how he deals with stress.)

No... no other president has ever had to deal with being hated just because he's from the opposing party.

Hi Karrie

that is how I see it too. It is astonishing to watch this toxicity control the neanderthals :(no I have NO KIND WORDS for them as they have not earned them ).. to the point it interferes with the daily work that needs to be done.

Obama came in with objectives. Clear ones. OK.......things happen, things change, and objectives need to be modified accordingly . That is reality . But I have never seen that much childish resistance to change or to ANYTHING Obama presented.

The immature way the Health care proposal was handled is shameful . Is this supposed to be an example of a progressive country to the world??? That has become a laughing matter.

Do they not realize they are being laughed at ??? Forget respect. Not even on the radar.

I'm sorry Breezy.... you seem to have mistaken my sarcasm for agreement.

I know you're a rabid left winger, so let me explain...

All through the political history of virtually every country on earth, leaders have had to deal with having their agenda thwarted by opposing ideals. The fact that you support Obama's views has simply made you more aware (and apparently more insulting), of the whole process.

the whole process deserves more than insult. It warrants a complete overhaul.

So we differ in our views. Is that a problem for you?? I can handle it and still try to have a constructive discussion. It would be a travesty if everyone thought alike.

Have a nice day.

(and it is Ocean . Ocean Breeze or OB. Not what you said. Thanks. the devil is in the detail
