Difficult job and one that has far less power than most people think. Our Prime Minister has more power in Canada than the President has in the US. Stephen has been aging a fair bit too.

the whole process deserves more than insult. It warrants a complete overhaul.

So we differ in our views. Is that a problem for you?? I can handle it and still try to have a constructive discussion. It would be a travesty if everyone thought alike.

Have a nice day.

(and it is Ocean . Ocean Breeze or OB. Not what you said. Thanks. the devil is in the detail

Do we differ in our views? I doubt we do actually. I doubt my political view is a far cry from yours, and I view the American system (any political system really), as up for some overhaul. But, to sit and insult opposition to your ideas at every turn is, contrary to what you might think, not conducive to constructive discussion.

And my apologies for not picking the right side of your dual name nick to call you by. In the future, I will simply refer to you as OB, per your request.

thanks karrie. Appreciate that . as I appreciate your comments and feed back.

........ but back to the Prez job . It would take a special kind of person to even consider running for office. It is so unique in so many ways ........as a "job". You are elected as opposed to being hired. Qualifications are not really all that clear , nor are the requirements for the job. To begin with. Knowledge base has to be vast and the desire / ability to keep learning is imperative. No defined job description .

the plus of all this is that the person in the job has a fair amount of flexibilty and potential for creativity. The minus's are what we have seen as the USG tried to work its way throught the national debt issie , health issue . Dealing with RIGID , traditional , anal retentice fosselized individuals cannot be pleasant.

No... no other president has ever had to deal with being hated just because he's from the opposing party.

I think it is a little deeper than that, no other Democrat has ever tried changing us like President Obama, Pelosi and Reid have. He is not handling the economy to well either. Should have been concentrating on jobs almost as soon as he took office. He is also a divider, he created this vicious opposition he is facing. The Democratic party would do better replacing him in 2012.

"

OK......not saying one way or another but please explain HOW he did that. Are you blaming him for the repuke behavior?? Seems that they are as responsible for their actions as he is.

Heck.........bush alienated just about everyone . How is THAT constructive.?

Don't think it is that simple at all. Those that do hate him.....hate him for a variety of reasons. The pigmentation factor still plays be in the US....no matter how much genuine and positive progress has been made.

The repukes resist change and he came into office on the sail of promising 'change' He might have not been all that specific about the changes he intended.....but that was the theme.

Fossilized minds don't do change. such restrictive minds want to maintain the status quo as much as possible as change of anyking is too threatening to the.

He had many odds against him from the onset. Folks with attitude wanted him to fail.......so they could say : see , we were right.

There are many componants to this dynamic.

To start with, he came on the scean pushing a health care bill without anyone being able to explain exactly what was in it. Even Pelosi said lets get this passed quickly so we can see exactly what is in it. We the American people do not like being told what to do with a trust me I know what is best attitude. Since then he has just gone down hill, not learning from his first real experience with us.

Yes.....I recall that initial over enthusiasm that spelled novice leader in neon lights. and No, it was not handled as effectively as it could have been. Unfortunately those first steps at the job tend to determine a pattern of decision making .

No offense, but no one really likes being told what to do with the attitude you describe. Regardless of location. It is not an "american" trait. It is a human being trait;

In your view.........what do you think he handled effectively ???

thx.

His vacations and golf games. This president has no idea what to do, he is a puppet run by others.

LOL. Well, vacations and golf do require some talent and skill.;-) Not defending him one way or another , but it seems that most prez in recent history are "puppets" run by others. Most of them are run by certain agendas too. The military complex determines a fair bit about what the prez does too.

My observation is that he is too much of a people pleaser and that is not realistic. Because of that .....he allowed (not intentionally) the opposition to control him with their obstructionism. It is a delecate balance that a leader must maintain. One between gathering cooperation in a positive way and yet remain firm and decisive enough not to be walked over like a door mat.

Question of interest: In your view, who do you think made the finest leader/ Prez ???

I'm sorry Breezy.... you seem to have mistaken my sarcasm for agreement.

I know you're a rabid left winger, so let me explain...

All through the political history of virtually every country on earth, leaders have had to deal with having their agenda thwarted by opposing ideals. The fact that you support Obama's views has simply made you more aware (and apparently more insulting), of the whole process.

I cracked up reading this.

Breezy... why didn't I think of that? Too bad she has me on ignore.
