You don't think that the polls leading up to the election had any impact?
Sure they did but it wasn't ever about electing Trudeau. It was always about ousting Harper and Mulcair was really of little importance. Being vindictive has never won anything. So many either did not notice or did not care that it was Harper who kept this country afloat. He did things we didn't like and so will Trudeau!

Criticism is starting to inch its way into the media. At first all was glowing reports of Trudeau and the Liberals. The last couple of nights there's been criticism of the financial predictions, environmental plans, broken promises and the refugees health care screening.
Is the 'honeymoon' coming to an end already?

The first post-election poll is out, and it is a doozy.

Does a poll conducted four years before the next federal election mean a lot? No. Of course, it says nothing about the next election and, really, has no impact on where things stand today. But it is an indication of how Canadians are reacting to the new Liberal government. And before you say "It's only Forum", remember that Forum nailed the election results almost exactly.

Oh, and it marks the first salvo in what will undoubtedly be a barrage of Conservative leadership polling that we will see between now and the date that the next leader is actually chosen.

The poll gives the Liberals the support of 55% of Canadians, an enormous number that the Conservatives never managed in any poll throughout their tenure. My records only go back so far and are incomplete the earlier they go, but even back in the days of 2002 and 2003, when the Liberals faced a divided opposition and the coming Paul Martin juggernaut was poised to deliver Liberal rule for the rest of time, the party was only polling at around the 50% mark.

Not bad considering they only polled card carrying liberals.

Not very good at math are they? The total comes up somewhat shy of 100% Oh I know the rest of the population that didn't vote liberal was not asked.

I just think it's over eagerness myself, but hey I could be wrong.

And I'd like to take this opportunity to put in my Christmas request if I may. And this is addressed to all that use the term.

Could we be looking to find a replacement for salty soon? I just think it's seen it's day is all. No pressure, just give it some thought.

Can we also get rid/find replacement for Silly? Also well past its prime.

ETA: they could be added to the forums language filter.
