It's interesting. If Mark Steyn puts more effort into belittling Brigitte DePape, the more useless and irrelevant he makes her out to be. Eventually does she not get belittled to a point where she is too irrelevant to be even commented on? And yet in order to get to that point, the effort and attention must be expended. In a way, Mark Steyn mocking her and people like her makes her more important simply by spending so much time explaining how she isn't.

Well.....almost.

I certainly don't think Bridgette DePape is beneath contempt..........I do think what she did is beneath contempt.

Personally, I think the entire incident rated a roll of the eyes and a shake of the head......... Unfortunately the media frames the debate and they ran with it.

By the time Monday rolled around, she was famous for being famous, and the debate surrounding her action demanded comment........which hauls her directly into the firing line.

Which is exactly what she wanted, so I feel no sympathy when she gets shot up a bit..

She knows how to market herself that is for sure.

It will be awhile but you'll hear her name again someday in a big way.

That's the lesson I guess. When I first heard about this I thought it was silly because it wasn't the best way to get her message across, and so did some other people in this thread apparently. Turns out it was the perfect way to get her message across. She's all over the news now. Someone mentioned her message would have been heard better if she sent a letter to the editor (lol). But now she's the subject of editorials.

lol! It just gets funnier and funnier every passing hour. I have to say, Bridgette is certainly making monkeys out of Harper and the Conservative party.

First by being so young and seeing what destructive bastards Harper's regime is and secondly how she single handedly made Harper so afraid that he has ordered the revamping of security in Ottawa to protect him and those around him from criticism and little girls. lol

Ah, now there's a reasoned response.

Here's a retorical question for Depape's supporters. Would you feel the same if she had held up a sign that stated "STOP LAYTON" and she did not get fired?

There are 2 parts to this question.
1 - would it make a differrence if she got media attention for a sign that you do not agree with?
2 - do you consider it appropriate use of the accessability granted to her due to her job?

It is also a good example of how the left wing church of hate will bend and compromise their ethics and values

Who are you referring to?

Have you been napping?

I am referring to how easily and quickly the lefties come running to the defense and support of a chic that compromised her work ethics just because they happen to share her dislike for Harper.

One has to be "left" to realize Harper is a control freak? No wonder there's so many nutbars barking orders and whining because they're ignored

If you want to achieve extraordinary goals, you've gotta do extraordinary things.

if you want to achieve unethical leftwing agendas, then you have to support unethical left wing protests like Depape's?

good point. perhaps we should hold a poll, to see how many of the lemmings are left wing or not. I agree that would be much better than assuming.

Ethical is selling off Canada one resource and industry at a time....

well, we don't don't want the low wages that come from sweat shop manufacturing, and we don't want to implode back to an agricultural country, so I suggest that we had better darn well sell our resources or we will all be out of work.
