NOAA’s State of the Climate is a good place to check back on from time to time, as they post monthly, as well annual data, in friendly, readable form.
Per NOAA:
Warmer-than-average temperatures occurred during 2010 for most of the world’s surface. The warmest annual above-average temperatures occurred throughout the high latitude regions of the Northern Hemisphere, Canada, Alaska, the lower North Atlantic Ocean, the Middle East, eastern Europe, and northern Africa. Temperatures were notably cooler across the Southern oceans, most of the eastern Pacific Ocean, western Scandinavia, part of central Russia, and parts of Australia.
Note, red dots are warm ANOMALIES, blue dots are cold ANOMALIES – not indications of absolute temp. It means, “Was it warmer, or cooler, for the year, as compared to the average for 1971 – 2000? The continued polar amplification is obvious, but most of the planet seemed to be visibly warmer, in spite of the cooling
la nina, which is visible in the blue area off the west coast of South America.
