Oils dipping into the forty dollar range. The value of oil is as a weapon. It will also heat your home. I'm a fan of oil.
This way when we face an oncoming ice-age we can raise our fist and shout, 'This time we have fire bitch, bring it on.', . . and then the one lit match get's hit with somebodies exhale.

The results of this weapon have already sent Venicewaylins (FW) scrambling to China for aid money and arms.

It looks like it might be a very cold winter, so the war with oil policy and its low domestic price will be popular.

Oil prices are falling and the government is in trouble due to lost revenue.
Translation, we the government are guilty of poor planning because we put
all our eggs in one basket. In 2008 we saved you from nothing we were in a
position to make promises based on thin air because the economic cycle we
were in was a positive one. Now its election time and we're out of rabbits
to pull out of the hat. We tore a few holes in the social infrastructure that
means the poor and the elderly won't be as pleased and the list goes on,
I think the dissatisfaction level with this government may be on the rise.
I know one thing I will not be voting Conservative or Green so I have one of
two choices. No I have not made up my mind on which of the two I will vote
for

Vote for me I'll straighten this place out

Theoretically it could go to free, for a bit. Free oil would be an awesome weapon to use against the Ruskie Bolshavic pricks we have to destroy.
You should have tried napalm early in the morning if you are looking for a reason to get out of bed. Even with free oil the EU is going to be playing in Russia's sandbox. We have a contingency for that right?

I have already set my thermostat at 35C. Its tropical in the shed tonight.
Good girl, remember not to leave the beer outside to long between Sept and June. You going with ferns and high humidity or the desert region?

Russia and Europe are one chunk they know it and the bankers know it. Most Euopeans know it, the mechanics the plumbers the bakers and the candlel stick makers. They already know what happens in European wars, they don't need another. Uncle Sam and the puppet masters want one though. I think your spiritual revolution is unfolding in America and I think this winter will make it or brake it. It won't be the same world in the spring, but it never is, right.

That's Cliffys spiritual revolution.

The puppet masters always have a plan unfolding, good plans are a rarity for them and even if the climate is changing (cough, cough) they still have to finish what they started last century and having a plan 'b' for that is pretty unlikely given the magnitude of it. The US was never set to be the winner in the end, just like Hitler's dream of having a summer home next to them was also only just a dream for him.
With North America cast aside the EU and Mid east have some moves to play out. America taking the hit as being the dollar stops here bad guy might be plan be and instead of being 2nd in command like 'plan a' the we take on a more subdued role in 'plan b'. The example of what not to do on a civilized world is still better for us than 'plan a'

I think they mean billions lost for oil companies, though I doubt that. Gas prices have not fallen as much, because, we are told, the lower canadian dollar means its more expensive to buy the us gas. Ok I can see that. But if that is true, with an .85 cent dollar, if oil companies are selling oil at a 50$ us per barrel price, they are getting even more money, 50/.85 = 58.82. So, they sell gas at a more expensive rate to canadian consumers, an sell oil for a higher canadian converted amount. Yup they are making money. As for royalties, well, the govts will not get as much, but that's ok, they can decrease taxes to make up for the lost revenue.

Good luck on that bud

All we have to do is wait. There are special considerations in war and this is war. If the producers have to give it away they will or they will die. The war comes first before any other consideration. That war is where the real profit is. Already the food is weaponized as well. I don't think you are considering the finality of this war for the losers.

The price of a bbl spiked to $140 USD a few years back with no potential for major conflict.

Fact is, as long as the consumer is willing to pay whatever price is dictated, they will have to. Despite the horse sh*t about alternatives, there is nothing that can replace hydrocarbons now or in the near future.

Keep an eye on corp acquisitions of oil/reserves by foreign nationals in the NorAm resource space. That is the smart play by Aramco et al... Drive down the price, alter the economics and start buying-up NorAm production and control the market that way.
