The Republican presidential candidate, speaking in an interview with Fox News, said he "absolutely" believes Mr. Obama is responsible for high gas prices, contending that "he has not pursued policies that convince the world that America is going to become energy secure, energy independent."

Sounds about right!

About the same here.

Why should we feel so guilty?

I doubt he actually read the article so... I don't think he knows how to answer that other than the way he did.

Feel guilty? My farm input costs just dropped like a stone. I'll be able to buy another piece of equipment from mid west US manufacturers to become even more "green".

This is what I've been saying. Canadian will have more $ to buy other stuff and the gubmint will still get the same amount of tax just from other sources.

The Taxes have not been adjusted up there in Canada have they?

We still pay the same amount of tax per gallon whether it is $2.25 or $3.80

Long time coming after funding those mega projects huh? Just imagine how those Saudi bastards feel about not having the cash to convert to NG for electricity. They'll have to keep burning oil.

The House of Saud from what I've read are deliberately keeping the taps FULLY opened for two reasons...

1. To make Iran hurt.
2. To crush fracking (and frackers) in the US and Canada.

Now I could be wrong but wouldn't that mean that gas prices are going to have to settle in where they are now for a long long time?

$30/bbl is all we can afford, any more and doors would start closing. OPEC isn't doing this because they have too much money. Lower prices should make it a hiliday for customers, everybody is sitting at home as there is nothing to do, no decent way to get there. What if cutting back production is not an option with shale formations which need a vacuum in the hole rather than seamless tubing with only a few puncture marks to allow the product in.
