Oh what will the Republican Party do now.

Or laugh at.

No one is laughing at the National Front in France or Golden Dawn in Greece. Without the TP voters the Republicans have zero chance of electoral victory.

From what I have seen in the last few days the Republican Party might have
finally sobered up. They are now putting space between themselves and the
Tea Party. If the pass the latest budget cut proposal its over for the Tea Party
people. Obstruction is the prime cause of existence and now that appears to
be ending.

Here is a question you can't answer:

What groups would be part of a winning Republican political coalition without the TP voters?

The GOP is in serious trouble,

Oh... such serious trouble!

It is nothing short of a real
disaster for the Tea Party their sole purpose in life was to destroy Obama and he
beat them.

A disaster I say!

Face it the Republicans lost big time and now the GOP is going to
turn on itself.

O you can see how that happened last night.

Any bets Obama will chose immigration next? Nice divided issue.

Let's see if he wishes to further destroy his party.

I wonder if he'll wait till after the Louisiana run-off.

If the Republicans chose to stick to their original position all those
immigrant votes will be mobilized and it would be even worse for the
GOP because immigration is an emotional issue not a monetary one.

How did those mobilization efforts work last night?

This is just getting started.

Indeed it is but not in the way you wanted.

And Obama is right, Obamacare should
not be on the table period

But it was on the table and it will be again.

In conclusion DamnGrumpy. You know absolutely nothing about U.S Politics as I've said all along. You have no sense of the US Electorate. In fact... you have no sense of yourself because your views are so far from the views of the Democrats in the U.S. Your views are very much in line with U.S conservatives and the Tea Party though.

To be fair, he has an equally poor view of the Canadian electorate. He assumes because he and his friends complain about Harper, everybody must hate and despise him.

So after all the fuss, the Democrats still got exactly what they wanted.

And the Republican party now has their lowest approval rating in recorded history.

Democracy has prevailed.

Ahhhh... so glad I bookmarked this thread from a year ago knowing it would come in handy.

Yes... Democracy has indeed prevailed.

Yeah, Harper is far from perfect for sure and if there was a decent replacement in the midst, I'd vote for him/her, but so far in Canada there is no one even close!:)

Yes, the Tea Baggers are not having much fun nowadays:
How about today?

Tea Party popularity plummets

The liberal mouth pieces at MSNBC were popping brain cells last night.

"What happened!? Where did the Democrats go wrong!"

"Recent developments in Washington have clearly taken a toll on the Republican Party’s national standing. The GOP wasn’t popular before it shut down the government, but it’s in far worse shape now.

But it’s not just the party overall that’s suffering – support for a specific right-wing subset of the party is in free fall, too. The Pew Research Center published these results this afternoon.
The Tea Party is less popular than ever, with even many Republicans now viewing the movement negatively. Overall, nearly half of the public (49%) has an unfavorable opinion of the Tea Party, while 30% have a favorable opinion.

Warming.

Republicans have as their base corporate welfare queens who live off the government. But their numbers are smaller than the patriotic and hard working democratic majority of Americans. The new senator in New Jersey is a Democrat and a new member of Congress in Florida (from a Republican district) is a Democrat. These people won because Americans know it is the obstructionist Tea Baggers who are trying to disrupt and destroy America.

Doubly warming.

Hooray for democracy!

Hooray!

The Tea Party is
the big loser here and now they stand to be wiped out in the future.

The thread that just kept giving.

From October of last year...

{QUOTE=gopher;1814631]Things aren't looking up for Republicans as their popularity ratings are at their lowest in history.

But things are looking up for the Democrats:
As I said... the winds shall change.

House Democrats Break Fundraising Record in September

House Democrats Break Fundraising Record in September | At the Races

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced on Friday that it raised $8.4 million in September, a record monthly haul for the committee.
The fundraising haul brings the DCCC’s total cash on hand to $21.6 million, double the amount of cash it had at the same point last year, according to a DCCC aide.
The government shutdown fueled a large portion of the committee’s fundraising this cycle, per the aide. About $2 million of the record-breaking haul came from online donations following GOP Sen. Ted Cruz’s filibuster.
The National Republican Congressional Committee has not released its September fundraising tally yet, according to an aide.

Oh no! And just last night you were coming out against Big Money and the GOP outspending the Democrats. Yet a year ago you were all giddy about the Dems raking in all kinds of cash.

I saved this thread from a year ago knowing this would happen. It was sitting right there in my favorites list with all these juicy nuggets they left for me.

I can tell, just thought I'd be polite and ask.

Nice night last night. Did I hear correct and Mass is now a red state?

No not exactly. We have a Republican Governor but that is about it!

All US Congressmen and US Senators are Democrats.

Pretty much the whole state legislature is Democrat as well. But it has always been that way in my lifetime.

That's a shame, you can't win them all, but wow, you sure can leave a nice crater, lol.

Locally it was what I expected although I did not expect to get a Republican Governor.

Nationally I was cautiously optimistic and I saved this thread for this special date!
