There is a big difference between the kool-aid mantra of 'have and have not' vs the reality of have and have less.

Several posters have mentioned the glaring difference bewteen our wants and our needs.

We all know that most North Americans have it pretty good. Especially when compared with the rest of the world.

Sure, we complain a lot about too many choices at Starbucks, confusing paint sales at box stores, the kids hockey costs a lot, texting fees are gouging us, bottled water prices jumped again or we had to stand in line for the latest i-product. It's a rougher existence than the filthy rich bankers alright.

Less, but we still have one.

You 'need' more? Try wanting less.

You are missing the point. You make a lot of sense and it seems like a logical argument. Here's the problem: It's not about what we have or want. it's about how our overall pie is divied up. Martin Luther King Jr. said, "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." stating that things are not fair and that the pendulum has swung too far to the elite and too far away from the middle class isn't the same as being greedy and wanting more. It's about fairness and justice. simple as that.

The size of the pie is a result of an effort. Predetermining the outcome and hoping that the efforts in terms of the inputs will remain the same, is naive.

We all make choices in life and engage all kinds of trade-offs in the bargain. If, after the fact, you are unhappy with the choice that you made, then blaming 'the system' and vilifying other people that made better choices is the cowards solution.

Fiend attacks 'Occupy' protester in her tent

Wall Street protesters in Zuccotti Park battened down the hatches yesterday as the early October snow turned their tents into igloos, but the close quarters also made easy pickings for one predator.
A sex fiend barged into a woman’s tent and sexually assaulted her at around 6 a.m., said protesters, who chased him from the park.
“Pervert! Pervert! Get the f--k out!” said vigilante Occupiers, who never bothered to call the cops.
“They were shining flashlights in his face and yelling at him to leave,” said a woman who called herself Leslie, but refused to give her real name.

The question you have to ponder is would the pie that you want to cut differently be this big or indeed exist at all if not for the greed and/or drive of certain individuals. For many of the rich it is not so much greed but money is simply a means of keeping score. It just tells them that what they tried worked or failed. Not the same as the speculators that try and pull a few bucks out of the system with no input. These I view as not much different than B&E artists that would rather steal a stereo and fence it for $5 than work for $10.
The other thing I find some what ironic is the number of unionists that are protesting the greed yet their pension plans are a driving force behind the quest for ever higher returns. Another one is the Ontario Teachers pension plan that is or was a major shareholder in Timberwest. That is the company that worked hardest to destroy the IWA by shutting down their company logging operations and contracting the work to the lowest bidder, closed all their mills and export virtually all of the timber off their private lands on an unsustainable basis. But hey who cares about a few forestry workers in B.C. as long as the Ontario teachers get an exorbenant pension?

If you want to look at it honestly, these people have legitimate beef. Eevry year, the gap between haves and have nots grows. all of the blame for being unemployed or underemployed shouldn't be placed on the individual. As a society we have screwed up and let things get too far out of hand. There should be a balance that allows the individual a better chance in society than what we currently have. I won't make baseless accusations about people just not being on a gravy train so they complain. Some of that might be true but it's an overstatement to judge the entire movement as nut jobs or lazy useless people.

Now we are back to the core of the problem, our politicians. The new college graduates are expecting the same job opportunities we had, they don't even have the same choices. Communication major, lawyer, business language never mind the arts just won't cut it anymore. Those majors are just lucky to get a job paying $28,000 per year. We have to convince our children, grand children to get science, medical and other technical degrees. They will have to work a lot harder than we did to make the same money. Anything the government may do will not add any more dollars to the economy it is private industry must make jobs available in this country for anything to change.

The fun is just beginning, now we will see how we handle the problem as a nation.
In Tenn. and NY, locals thwart protesters' removal

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee's governor and his administration have twice sent state troopers to handcuff and haul away Occupy Nashville protesters camped out just steps away from the Capitol. And twice, a relatively obscure local official refused to throw them in jail.
In New York, Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo reportedly asked Albany's mayor last weekend to begin enforcing the 11 p.m. curfew at a park where the protesters have set up camp. Mayor Jerry Jennings declined.
Demonstrators are camping out in public parks in cities across the country, protesting against what they see as corporate greed and inequities in the American economy. Cities are dealing with the differently, some trying to work with protesters to leave peacefully, while others have sent in police to arrest them.
Under Tennessee state law, a judicial commissioner determines if there is probable cause that a crime has been committed. That official in this case has set the demonstrators free, despite Republican Gov. Bill Haslam's efforts.

The problem is not so much the amount of money as making the best use of the money we have. Many prices are set because the vendor knows he can get an absorbitant price. If people quit spending except for essentials for a couple of months watch prices drop like a rock.

Food prices is what is causing people to make choices as to what to pay either mortgage, rent or eat this month. Not much we can do about that. Luxury items like TV's are dropping in price but food keeps rising. My daughter is a registered nurse making $65,000 per year and still only breaks even (has 3 boys, single Mom). My wife and I just recently (about 8 months ago) started taking care of the oldest, it is expensive.

So if your brother is an azzhole... it means you don't care for him?
When I call you and bear an asshole do you feel 'the love', you shouldn't cause there isn't any, same deal when I call anybody else that. I suppose you have some similar words to describe your wife and kids, in or out of earshot.

So if one has a brother and his views are far different... it means you shouldn't care for him? My brother is a liberal and I care for him a lot.
So you do care about Scott Olsen a lot then, why be so cagey about admitting it then?

Do you have anymore "stupid" to add?
Last post for this topic and then it's back to the OWS event, since you don't read or watch any of the links there should be no need to reply.
Oh wait... I have one more thing to respond to!
About time, so do I, the Hess Angels were hired to 'police' the Rolling Stones concert, heading to the 'occupy' events seems to be something they are doing for free.

Yes I guess you did have more stupid to add.

Who "executed" Pat Tillman? That is assuming that you know the difference between negligence and and an execution.
Clearly you don't.

(in part)
* He was shot three times in the forehead at close range with an American M-16.
* This was after he was shot in the chest, legs and hand.
* And this was after he screamed to the “friendlies” that he was Pat Tillman and please stop shooting him.
* But they didn’t; they executed him.
* They were Americans.
* There wasn’t even an “enemy” around; not only was nobody shot by “enemy fire,” no equipment was shot by “enemy fire.”
* “Members of Tillman’s unit burned his body armor and uniform in an apparent attempt to hide the fact that he was killed by friendly fire.”
* Army medical examiners tried to get a criminal investigation opened, but they were shut down.
* The Army brass who conspired to shut down any criminal investigation into the U.S. assassination of Pat Tillman sent “congratulatory e-mails” to each other after shutting down the snoops.
* The Pentagon heavily promoted Tillman’s enlistment and service as both a recruitment tool and a domestic propaganda tool.
* The Pentagon maintained for long after his murder that Tillman died in combat, finally admitting to his family that “friendly fire” killed him — which wasn’t exactly true, either.
* Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Kauzlarich, who commanded Tillman’s base in Afghanistan at the time of his assassination, dismissed Tillman’s family’s attempts to find out what happened. Why? Because Pat Tillman was an atheist, like his family, so they were having “a hard time letting it go.”
* In his writings — Tillman wrote constantly in letters and diaries and e-mails — the NFL star who became an Army Ranger after 9/11 had concluded the Afghanistan War was fake and the Iraq War was a criminal setup.
* The Pentagon still has his diary that he kept with him in Afghanistan, where he was killed, and they won’t release it to his family.

Who Ordered the Execution of NFL/Army Hero Pat Tillman?

What a fruitcake. He simply is. That is why it is so important for guys like him to stay in this forum and post often. The more they post the better.
Since they removed the utensils used to 'provide life' (cooked food) and they did not substitute anything as a replacement then how are their bodies supposed to survive? Define life if this doesn't apply. Liberty is the right to protest against the Government and in the OWS case it is a protest by the lowest part of society seeing what little they has as a 'security' against starvation (basically) being eroded so the 1% can have even more, or at least guarantee don't lose the riches they already have.

Who Ordered the Execution of NFL/Army Hero Pat Tillman?

Coroners report says Pat Tillman was hit by a M-249 SAW (light machine gun) which uses 5.56MM ammunition. The same ammo that is used in an M-16. Do you have any clue on the rate of fire between an M-249 SAW and an M-16A2? Of course you don't.

PB&J would do just nicely! Since when does the body need Taragon free range Chicken with basil, and an organic tomato mozzarela salad to survive. If they need food they can apply for food stamps.

It is not the responsibility of the government to spoon feed liberals during temper tantrums. Even 1960's hippies know that.

Why should I know the inner workings of the Marines or any other branch of the American Military. No one left behind applies to all branches doesn't it? It was his own platoon that killed him so apparently that rule is only for the new recriots so the olderr corrupt ones don't get killed off in the same manor.

I watch many clips and read many articles about the Occupiers.

You forgot to supply the link, is there even one?
They don't even know the actual size.

The official Army autopsy report obtained by ESPN.com shows that, besides the three bullets in his forehead, Tillman had shrapnel in his left forearm and wrist. Asked by ESPN.com to review the autopsy's findings, renowned forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden suggests the three bullets that struck Tillman in the head came in rapid succession, and most likely were from the weapon of a single shooter. Documents from the Army's investigations indicate the wounds likely came from American 5.56 mm or 7.62 mm rounds.

"The first bullet that struck him in the head, he was dead," Dr. Baden told ESPN.com. "Then he was struck by two additional bullets, because of the rapid fire of the weapon that was used. He also may have been shot by other weapons in the arm and vest. This would indicate that … more than one person was firing at him."

No. Any other questions?
A ton but why waste the space and time. Just about done with the experiment to see how long this distraction from the issue of Scott Olsen will take. At least you have said he is the 1/10 that is a dick, think of the time you could have saved if you had said that right when I asked you if you supported him or not.

Did Scott say he was lending moral support and caring for the Navy Vet?

He can't speak after being shot in the head, Looks like moral support to me, no words needed.

The government removed forks spoons and knives? They removed hot food? The only people that denied food are the Occupiers themselves when they refused to feed the homeless.

I guess you did have more stupid to add.
I thought you said if you needed food to apply for food stamps, who issues those, the Gov. If that was the case then why are the homeless even in need of food in the first place? (if those stamps were available) Do you know that some places have even made it illegal to feed the homeless?

PB&J would do just nicely! Since when does the body need Taragon free range Chicken with basil, and an organic tomato mozzarela salad to survive. If they need food they can apply for food stamps.
If there is no obligation to supply food then why are prisoners given food?

It is not the responsibility of the government to spoon feed liberals during temper tantrums. Even 1960's hippies know that.
The same ones who protested until the Vietnam war was stopped? Seems the Gov is always willing to feed protesters rubber-coated bullets and tear-gas though. (especially in other Nations). Wonder how the 1% would be talking if the ammo was coming in their direction?

Hot meals provided by the government defines life?

Wow, you are desperate.
No the ones in the protests are the desperate ones, not that many care (here or in your Country, pretty easy to see why the International and domestic image of America is taking such a beating)

It is so much more than that and it is a good thing that people like you are not tasked to define what liberty is for the rest of us.
Like the duty and obligation to fire a Government that doesn't look out for the welfare of all of it's citizens, that sort of liberty or are you referencing the right of the 'elite' to dispose of the unwanted parts of their society? Stealing a loaf of bread got an Englishman a one-way ticket to Australia at one time, for example.

The Occupiers have a right to protest. But it is not the responsibility for the government to bring them hot meals dingbat.
Then it must be an attempt to make people leave the area, the same place you said they have a right to be.

It is the right or the people to seek those things, not for the government to provide.

Of the people, by the people, and for the people. Ever hear of that?
Since the protestors are part of the people why is there subservience methods being used against them rather than a a real investigation to their grievances. Unfortunately the investigation would be conducted by the very ones who are the 1%. (those making more than $250,000)

So they want special jobs, jobs that they want to do. Jobs to their suit and none other. They get out of college with a worthless degree and feel that the government should provide them with a job, or that the private sector should provide them with a job to their liking.
Like a jobs that they trained for because that is what the schools were promoting that would actually be there. Why not just kick them out after elementary
This is where I say Wake UP and Smell the Coffee.
Didn't they remove the campstoves and propane bottles which are used to make coffee

The JOOOOOOOOOOS!
Best get that sticky key fixed. You a wannbee Jew also?

Get Hess's Angels to take care of them!
Would that be a paid engagement or a volunteer one? Is your attention span only one layer deep (another stupid question) in that my typing can be mocked and then you don't have to deal with the aspect of them doing it for free compared to being paid an obscene amount of money. Didn't you say meth and pot were their mainstay drug income, that means the coke and heroin still belong to the American Government Agencies then, like the ones involved in the 'fast and furious' episode. Such a tangled web they weave.

Of the people, by the people, and for the people. Ever hear of that?

So they want special jobs, jobs that they want to do. Jobs to their suit and none other. They get out of college with a worthless degree and feel that the government should provide them with a job, or that the private sector should provide them with a job to their liking.

This is where I say Wake UP and Smell the Coffee.

The JOOOOOOOOOOS!

Get Hess's Angels to take care of them!
Well that saved me the effort, thanx.

I'm pressed for time, so I'll leave his next reply in your capable hands too, lol.

I care for them, so why would I.

You do? Why would you even suggest calling them azzholes then. Clearly you do not care for your wife and children.

Why should I know the inner workings of the Marines or any other branch of the American Military.

You wouldn't so I do not know why you pretend that you do. Let's continue.

No one left behind applies to all branches doesn't it?

He was left behind?

It was his own platoon that killed him so apparently that rule is only for the new recriots so the olderr corrupt ones don't get killed off in the same manor.

I assume you mean recruits. Lesson 1... A recruit is a person in basic training. You are a recruit until you graduate from Boot Camp. Yet again your lack of knowledge shows.

Pat Tillman was a Corporal. He enlisted in 2002 and was killed in 2004. Not only was he not a recruit but he was a non-commisioned officer.

In conclusion... You FAIL

You forgot to supply the link, is there even one?
They don't even know the actual size.

Yes they do. It was 5.56MM ammo.

You're getting your info from ESPN!

Nevertheless, ESPN supports my claim and not yours. Tragically it was a friendly fire incident.

You FAIL.

A ton but why waste the space and time. Just about done with the experiment to see how long this distraction from the issue of Scott Olsen will take. At least you have said he is the 1/10 that is a dick, think of the time you could have saved if you had said that right when I asked you if you supported him or not.

I don't support his views. Are you that thick?

He can't speak after being shot in the head, Looks like moral support to me, no words needed.

lol. You FAIL

I thought you said if you needed food to apply for food stamps, who issues those, the Gov. If that was the case then why are the homeless even in need of food in the first place? (if those stamps were available) Do you know that some places have even made it illegal to feed the homeless?

It isn't illegal at Zucotti Park! The Occupiers simply don't want to feed the poor. They have better food than the Soup kitchens. However the gourmet chefs that are feeding the protestors do not want to feed the most destitute among them. What hypocrites.

If there is no obligation to supply food then why are prisoners given food?

Move them goal posts!

Clearly you are flailing now. You can't even stay on track because I am making you dance like a fool.

The same ones who protested until the Vietnam war was stopped? Seems the Gov is always willing to feed protesters rubber-coated bullets and tear-gas though. (especially in other Nations). Wonder how the 1% would be talking if the ammo was coming in their direction?

Yes those same ones. The US Govt. didn't bring hot meals to them nor were they obligated to. In addition the Vietnam War protestors didn't expect them to.

Yup, if the protestors are going to act up they're going to get rubber bullets and tear gas as they deserve it because they're looking for it. They'll also get a "Wood Shampoo"!

Many of the protestors are in the 1%.

No the ones in the protests are the desperate ones, not that many care (here or in your Country, pretty easy to see why the International and domestic image of America is taking such a beating)

Michael Moore is desperate?

I have little sympathy for people who could be working and are simply looking for handouts. There is plenty of work out there that they can be doing. It may not be what they want to do or what they went to college for but that is life.

That's what elections are for.

Look what the Tea Party did!

OH SNAP!

Then it must be an attempt to make people leave the area, the same place you said they have a right to be.

Still you make up lies because what I really say shatters you points.

They have a right to protest... but to occupy, squat, and set up tents in a park is illegal. What makes them any special?

Since the protestors are part of the people why is there subservience methods being used against them rather than a a real investigation to their grievances. Unfortunately the investigation would be conducted by the very ones who are the 1%. (those making more than $250,000)

Why should they get special treatment. If they are breaking the law they should be arrested. However they are still allowed to camp in many places like here in Boston at Dewey Square. They have no right to be there and deny the use of the park (by filling it up with tents and tables) to other citizens.

Like a jobs that they trained for because that is what the schools were promoting that would actually be there.

Who was promoting that? If someone gets a philosophy degree and wonders why he can't get a job as a philosopher then he's not very bright.

Again... who was promoting that jobs would be there?

Why not just kick them out after elementary

That was dumb.

Didn't they remove the campstoves and propane bottles which are used to make coffee

I've heard that they have in some places. Do you want a fire ripping through a tent city causing deaths? I guess you don't care.

Best get that sticky key fixed. You a wannbee Jew also?

The JOOOOOOOOOS! The Rothchilds JOOOOOOOOS! The JOOOOOOOS control the world!

Is your attention span only one layer deep (another stupid question)

It was a stupid question. We agree on one thing at least.

in that my typing can be mocked and then you don't have to deal with the aspect of them doing it for free compared to being paid an obscene amount of money. Didn't you say meth and pot were their mainstay drug income, that means the coke and heroin still belong to the American Government Agencies then, like the ones involved in the 'fast and furious' episode. Such a tangled web they weave.

What on earth are you gabbing about?!

Scott Olsen is one of those 10%ers in the Corps. One out of ten Marines that is a complete d***. [/QUOTE]

Thank you, that was all I was after, even if it took that long it was worth it, say goodnight Irene. You and Shirley have a wonderful evening ****tard.

Now back to business.

A Baltimore police union and two firefighters unions have written to Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake (who wants to shut down Occupy Baltimore) asking that the protests be allowed to continue.
And city employees from Irvine, California to Providence, Rhode Island have correctly said that – whether or not they agree with the protesters’ views – the protesters’ have the right of free speech and free assembly under the Constitution.

“Very pleased we have entered into relations again with American Government” -Rothschilds, 1878 « unicornpoo“Very pleased we have entered into relations again with American Government” -Rothschilds, 1878

Less than 20 years later, in Feb. 1895, the Rothschilds stepped in to save a floundering US Treasury, a floundering that they no doubt helped along, because that’s how the mindset of a loanshark operates:
CONTRACT
This agreement entered into this eighth day of February, 1895, between the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, of the first part, and Messrs. August Belmont and Company, of New York, on behalf of Messrs. N. M. Rothschild and Sons, of London, England, and themselves, and Messrs. J. P. Morgan and Company, of New York, on behalf of Messrs. J. S. Morgan and Company, of London, and themselves, parties of the second part.
Witnesseth: Whereas it is provided by the Revised Statutes of the United States (section 3700) that the Secretary of the Treasury may purchase coin with any of the bonds or notes of the United States authorized by law, at such rates and upon such terms as he may deem most advantageous to the public interests; and the Secretary of the Treasury now deems that an emergency exists in which the public interests require that, as hereinafter provided, coin shall be purchased with the bonds of the United States, of the description hereinafter mentioned, authorized to be issued under the act entitled “An act to provide for the resumption of specie payments,” approved January 14, 1875, being bonds of the United States described in an Act of Congress approved July 14, 1870, entitled “An act to authorize the refunding of the national debt.”
Now, therefore, the said parties of the second part hereby agree to sell and deliver to the United States three million five hundred thousand ounces of standard gold coin of the United States, at the rate of $17.80441 per ounce, payable in United States four per cent thirty-year coupon or registered bonds, said bonds to be dated February 1, 1895, and payable at the pleasure of the United States after thirty years from date, issued under the acts of Congress of July 14,1870, January 20, 1871, and January 14, 1875, bearing interest at the rate of four per cent per annum, payable quarterly.
First.—Such purchase and sale of gold coin being made on the following conditions:
(1) At least one-half of all coin deliverable hereinunder shall be obtained in and shipped from Europe, but the shipments shall not be required to exceed three hundred thousand ounces per month, unless the parties of the second part shall consent thereto.
(2) All deliveries shall be made at any of the subtreasuries or at any other legal depository of the United States.
(3) All gold coins delivered shall be received on the basis of twenty-five and eight-tenths grains of standard gold per dollar, if within limit of tolerance.
(4) Bonds delivered under this contract are to be delivered free of accrued interest, which is to be assumed and paid by the parties of the second part at the time of their delivery to them.
Second.—Should the Secretary of the Treasury desire to offer or sell any bonds of the United States on or before the first day of October, 1895, he shall first offer the same to the parties of the second part; but thereafter he shall be free from every such obligation to the parties of the second part.
Third.—The Secretary of the Treasury hereby reserves the right, within ten days from the date hereof, in case he shall receive authority from Congress therefor, to substitute any bonds of the United States, bearing three per cent interest, of which the principal and interest shall be specifically payable in United States gold coin of the present weight and fineness for the bonds herein alluded to: such three per cent bonds to be accepted by the parties of the second part at par, i. e.: at $18.60466 per ounce of standard gold.
Fourth.—No bonds shall be delivered to the parties of the second part, or either of them, except in payment for coin from time to time received hereunder; whereupon the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States shall and will deliver the bonds as herein provided, at such places as shall be designated by the parties of the second part. Any expense of delivery out of the United States shall be assumed and paid by the parties of the second part.
Fifth.—In consideration of the purchase of such coin, the parties of the second part, and their associates hereunder, assume and will bear all the expense and inevitable loss of bringing gold from Europe hereunder: and, as far as lies in their power, will exert all financial influence and will make all legitimate efforts to protect the Treasury of the United States against the withdrawals of gold pending the complete performance of this contract.
In witness whereof the parties hereto have hereunto set their hands in five parts this 8th day of February, 1895.
J. G. Carlisle,
Secretary of the Treasury
August Belmont & Co.,
On behalf of Messrs. N. M. Rothschild & Sons, London, and themselves
J. P. Morgan & Co.,
On behalf of Messrs. J. S. Morgan & Co., London, and themselves
