I sympathize with them in many but not all aspects and they are gaining some
traction here. The Banks are backing off the five dollar debit card fee and today
the banks have been ordered to contact many people on foreclosures because
the system the banks used did not give people a chance to appeal their case.
Six months ago, wouldn't have happened.
Again I say, this movement is only beginning. It is the new fundraiser and the
new in thing to do. Before it was organics, the environment, spotted owls and
save the whales. Oh it will fade in winter in Canada and North America but
like the old ground hog they will re-enter the battle. In Europe they will gain
ground like never before. Greece is likely to fail because, a referendum will fail
in that country. Some are saying that combined with the new China Bubble
we could see a full scale depression. If that happens the people in the street
will be the majority in a matter weeks.
Occupy Wall Street is a symbol. It is saying we are not going to give up the
gains society made, in exchange for a few I phones and trinkets. Reality is about
to set in and the young people are not going to wait for their share of the pie.
If they can't have it now, they will destroy the pie in the end. If we don't get the
economic situation solved by mid December we are in for one hell of a rough
ride. The reason, the short sellers and the market adjustments for taxation
season will kick in before Christmas and New Year and that will see markets
plunge even lower than usual.
I am out of the Markets and have been for a while now because I saw this coming.

I kinda like this:

SASKATOON (SBP) — Screams of utter terror resonated throughout the streets of Saskatoon last weekend after a heartless group of individuals broke up the “Occupy Saskatoon” protest by offering the protesters jobs. The impromptu job fair quickly dispersed 99% of the protesters while 1% stayed to listen to the potential career opportunities.

“In the name of sweet Gaia, SAVE US FROM THESE EVIL CORPORATIONS!” screamed an ‘Occupy’ Protester as he tweeted and facebooked the developments on his iPhone, “This is police state genocidal welfare warfare global warming George Bush!”

Many of the protesters scattered at the first sight of “THE MAN”, some of them dropping their digital cameras, video cameras, iPhones, iPods, iPads and various other cell phones. What was not dropped, however, were bags of weed, hackeysacks and bongo drums.

“We have our priorities,” said a fleeing Occupy protester as she desperately clung to her Eddie Bauer bag, “My parents can always buy me a new phone or camera but you just can’t put a price on some good weed. Now, let’s get the hell out of here before I’m given some responsibilities!”

Many of the prospective employers at the Impromptu Job Fair were puzzled by the scattering of 99% of the protesters.

“I’m offering good money here. You just have to work for it.” said a rep from a Saskatoon construction company, “I thought this would be the perfect place to get someone who would be willing to work full time. I mean, these guys planned to be here for a long time and I assumed that meant they were needing work. I thought I would help them out. Why are they running away?”

The Occupy Saskatoon protest was scheduled to start at 9am. But, through a series of consensus building committee meetings complete with hand signals, the protesters decided that Occupy Saskatoon would be best accomplished when they woke up around noon. It was then that the evil business owners of the city descended and dispersed the crowd with their brand of human rights violating capitalism.

“It was like, they wanted me to work, man! Like, do stuff in exchange for money! Money is what trust funds are for!” shrieked an Occupy protester as he shook with terror, “Dude, what is this thing called ‘work’? I’m scared! Why isn’t the government saving me from this?”

Potential employers continued to reach out to Occupy Saskatoon.

“Unemployment is reaching an all time low in Saskatchewan,” said local businessman and Impromptu Job Fair exhibitor, Nathan Paxton, “And, as that happens, I’m having a harder time finding good people to work for me. I need help to keep my business running and will pay good money complete with benefits.”

While 1% of the Occupy protesters decided to stay back and consider life changing job offers, the other 99% who scattered are likely to occupy places like their parent’s basement. However, it is unlikely they will be found occupying things like a shower.

No they weren't boredom was setting in though but perseverance paid off in that you did answer the question of what you thought of a fellow Marine. Go back to whatever hole you crawled out of.

In other words you learned your lesson. Maybe next time you'll use what little sense you have.

In Europe they will gain
ground like never before. Greece is likely to fail because, a referendum will fail
in that country.

Isn't Greece socialist and they are failing because they are out of money? And that is what the Occupiers want, more socialism, more government intervention, more government jobs.

Man arrested for child sex assault at Occupy Dallas camp

DALLAS — Dallas police have arrested a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a minor at the Occupy Dallas campsite downtown.
Richard Armstrong, 24, was charged with sexual assault of child and failure to register as a sex offender.
Armstrong was identified as the man who police said had sex with a runaway from Garland. The alleged incident happened in a tent at one of the encampments on or before Oct. 23.

Conspiracy of Silence US Politicians Pedophile Ring | Conspiracy Reality TV - Documentaries and Videos

"The story of this documentary is a conspiracy in itself in that an investigative film crew were attempting to further expose politicians involved in a prostitution ring at the highest levels of government, when it was banned from being aired on it’s scheduled date of May 3rd 1994. This documentary uncovers how a network of corrupt politicians were using young male victims in sex abuse acts, spanning all levels of government leading all the way to the White House."

Now show us the number of applications each of those offered jobs actually got at the various employment places. To offer them to these people seems to indicate that there was nobody applying for them an if these particular people did apply then they would get the jobs. How many years of university to drive a limo. Last time I was at the UI office the receptionist was also a Nurse who took that job because there were none available in her profession.

Any army recruitment applications in the 'list'?

Scott Olsen is one of those 10%ers in the Corps. One out of ten Marines that is a complete d***. [/QUOTE]

You really should expand your news sources,. FOXABCMSNBC don't ever cover the whole story.

Veterans are coming together to beef up their presence and stature at Occupy Wall Street following last week's injury of one of their own. Scott Olsen's head wound, suffered in Oakland last week, has caused vets ranks to swell in the Occupy protests. In response, organizers have planned a march from Vietnam Veteran's plaza to Zuccotti park in New York today. At the park, veterans will voice their concerns over declining benefits, lingering postwar trauma, and unemployment rates of over 20 percent for 18 to 24-year-old vets.
"[Olsen's] injury has definitely galvanized veterans," University of Illinois senior Scott Kimball told the Military Times. Kimball, 27,served in Iraq and will be helping to coordinate today's march.
“We’re getting calls from veterans across the country who are extremely angry and appalled that someone who served two tours in Iraq got injured as a well-behaved protester,” Kimball told MT. “It’s rallying vets across the country. We’re just seeing the beginning of it

Good article in the Ottawa sun got me thinking today.
None action by the police is the best solution, to not fuel them on.
When Winter hits I dont see this protess going on.

NCC lets Occupy stay despite police presence.

Big Brother is watching Occupy Ottawa — but only watching.

With an Ottawa police special events unit as well as NCC officials dedicated to monitoring the Confederation Park site, things have still managed to go awry.

There have been three cases of sexual assault on top of several violent assaults within their small community.
But police have no record of these incidents.

“The only calls we’ve had are disturbances,” said Ottawa police Const. Mark Soucy.
The movement has a First Aid and Safety Committee and they prefer to deal with the assaults on their own.
“(Calling the police) is not our first step,” said Safety Committee member Adam Smolcic.
“It’s really up to the victim if they feel it’s a pertinent issue, of course they have the right to call the police and the community supports that whole heartedly.”

According to Smolcic, one incident continued to occur, so Occupy members removed the person in question from the park themselves.

“If we can do it appropriately and non-violently without the police we prefer to do that — of course any police incidents look badly on the entire community here and we’d like to avoid that,” he said.

But Soucy said any incident putting someone in danger should be reported to police.
“We’re trained for that — you don’t know who you’re dealing with and we don’t advocate people to try to handle these things on their own because it could result in injuries or legal problems for that matter,” he said.
“If there’s any sexual assaults taking place we’d like to be made aware of it so we can investigate them.”

NCC officials are also keeping an eye on the state of their park.
“(We’re) concerned about some behaviours in the park and we’ve asked for corrective measures,” said spokesman Jean Wolff.

“We’ve noticed they have construction materials like crates, wood, wood pallets, nails ... we want these removed.”
Occupiers have been asked to remove items attached to fountains, ramps and trees, as well as any flammable materials.
Neither authority will comment on plans to force the protesters out of the park — even though occupiers plan to continue the camp-out well into the winter months.

However, every fall the NCC flushes the park’s irrigation system, so Wolff admit some tents will have to be moved for the procedure.
But when asked about Winterlude and how they’ll manage around campers, he wouldn’t “speculate about the future.”
“We’re taking it day by day,” he said.

Ottawa isn't the hub of the 'occupy' movement. Even if they left would they not return in the spring, even the war of 1812 took the winter months off. The bars were the retirement places for most of the fighters.

Vigilante justice might curb some who think they can get away with crimes in that the police would not be ready to respond very quickly (or at all). What was the old way, locked in a device that left you ass exposed so others could give it a kick on their way past.

Long ago in colonial America, the troublemakers were punished in the center of town for the entire public to see. Locked in wooden frameworks in the town square, they served their time while the town people scoffed at them. Two types of framework punishment were:
· Pillory - this framework had holes for the criminal's head and hands to stick through while they stood up. Once locked in they might get rotten fruit or other items thrown at them. The wrongdoer was condemned to carry out his punishment in rain or shine or freezing weather.

· Stocks - it had holes in it which the troublemaker's ankles were locked while setting down.
· Whipping posts - where a criminal might be whipped before the whole town.

Crime And Punishment In Colonial America

I recall some American kid of some hot-shots got an ass whipping by the Chinese Govt for scratching the paint on a new car with a key. Somebody should look him up and ask him if the thought to key another one ever crept into his mind.

And you're so willfully ignorant of you own citizens ignoring laws in other countries.
Michael P. Fay - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Michael Peter Fay (born May 30, 1975) is an American who briefly shot to international notoriety when he was sentenced to caning in Singapore as an 18-year-old in 1994 for theft and vandalism. Caning is a routine court sentence in Singapore but most Americans were unfamiliar with it, and Fay's case was believed to be the first caning involving an American citizen.[1]
The number of cane strokes in his sentence was reduced from six to four after U.S. officials requested leniency.

It doesn't say that he damaged the paint on a car with a key, though.
