Give Baird a chance.

It doesn't look like we have a choice now, lol.

The guy made a bold faced lie that flies in the face of conservatism. Someone even made a friggin youtube channel with all of his blunders. This is not about where your plotted on some right-left dartboard.

This is about the guy we choose to represent all of Canada to the rest of the world.

And when they find out how much dirt he's got him, the international community will be laughing at us.

Kyoto was an impending disaster and everyone knows it. Only Modern Druids would cling
to that mess. I am a long way from being a conservative but I also realize that Mr Harper
has a lot of juggling to do, he has to try to keep a center right position in order to get re-elected
and he has a social conservative base that wants to introduce the issues of the loony right.
If the NDP were elected with a majority they would face the same problem from the other end
of the spectrum.
John Baird will be given a chance, who knows it might mellow him out a bit, on the other hand
Harper pulls the strings and if he is to far out there he will be replaced. I think it is incumbent
upon us all to wait and see what the policies are going to be and take it from there. Mr. Harper
might find himself in trouble with Canadians if he goes off course and he might just choose
to operate from the center right. No one knows the direction this government will go and we
are speculating on things that might never happen.
Before the election Liberals were complaining that all the Conservatives could do was call names
and impugn reputations. Now they are announcing cabinet ministers and a lot of non Tories are,
wait for it , calling people names.
I think the Liberals across the country are still in shock to find out that no one loves them including
half their families. I think the conservatives are about to find out also that just because you have a
majority doesn't mean you can do what you want. New Democrats also have to understand the
real position of the official opposition. The liberals are not in the penalty box, they have been
handed a generational misconduct. The way things stand at the moment and if everyone behaves
them self I think you could see an NDP government before you'll see the Liberals return to the
government side of the house. Jon Baird performed the way he did because it went with the position
he held, it does not mean he will do the same in his new post

The largest cabinet in 20 years, theres that conservitive mentality of saving money again.

I hear that 3 of those that lost their seats have been given Senate positions...pretty nice reward for being a loser don't you think??

An appointment to a non-elected body is democratic???? Democracy fired their asses, now Harpo gives them Higher paying longer tenured positions.

When the Liberals did that sort of thing some people here howled calling it unjust and not at all democratic. Called for the Senate to be abolished and what not. Seems most of them have come around and find they are ok with it now. lol

It wasn't because they were afraid of economic collapse.
Yeah you're right. The Liberals were offered to become America's biggest supplier of energy of all types if we go help blow the **** out of Iraq and destabilize the Middle East and put embargos on Iran.

It worked. AB and SK are energy world beaters now. The Liberals gave us what the Saudis, Iraqis and Iranians were enjoying for far far far too long. We set out to kill OPEC and it worked. Thank goodness the Liberals set AB and SK up so sweet.

Come to think of it, with Baird as foreign minister, we're going to need those fighter jets after all.
We're going to have to open up on the immigration though cause we're going to need fresh young soldiers for that meat grinder we're installing just now.

When the meshing of NAFTA and EUFTA is complete we'll have the grinder ready to roll.

I'm betting we will be getting inundated by thanksgiving with govt propaganda supporting the SPP, SSP, NAU, Amero and all that other good stuff.

This is very very bad.

You need to read this, and relax.....

We are fighting two wars, face the risk of global protectionism due to the economic trouble the world is facing, we must assert sovereignty over the Arctic and defend our oil sands from international criticism, while avoiding any fruitless, costly global warming treaties. But none of the concern about Baird’s ability to do the job right is focused on the fact that it’s a difficult job. People mainly seem worried that Baird just isn’t that nice a guy and might not be the best choice to represent Canada on the world stage.

How absurd.

Matt Gurney: Relax, everyone. John Baird isn’t going to scream at Hillary Clinton | Full Comment | National Post

From what I know Baird is a pretty tough hardass. Now as long as he uses this to protect and promote Canadian sovereignty I am actually gonna support him. The minute he starts to sell-out to globalism and I hear 1 word about the NAU or Amero I will call for his resignation.

I am happy the world is becoming more protectionist, I am against the free trade deals period.
The reason they are free trade not fair trade deals. Agriculture and other areas of the economy
suffer for export manufacturing and the selling off of natural resources. I have spoken with the
trade negotiators for Canada and they have told us point blank the WTO deal that was ten years
in the making is dead on arrival and so is the plan B proposal.
I support fair trade not free trade and I do not support the NAFTA agreement either we should in
fact protect the natural resources for our future generations and to hell with the rest of the world.
When the problems of shortages manifest themselves no one will care if we are short of anything
they will charge us through the nose and we should do the same.
The world economy is about to get a lot worse and the jobs market is going to get a lot tougher.
I think Canada for Canadians and Canadian jobs to go to Canadian workers first. I will support
the present government as long as it has the interests of Canadians first and when it starts we
are a world community and we have to make sacrifices for our friends, that is when I will also
join being critical. Jon Baird and others should be given the opportunity like anyone else from any
other party, to make their impression and indeed a couple of mistakes, if they go astray they are
then fair game, but at least give them a chance first. With all this doom and gloom, I haven't seen
the sky hanging low on the horizon anywhere yet so wait and see.

With 158 FTA's on the table you have plenty to be damngrumpy about.

We have potash as a strategic reserve but no oil or gas or water or food crops? That's flippin' obscene.
