This has been going on, with increasing violence, since the sixties.
This is where facts, read reality, don't mesh up with your claims.

In the 60's, the National Guard was called out and people died.

Violent clashes lulled for the bulk of the 70's 80's and 90's. With a slight uprise in recent memory.

Civil disobedience and protest has been met with force.
Ya, it used to be met with bullets.

There is nothing impending about it.
That's cuz it just ain't coming.

I wasn't aware that we had a National Guard.

I was taking about Canada. In Montreal I witnessed first hand riots started by the police, how they attacked anti-war protesters, striking union workers at La Presse head office, personally being attacked by motorcycle cops at the Amchitka anti- nuclear testing at the US Embassy, watched them haul a young 15 year old girl and on old man in a wheel chair off to prison for protesting the destruction of Perry Ridge, aboriginal elders dragged away for trying to protect their sacred grounds from ski hill development, etc, etc, etc.

The police are there to protect the rich and corporate interests.

Ya, that would be a credible reply, dismiss the content by dismissing the link.

Yeah, did you think your trivial random youtube links were actually worth further analyzing?

Really? Are you really that stupid?

Um, you want to further elaborate on what you're talking about genius? You're apparently think you're a bright person so resorting to an ad-hominem shouldn't be necessary.

I was talking in general North American terms.

And what happened in the aftermath?

Oh ya, the provocateurs were found out, policy depts were spanked, policy written.

Not very Police state like.

The police are there to protect the rich and corporate interests.
So who do you call when someone breaks into your house?

Yeah, did you think your trivial random youtube links were actually worth further analyzing?
You aren't capable of critical analysis.

That's why you hide behind dismissing the medium, instead of addressing the content.

Which of course make your posts trivial and insipid.

We will see if and when the next G8/G20 summit happens in Canada. They had their pee pees whacked in Quebec and in Toronto they did the same thing. The consistency of response makes it look like national policy.

I'm glad you recognize they got spanked.

Which of course would indicate that what happened isn't a matter of policy, or an impending shift.

That would be the considerate and humanist thing to do.

But sadly those that need to learn it the most, haven't the ability to comprehend the lesson.

Although I am a sucker for efforts in futility.

Can't teach an old dog new tricks huh?

That's too bad. Evolution is a wonderful thing, wish more people would try it. :)

Unlike the Muslim gentleman interviewed below...........and it ain't cherry picking.........how many Muslims have broken up terror plots practically single-handedly?

No idea. How many Christians have broken up an abortion bombing attempt single-handedly?

How can you cherry-pick from a field of one???

By taking your comparison from an individual case and attempting to apply it generally. Did you not understand what cherry picking is? If you pick the first and only ripe cherry on the tree, and tell everyone that this is the quality of your cherries...

The fact that you even had to explain this..

Damn, I never took you for such an apologist....

It was not ONE mosque he had a problem in, it was not ONE incident.........a significant portion of the Muslim community was unhappy with him, according to him.

He has no reason to exaggerate or lie outright.

This is a problem, no matter how deeply you bury your head in the sand.

I'm not an apologist. I would have to be defending or justifying something to be an apologist. I'm merely taking exception to your bias. That doesn't fit any definition of an apologist. Though you are straying very close to that area... It must be grand indeed to be able to make up definitions to suit your purposes Colpy...

He said he gets dirty looks and congratulations when he goes to other mosques. I'm not surprised that he would get the attention that he did. He was going to a Mosque with extremists who were planning to commit terrorism. Funny how you never mentioned that he is also congratulated when he goes to other Mosques. I guess that cherry isn't as ripe in your eyes?

This is a problem, no matter how deeply you bury your head in the sand.

Can show me where I ever said home grown terrorism isn't a problem, that we have extremists in our country and that's not a problem?

It is and you won't find me saying otherwise anywhere, however I don't need a fallacious argument to say that, or make that case.
