What some people fail to grasp is that Mexicans will still be able to enter and travel in the US if they are on business or travel. iow, they have proper identification and present themselves to customs/border agencies. Any legislation enacted, or action taken would target law breakers.

I don't think that part is a problem and I'm sure Trump can see the wisdom in that. What he doesn't want is murdering, thieving, raping, drug pushing bastards entering his country. I have absolutely no problem understanding that.

I feel exactly the same about illegal aliens who try to get into our country while millions of others have gone through the long process of becoming Canadian citizens. They will have to but at the rate that things are progressing, the situation could be radically different by then. The Mexicans have some cards to play, too. They are the second biggest customer for American goods and services, after us and a lot of the American food supply comes from Mexico. The Americans will not pull this wall off without hurting themselves. The wall will take a decade and a half to build, will generate ill will that might last for generations and it won't stop a hamster, anyway. "Show me a thirty for wall and I will show you a thirty one foot high ladder."

There are physical barriers that stand in the way of any easy access to portions of the border. Along with the physical, legal barriers also stand in the way but Trump appears to be making short work of negating regulations these days - any pertaining to the border will be sure to get top priority. I've watched several docs on the border - how amazingly porous it is and how hard to patrol. It could end up being America's Great Wall and take as long as it took the Chinese to get theirs done.
