That's funny.
I'm guessing he still has kool-aids from the convention running in his vein.
Anyways, yes, embarassing and laughing at the same time lol.
Now, for serious issues..
hat is funny....Obama says he wants to decrease the dependency on foreign oil,but he doesn't want off-shore drilling or drilling in Alaska.
Good argument...however, I'd like to rip that apart.
First of all, off-shore drilling or drilling in ANWAR will NOT and I repeat, WILL NOT budge the cost per gallon or litre. Even if it DOES budge and somehow miraculously the gas price comes down to the point where we left off a year ago, it is inevitable...that we will reach back to a point where we are at now.
The reason is simple: Supply & Demand. When you increase the number of supply and the demand stays relatively the same, price of gas eventually decreases. Good thing right? It makes sense for so many people that if we drill our shores and even ANWAR, the price of oil will go down. Yay? No. Not really.
Oil market don't work like that. It bases its statistic and the value per a barrel based on the world market. So, if we manage to increase the supply and thus lowering the price of gas, we will still be in jeopardy due to increasing demand of oil in the world market. In the end, we will be back to where we started all over again and the rest is history.
Conclusively, it seems to me that off-shore drilling/ANWAR is a money grab for oil company and the benefit is not for middle class Americans/Canadians, its for the corporate interest. Plus..it takes couple years to set up those off-shore drilling for full production capacity anyways.
Thus, I can only say that McCain's energy policy is dumb. The same old conservative tactics to somehow satisfy for a while than the problem later. Awesome.
McCain might have rejected Bush's assurance of Americans by telling them to shop, shop, shop after September 11 and deregulated housing market all which has led to a preventable economic bubble. However, his proposal is exactly the same as Bush's short-term based policy--act now, think later.
