You slut you.
On that note….Liberals are also attracting big crowds, but in lesser numbers which they claim is because their rallies are announced relatively at the last minute. The Richmond rally, for instance, saw 2,000 people in a hotel conference room and another 400 people in an overflow room.😯

(That vs Poilievre and 12,000-15,000 at his last rally, last night)🤫

VANCOUVER — Former Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson, who is now running for Mark Carney’s Liberals, dismissed the size of the crowds that Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is attracting and compared them to the 2022 Freedom Convoy protests? Oh???

Robertson, who is the Liberal candidate for Vancouver Fraserview—South Burnaby, was present during Carney’s trip to the West Coast this week. He attended the Liberal rally in Richmond on Monday evening and was at Carney’s announcement in Delta on Tuesday morning.

Speaking to the press after the announcement, Robertson said he does not believe that a re-elected Liberal government would increase Western alienation (?in Vancouver specifically?), as suggested by former Reform party leader Preston Manning in a piece in The Globe and Mail last week.

“Absolutely not,” said Robertson. “I think what I’m hearing on the doors here in Vancouver is incredible confidence in the message that Mark Carney and the Liberals are sharing right now in tackling the challenge from (U.S. President) Donald Trump and the tariffs.”

“I don’t hear the message of Poilievre resonating at all here on the west coast,” he added…specifically inside Vancouver I’d assume…
So everybody just needs to get off their arse on April 28 and get out & cast their ballot & then let the chips fall where they may.
Newsflash, Tax. People who live outside your block get to vote too.
Newsflash, for the former Vancouver mayor running for the Libs…the lower mainland clear cut is not indicative of the rest of Western Canada…let alone Canada as a whole.
Robertson said the energy in the room was “fantastic” but said “ultimately, people are going to make their choices at home” by the time the April 28 election arrives. In his opinion, Conservative rallies amount to a normal democratic exercise. “There are always going to be thousands of people who will go to protests and are not satisfied with what’s on the table,” said Robertson. “That’s the nature of democracy.”

Reporters pushed back, saying those gatherings are not “protests” but political rallies.🤔

“It’s a political rally, but it’s very deeply aligned with the truck convoy rally that went to Ottawa,” said Robertson?? Really??? Based upon what??

Wait, misogynistic bigots with unacceptable opinions? Something like that? Sounds so familiar for some reason?

South Burnaby riding…isn’t that the one currently held by…Jagmeet Singh? Maybe Jagmeet is one over or something? The district was replaced by Vancouver Fraserview—South Burnaby and Burnaby Central for the 2025 Canadian federal election.

Huh…so Maybe…just maybe Jagmeet Singh & this Gregor Robinson can share this riding now…in a non-coalition coalition that’s definitely not a coalition-type coalition division of this electoral district.

Chinese bots are tainting the online polls to give the illusion of voter confidence in Carney.
On Monday, federal officials released information showing that China was “targeting” Carney with an information campaign. The details revealed that the targeting was a co-ordinated effort by the Chinese government and state-owned media outlets to push a positive narrative about Carney to Chinese Canadians on the wildly popular Chinese-language social media platform WeChat.
Carney was asked about that support on Tuesday and couldn’t really give an answer.

“Why do you think that China, the PRC, seems to like you? Why are they praising you?” a reporter asked.

Valid question, but the answer was lacking.

“I have absolutely no idea and I, um, I, ya, I have absolutely no idea and I think — well, I’ll leave it at that,” Carney said.

Robertson is moving up the political food chain. He used to be on the far left of the provincial NDP. Somehow, I doubt he has discovered that democracy is a good thing.

Carney vows to make Canada an energy superpower, proposes faster project reviews…somehow…but with half-arsed versions of what the Conservatives would do, and with Liberal caveats attached, to escape actually having to do what they (Liberals) say in the event they win the election.

Conservative candidate for Nepean says hundreds of election signs missing
Barbara Bal, who is running against Mark Carney, also alleged the wooden stakes from her election signs were reused on the Liberal leader's signs

Barbara Bal, the Conservative Party candidate for Nepean, said hundreds of her election signs have gone missing. She also claims that the wooden stakes from her missing signs are being reused for Liberal Leader Mark Carney's red signs.

The Conservative Party candidate for Nepean who is facing Liberal Leader Mark Carney at the ballot box says hundreds of her election signs have gone missing.

Barbara Bal also alleged the wooden stakes from her blue election signs were found on Carney’s red signs.

“No matter how many times they take my signs down, my hardworking team will always put them back up,” Bal wrote Tuesday night on social media site X. “This is the reality of a Conservative woman working hard for her community.”

Bal, who has served as a reserve member of the Royal Canadian Artillery for a decade and as a police officer for more than 25 years, said her campaign has already received multiple statements and video footage of these incidents.

Her campaign also filed a report to the Ottawa Police.

According to the Criminal Code, the destruction of private property is a criminal offence.

An election candidate can also file a complaint in writing to the Commissioner of Canada Elections, which is responsible for investigating offences such as the destruction of signs under the Canada Elections Act.

Barbara Bal, the Conservative Party candidate for Nepean, said her election signs are being found in the garbage.

Bal believes the act of removing election signs is a way to silence her voice.

“Pulling down and stealing hundreds of my signs, placing my opponent’s signs on my wooden stakes, and dumping mine in the garbage is not the practice of democracy, it is a deliberate attempt to silence a voice and disrupt the democratic process,” she wrote.

Bal also shared video evidence of wooden stakes with painted blue tops and NCA – for Nepean Conservative Association – written on the side that had Carney signs attached to them.

“We are discovering that hundreds of our signs are missing,” Bal said in the video. “We have found many of our signs in the garbage. We have also discovered empty holes and, in other instances, wooden stakes with blue tips and NCA written on them bearing my opponent’s red sign.”

A message was sent to the Liberal Party seeking comment about the allegations.

“This is unacceptable,” Bal said. “Our community deserves better. We must stand united against such actions which tarnish the democratic ideals that we hold dear.”

Saskatchewan Party MLA apologizes for calling federal NDP leader 'a terrorist'
'Comments made by this Sask. Party MLA are deeply hurtful and hateful to the Sikh community'

Author of the article:Alec Salloum

A Saskatchewan Party MLA is apologizing after calling federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh “a terrorist” from the floor of the provincial legislature.

MLA for Humboldt-Watrous Racquel Hilbert addressed her comments in an emailed statement issued Wednesday.

“I recently made an inaccurate and inappropriate statement about the federal NDP leader. I apologize for and withdraw that statement,” reads the email.

Hilbert told to ‘be careful’
Hilbert was elected in the 2024 Saskatchewan general election, having previously worked as a teacher. She is also the founder of a drilling company.

Following question period on March 25, Hilbert rose and spoke on the 2025-26 provincial budget. In her comments, she touched upon efforts made by the government to open trade offices around the world and find new markets for Saskatchewan products.

“We’ve built trade relations and worked to open new markets from Dubai to India, Brazil to Japan, Mexico to Italy,” said Hilbert, adding that the NDP Opposition and the federal NDP made those efforts “more difficult.”

“We did not hear the Opposition denounce their federal leader as being a terrorist in India and denounce the collateral trade damage to Western Canada,” said Hilbert.

Speaker Toddy Goudy did tell the MLA to “be careful” with her comments, but that came after she accused the NDP of “virtue-signalling.”

Asked Wednesday why calling Singh a terrorist was allowed to stand, Goudy’s office said it would not be able to comment due to scheduling constraints.

Singh responds
Speaking Wednesday in Richmond, B.C., Singh said Hilbert’s comment was “clearly a lie” and asked: “What’s happened in this MLA’s life for them to say that about me?”

The federal leader said he was worried about the underlying bias that motivated Hilbert to make that comment and how it impacts young people in Saskatchewan.

“What does it say to them when an elected official of their province is lying about somebody else calling them a negative term like that?” Singh asked.

‘Racism has no place in our province’
In an emailed statement, Saskatchewan NDP MLA Tajinder Grewal said the government must represent all people and quoted the provincial motto: From Many Peoples Strength.

“The comments made by this Sask. Party MLA are deeply hurtful and hateful to the Sikh community — a community which contributes so much to our province,” said Grewal. “Racism has no place in our province and certainly no place in the provincial government.”

Following question period on Wednesday, Grewal was joined by fellow MLAs Noor Burki and Bhajan Brar while speaking about the impact Hilbert’s comments had on him.

At times fighting back tears, Grewal said he “couldn’t believe it” after being made aware of her words.

“This is, to me, hate speech. It is not acceptable,” said Grewal. “It’s really hurting me.”

As for how Goudy reacted to the comment, Grewal said there have been a number of occasions in the past where Goudy intervened in debate during question period and MLA statements.

“I feel it that he has called many, many things, but he didn’t call this,” said Grewal.

Grewal said he’ll be speaking with members of the Sikh community about an appropriate response.

The Liberal candidate selected by Mark Carney to replace one who was dropped over a China-related controversy is a member of a Beijing-friendly lobby organization and has given talks at events honouring a Toronto group that advocates for the annexation of Taiwan by China.
1744289424722.png
Onetime Toronto police deputy chief Peter Yuen, who is now carrying the Liberal banner in the Toronto-area riding of Markham-Unionville, succeeded Paul Chiang. The former MP stepped down April 1 after news broke that he had talked to reporters about how someone could take a Conservative candidate and human-rights advocate to the Chinese consulate to claim a bounty put on him by Hong Kong authorities.
Foreign interference has been a significant topic in this federal election campaign, including this week when Ottawa’s election-interference watchdog announced that it had detected an information operation from Beijing aimed at shaping public opinion among Chinese-Canadians about Mr. Carney.
The new Liberal candidate as of Wednesday was listed as honorary director of the Jiangsu Commerce Council of Canada (JCCC), a Toronto-headquartered organization founded in 2002 with clear ties to China’s United Front Work Department. The UFWD answers to the ruling Chinese Communist Party’s central committee and oversees Beijing’s influence, propaganda and intelligence operations inside and outside of China.
Although listed as honorary director, Mr. Yuen said in a statement that his role with JCCC ended a decade ago. He declined to answer e-mailed questions from The Globe and Mail on whether he supports Taiwan’s self-determination, condemns China’s crimes against its Uyghur minority or disapproves of UFWD activities.

Liberal spokesperson Isabella Orozco-Madison said Mr. Yuen went through “a robust” vetting process by the party’s Green Light Committee before Mr. Carney named him the candidate to replace Mr. Chiang. During the Liberal leadership race, Mr. Carney met with the executives of the JCCC, according to its website, which described the former central banker’s entry into politics as “an important turning point in the upgrading of China-Canada relations.”

Facts hurt.
It has nothing to do with the Sikh community, and everything to do with supposedly Canadians supporting Sikh terrorists in India.

Speaking of terrorist supporters.....China invading Taiwan would be an act of war. Supporting this move from Canada would be terrorism against the Chinese community in Canada.

Liberal Leader Mark Carney says he had never heard of a pro-Beijing lobby group in the Toronto area despite photos on the Jiangsu Commerce Council of Canada’s website showing him with members of its leadership.🤥

As The Globe and Mail reported Thursday, Mr. Yuen is an honorary director of the Jiangsu Commerce Council of Canada (JCCC), which lobbies for closer ties with China and echoes Chinese government narratives. The Toronto-headquartered organization was founded in 2002 and has ties to China’s United Front Work Department. The UFWD answers to the ruling Chinese Communist Party’s central committee and oversees Beijing’s influence, propaganda and intelligence operations inside and outside of China.

Mr. Yuen has also given talks at events honouring a Toronto group that advocates for the annexation of Taiwan by China.

The Globe reported Thursday that during the Liberal leadership race, Mr. Carney met with the executives of the JCCC, according to its website, which described the former central banker’s entry into politics as “an important turning point in the upgrading of China-Canada relations.”🤫

The Jiangsu council says on its website that “in an in-depth exchange” with two of its leaders, Mr. Carney “highly praised the pioneering role of the Chinese business community in emerging fields such as clean technology, digital trade and financial technology.”

Mr. Carney told a Thursday news conference on the campaign trail that he was unaware of this group. “I’ve never heard of this group,” he told reporters. “I didn’t have a setup meeting with this group. Full stop,” he said.🤔
The Globe, however, had not reported that he had a prearranged meeting but only that he met executives. Photos on the group’s website show Mr. Carney with Xu Xiaoguang, president of the JCCC, which is also known in Chinese as the Jiangsu International Chamber of Commerce in Canada, and another with Jiang Rui, honorary president of the organization.

This, & the reaction to it, seems so familiar?
1744320175971.png
Sorta like when Justin Trudeau accidentally stumbled into a house full of Chinese billionaires who coincidentally had paid big dollars per plate for the private function and meet and greet, & ended up donating to the Trudeau foundation. These things happen sometimes….

The Liberal Leader said he encounters thousands of people. “I go to events where there are hundreds and thousands, you know, thousands, over the course of a day, of different people there. That is not a meeting. If somebody happens to be in the room takes a picture with me, that’s not a meeting, okay?” These things happen sometimes…

“Well, I’m sorry, but you can’t believe everything you read in The Globe and Mail,” Carney said.

His remarks were nasty in tone, he was snarky. He also seemed to be channeling Justin Trudeau who famously said, “The allegations in the Globe story this morning are false.”

All the scrutiny and questions may be getting a bit too much for Mark Carney as he suspends his campaign for a third time.
Carney has clearly been irritated and put his “elbows up” after being questioned about a number of controversies swirling around him. Among the recent issues that have put Carney under a glaring spotlight have been: why Brookfield Asset Management used a Bermuda bike shop as a tax haven while he was an executive at the firm; whether his previous jobs create a conflict-of-interest for him and whether he met a pro-Beijing lobbying group in Toronto, as reported in the Globe and Mail on Thursday.

Carney said he had never heard of the Jiangsu Commerce Council of Canada (JCCC) but the Globe pointedly revealed that there were photographs on the organization’s website showing the prime minister with two of its senior members.

All that heat must have left Carney in a flop sweat.

On Thursday, Carney said he was suspending his campaign to return to Ottawa to conveniently convene a meeting Friday of the cabinet committee on Canada-U.S. relations. The reason was to respond to the continuing fallout from U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs, according to the Liberals.

It also removes Carney from having to answer questions, & make it appear that he is actually doing something (while still in caretaker mode) because his only claim is that he can stand up to Trump when he can’t even stand up to media scrutiny.

But…but Wednesday Trump reversed course. He paused his decision about reciprocal tariffs on some countries and took no additional action on Canada? What was there to urgently respond to? Carney’s pause is smoke & mirrors (figuratively is supposed to literally this time).

The immediate need for Carney to flee to the safety of an Ottawa committee room may have had more to do with taking a breather from all those troublesome questions. What would happen if he actually had to face democratically elected MP’s (which he’s never been himself) in Parliament???

But it also has another benefit: it plays into the Liberals’ attempts to mythologize Carney as the only saviour of Canada from the enemy that is Trump. Carney must be portrayed as the chosen one, the hero of the hour, the slayer of beasts and the scourge of the evildoer, etc…
It wouldn’t be surprising if the Liberals installed a Bat Signal on top of Parliament with face on it.

But it has to be this way because the Liberals have no other plank on which to stand.

The housing crisis, the food crisis, the immigration crisis, the lack of infrastructure/investment crisis, the health-care crisis, the crime and drug crisis — all caused or exacerbated by nine years of Liberal misrule.

Who would vote for Carney if his platform was: Vote for Liberals because this time — pinky promise — we are going to get it right?

And so Carney versus Trump is the only platform. The Liberals can’t run on their record — who runs on a record of failure? Which is why we are witnessing the bizarre spectacle of Carney and his entourage of Trudeau ministers acting as if the last nine years had never happened.

Carney’s only hope of electoral success rests on him being portrayed as prime ministerial.

This means that he may have to stretch the limits of the caretaker convention that call for a government to act “with restraint” during an election period. The Privy Council guidelines do allow governments to deal with matters which are “urgent and in the public interest.” But who makes that call? Carney.

And so we have an unelected prime minister and novice politician making profound and significant decisions with regard to tariffs and retaliatory measures that may well hamstring a future government.

How can Carney read China's "mind" about why they SEEM to like him??? The question was biased and ill formed.
Carney is very intelligent, a problem solver, long career in finances , banking and with his calm manner seems to be the right man for the times.....the times being this crazy , unpredicatable, irrational, Trump era. He can and will bring new and fresh ideas to the massive problems that now exist ........again , thx to Donald, The temperament of the new leader must be calm rational, non over reactive as the Trump regime is volatile , and cannot be trusted or relied on to keep to agreements. Carney is smart enough to know what he is dealing with in the Don. Who is bent on destruction..... of systems in the USA , and relationships world wide. Trump is delusional and has to be "handled"...... as he is vengeful, hateful, resentful, and is doing his revenge tour as he said he would. Alliances world wide are starting to change as can be expected due to Trump's conduct.
Carney knows how to handle China ......... and right now.......IF China likes him.........that is not a bad thing at all. That is better than having China post cartoons about Trump on social media. China knows exactly what they are dealing with in Trump. China knows his vulnerabilities.
