How can Carney read China's "mind" about why they SEEM to like him??? The question was biased and ill formed.
Carney is very intelligent, a problem solver, long career in finances , banking and with his calm manner seems to be the right man for the times.....the times being this crazy , unpredicatable, irrational, Trump era. He can and will bring new and fresh ideas to the massive problems that now exist ........again , thx to Donald, The temperament of the new leader must be calm rational, non over reactive as the Trump regime is volatile , and cannot be trusted or relied on to keep to agreements. Carney is smart enough to know what he is dealing with in the Don. Who is bent on destruction..... of systems in the USA , and relationships world wide. Trump is delusional and has to be "handled"...... as he is vengeful, hateful, resentful, and is doing his revenge tour as he said he would. Alliances world wide are starting to change as can be expected due to Trump's conduct.
Carney knows how to handle China ......... and right now.......IF China likes him.........that is not a bad thing at all. That is better than having China post cartoons about Trump on social media. China knows exactly what they are dealing with in Trump. China knows his vulnerabilities.
can you provide some examples ? How much success did Mr. Carney have at the Bank of England ? Their local press suggest not so much . Maybe explain why he moves his companies into offshore tax havens . Where do you see Carney as a positive for Canada ?

Jagmeet Singh gets NDP supporters to jump as disabled attendee watches

Jagmeet Singh held a campaign rally in Saskatoon on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
Jagmeet Singh held a campaign rally in Saskatoon on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
Jagmeet Singh managed to get his supporters to jump in the air during a small rally in Saskatoon while a disabled attendee watched on.

The New Democratic leader made an appearance at Saskatoon West candidate Rachel Loewen Walker’s campaign office Wednesday and spoke about the important choices Canadians are facing.

Singh said people are worried about the tariff threats coming from U.S. President Donald Trump and the rising cost of living.

He also criticized Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre’s plans to cut spending while also taking a shot at Liberal Party Leader Mark Carney’s refusal to support pharmacare expansion.

Explaining that good things get done when one party doesn’t hold all the power in Ottawa, Singh said the NDP can get important policies and decisions pushed through that make Canadian lives much better.

“We’ve seen in history the best things that have ever come out of our parliament have been when New Democrats have been there,” he said, citing universal health care, pensions, old age security, employment insurance and, more recently, dental care.

After wrapping up his speech, Singh said he wanted everyone in the office to jump in unison as music that was barely audible began to play.

“We’re going to jump together at the chorus,” Singh said. “When the chorus comes, I want this floor to shake.”

The supporters jumped and moved their body to the music except for the disabled attendee.

“NDP leader seen tormenting disabled woman,” one person on social media said alongside the video of the rally.

“No, Jagmeet, I will not jump jump.”

One person replied that either the party couldn’t afford speakers or the song is playing off Singh’s phone.

Others called the end of the rally “cringe.”

“They must all be celebrating his golden pension,” another shared.

Saskatchewan Party MLA apologizes for calling federal NDP leader 'a terrorist'
'Comments made by this Sask. Party MLA are deeply hurtful and hateful to the Sikh community'

Author of the article:Alec Salloum
Published Apr 09, 2025 • Last updated 11 hours ago • 2 minute read

A Saskatchewan Party MLA is apologizing after calling federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh “a terrorist” from the floor of the provincial legislature.

MLA for Humboldt-Watrous Racquel Hilbert addressed her comments in an emailed statement issued Wednesday.

“I recently made an inaccurate and inappropriate statement about the federal NDP leader. I apologize for and withdraw that statement,” reads the email.

Hilbert told to ‘be careful’
Hilbert was elected in the 2024 Saskatchewan general election, having previously worked as a teacher. She is also the founder of a drilling company.

Following question period on March 25, Hilbert rose and spoke on the 2025-26 provincial budget. In her comments, she touched upon efforts made by the government to open trade offices around the world and find new markets for Saskatchewan products.

“We’ve built trade relations and worked to open new markets from Dubai to India, Brazil to Japan, Mexico to Italy,” said Hilbert, adding that the NDP Opposition and the federal NDP made those efforts “more difficult.”

“We did not hear the Opposition denounce their federal leader as being a terrorist in India and denounce the collateral trade damage to Western Canada,” said Hilbert.

Speaker Toddy Goudy did tell the MLA to “be careful” with her comments, but that came after she accused the NDP of “virtue-signalling.”

Asked Wednesday why calling Singh a terrorist was allowed to stand, Goudy’s office said it would not be able to comment due to scheduling constraints.

Singh responds
Speaking Wednesday in Richmond, B.C., Singh said Hilbert’s comment was “clearly a lie” and asked: “What’s happened in this MLA’s life for them to say that about me?”

The federal leader said he was worried about the underlying bias that motivated Hilbert to make that comment and how it impacts young people in Saskatchewan.

“What does it say to them when an elected official of their province is lying about somebody else calling them a negative term like that?” Singh asked.

‘Racism has no place in our province’
In an emailed statement, Saskatchewan NDP MLA Tajinder Grewal said the government must represent all people and quoted the provincial motto: From Many Peoples Strength.

“The comments made by this Sask. Party MLA are deeply hurtful and hateful to the Sikh community — a community which contributes so much to our province,” said Grewal. “Racism has no place in our province and certainly no place in the provincial government.”

Following question period on Wednesday, Grewal was joined by fellow MLAs Noor Burki and Bhajan Brar while speaking about the impact Hilbert’s comments had on him.

At times fighting back tears, Grewal said he “couldn’t believe it” after being made aware of her words.

“This is, to me, hate speech. It is not acceptable,” said Grewal. “It’s really hurting me.”

As for how Goudy reacted to the comment, Grewal said there have been a number of occasions in the past where Goudy intervened in debate during question period and MLA statements.

“I feel it that he has called many, many things, but he didn’t call this,” said Grewal.

Grewal said he’ll be speaking with members of the Sikh community about an appropriate response.

Saskatchewan premier says MLA's terrorist remark about Singh wrong and ’very, very inappropriate’
Author of the article:Canadian Press
Canadian Press
Published Apr 10, 2025 • Last updated 1 day ago • 3 minute read

REGINA — Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe says one of his legislature members made “very, very inappropriate comments” by calling federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh a terrorist, as a national organization representing Sikhs demands more accountability.

The World Sikh Organization of Canada said in a statement Thursday that more needs to be done to repair relations after the remark from Saskatchewan Party MLA Racquel Hilbert.

The organization called for Hilbert to be removed from her committee assignments and for all Saskatchewan Party members to undergo anti-racism and cultural sensitivity training.

“These comments are an insult not just to Jagmeet Singh but also contribute to the stigmatization and marginalization of Sikh Canadians,” the group’s president, Danish Singh, said in a statement.

“Disinformation and hate speech must not be allowed to fester within Canadian political discourse. Public figures need to be held to the highest standard, and hateful rhetoric should be met with swift consequences.”

Moe was pressed by the Opposition NDP during question period Thursday to “show some leadership” and condemn Hilbert’s remark.

“The member from Humboldt-Watrous has apologized and retracted those inaccurate and very, very inappropriate comments and I thank her for doing that,” Moe said.

He added that the programs and policies of his government show it’s committed to building on and embracing the diversity of Saskatchewan’s people.

“This province most certainly has been built for over 100 years now from many people coming from many places all around the world, which is why our motto is ‘From Many Peoples, Strength,”‘ Moe said.

NDP deputy leader Vicki Mowat told the house that Hilbert’s remark appeared to be not off the cuff but scripted, amounting to “premeditated hate.”

“How can this premier and his government possibly claim to represent the people from diverse communities of Saskatchewan, when they continue to have a member in their own caucus who holds and openly states such hateful views?”

Asked about Hilbert’s comment while on the federal election campaign trail Wednesday, Jagmeet Singh said he didn’t take it personally but worries about the message being sent to children.

During a budget debate in the legislature March 25, Hilbert told the house the government has worked to build trade relations and open new markets.

But it’s been “more difficult due to challenges presented by the federal government, propped up by the federal NDP, (a) federal NDP supported by this Opposition,” she said.

“We did not hear the Opposition denounce their federal leader as being a terrorist in India and denounce the collateral trade damage to Western Canada,” Hilbert said.

Hilbert went on to accuse the NDP of unhelpful “virtue signalling.”

At the end of her speech, Speaker Todd Goudy told Hilbert, “I just want to caution the member on some of the accusations there _ virtue signalling and others. Just please be careful with your comments.”

On Wednesday, Hilbert apologized in the assembly. “During my budget response speech, I made an inappropriate comment regarding the federal NDP leader.

“I wish to apologize and withdraw my comment.”

The issue has resonated with Saskatchewan Sikhs.

Harman Singh, a software developer in Regina, said Hilbert’s remark stigmatizes Sikh Canadians in the province and he called on her to apologize to the community.

On Thursday, Carney said he was suspending his campaign to return to Ottawa to conveniently convene a meeting Friday of the cabinet committee on Canada-U.S. relations. The reason was to respond to the continuing fallout from U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs, according to the Liberals.
(YouTube & LILLEY UNLEASHED: Is Carney dealing with Trump or inventing a distraction?)
It also removes Carney from having to answer questions, & make it appear that he is actually doing something (while still in caretaker mode) because his only claim is that he can stand up to Trump when he can’t even stand up to media scrutiny.
(YouTube & Was it necessary for Carney to pause his campaign again? Bureau chiefs panel – April 11, 2025)
But…but Wednesday Trump reversed course. He paused his decision about reciprocal tariffs on some countries and took no additional action on Canada? What was there to urgently respond to? Carney’s pause is smoke & mirrors (figuratively is supposed to literally this time).

(YouTube & LILLEY UNLEASHED: More political meddling by the Chinese government)
Who would vote for Carney if his platform was: Vote for Liberals because this time — pinky promise — we are going to get it right?
And so Carney versus Trump is the only platform. The Liberals can’t run on their record — who runs on a record of failure? Which is why we are witnessing the bizarre spectacle of Carney and his entourage of Trudeau ministers acting as if the last nine years had never happened.

“It’s a political rally, but it’s very deeply aligned with the truck convoy rally that went to Ottawa,” said Robertson?? Really??? Based upon what??
They don't vote liberal. Some probably do vote NDP though. This may be a BC thing, though. Lots of construction union members back the Freedom Convoy, but also vote NDP as per union dictate.
Robertson was a lying sack of shit when he was mayor, I doubt he has changed now. Especially since he is running for the party that rewards lying.

Obviously the Liberals are backing China's bid to
dethrone the USD as the global reserve currency In hopes of boosting the CAD against the USD but the USD is about to become a GLOBAL CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency.

Tariffs are the bait. Get on-board or get lost. What was the last count for "ass kissers"? 75?

A new unified monetary system no different than Bretton-Woods or the Plaza Accords but digital and block-chain. Criminal operators aren't be happy. USD has lost 10% of the reserve market in the past few years. The bleeding has to stop. Cold War 2.0 China and Russia are to be isolated.

That really depends who you listen to. The UK, like Canada and the US, is severely divided on right/left lines. The pro-Brexit people in the UK, largely conservatives, didn't like the predictions Carney was making about what the consequences of Brexit would be. The left, against leaving the EU, have nothing but good to say about Carney as the predictions he made did come to pass and he was able to take steps at the Bank of England to minimize the damage.

I see Mr. Carney's pragmatic approach and extensive experience in international economics to be just what Canada needs at this point in time. Poilievre is a dollar store Trump, and will just make a mess of things like his mentor to the south.

Like Trump in his first term, what’s Carney’s political experience? Somewhere around zero or close to it.

Unlike Trump (or Carney), Poilievre has a couple of decades of political experience.

Watergate-like dirty tricks front and centre in 2025 election
Now York Regional Police have arrested a second man in Markham for destroying Conservative election signs

Author of the article:Joe Warmington
Published Apr 14, 2025 • Last updated 9 hours ago • 3 minute read

It was a trap to nab an alleged sign-jacker, who was accused of partaking in election sign vandalism.
Conservative candidate Lionel Loganathan is pictured with one of his election signs in this supplied photo.
This looked like a sting set up to to catch a carjacker.

Instead, it was a trap to nab an alleged sign-jacker, who was accused of partaking in election sign vandalism.

Like in the Watergate scandal which broke half a century ago, being under the cover of the night was not enough to cloak these alleged dirty tricks. Move over Washington, this clandestine operation allegedly occurred in Markham.

Popular Conservative candidate Lionel Loganathan, who’s running in Markham-Thornhill, laid the bait. And the person they set the trap for, allegedly took it. It all stemmed from at least 20 of his election signs going missing or being destroyed.

“We had an anonymous tip; this guy was tearing down our signs,” said Loganathan.

He knew exactly what to do.

At the corner of Midland and Steeles Aves., “I put up some signs myself” and “waited across the street and had a coffee.”

By 9:30 p.m. Sunday night, the very person who a tipster said was doing this, got off a bus and allegedly started destoying his signs.

“We caught him the act,” alleged Loganathan.

After calling police, he and his volunteers rolled their cellphone cameras, and they captured a guy with one of their blue signs in hand.

Gotcha! Busted! As they approached him, what happened next is fascinating.

“Is there any reason why you’re smashing all of my signs?” asked the candidate, as shown in a social media posting.

“Yeah, because your f——- party is evil,” said the man.

Staying calm, Loganathan said “OK, but that doesn’t give you the right to wreck my signs.”

The man disagreed saying “this is public property, and you are polluting.”

The police arrived and took the man into custody in handcuffs.

“We have charged Alexander Curley with (two counts of) mischief,” said York Regional Police Const. Lisa Moskaluk. “His first appearance court date is May 20.”

Curley is innocent unless proven guilty. These charges have not been tested in court.

As backed up by information on his social media profiles, the accused man has worked in many capacities and also lists being a “Deputy Returning Officer” for “Elections Canada” in September 2021.

He is the second person arrested by York Regional Police over election sign complaints.

Last week, Const. James Dickson told the Sun that Peter Bekhit, 41, of Markham, had been charged with mischief and is to report to court on May 6 for untested allegations that Conservative Deputy Leader Melissa Lantsman’s signs were removed from the ground, destroyed and left in a dumpster.

With two weeks to go and the race getting closer, this sure has been a very nasty election campaign.

There have been many signs vandalized, mostly Conservative ones. There was Buttongate where people allegedly tried to influence an election by placing unflattering buttons inside a conservative group’s meeting at an Ottawa hotel. And there has been some Benedict Arnold/Judas-style betrayers of the Conservatives in favour of the Liberals.

It’s a real war out there this time as the Liberals cling to power and the Conservatives fight to get it. The gloves are off and in some cases, the rules are not being followed.

Sometimes you don’t know who is who? Is that person coming into an event interested in disrupting it or creating a photo-op? Are those election signs disappearing as part of an orchestrated campaign or is it just one of those things?

Loganathan wasn’t going to take any chances and did his own investigation. Sometimes sneaky election tactics work; sometimes they don’t.

You don’t need Woodward and Bernstein to know that on April 28, it will be law-abiding Canadian voters who choose Canada’s next leader — no matter how many dirty tricks are allegedly played.

Elections Canada missed voter card mailing deadline, says there's no cause for concern
Agency confirms some voters still haven’t received them despite April 11 deadline

Elections Canada voter card.
Elections Canada voter card.
Elections Canada is facing delays in delivering voter information cards, with some electors still waiting for their cards after the April 11 deadline, a spokesperson told The Gazette on Monday.

“It has proven challenging to identify and secure some polling locations in this general election,” said Florence Ryan of Elections Canada.

“This has led to delays in confirming polling locations and consequently production and mailing of voter information cards to registered electors.”

She said affected voters will receive their cards before advance polls, which open on Friday, April 18.

Election day is Monday, April 28.

On its website, Elections Canada says voters who have not received their card by Friday, April 11 “may not be registered or your registration may not be up to date.”

Voters can check whether they are registered — and where they can vote — by checking with Elections Canada using either Elections Canada’s Online Voter Registration Service (ereg.elections.ca) or by calling its voter hotline, 1-800-463-6868.

The voter information card provides key information, including whether all eligible voters in a household are registered and where and when to vote in advance polls and on voting day.

People can cast ballots without their card, but voters are encouraged to bring it with them, along with accepted identification, to make the voting process easier.

Elections Canada says there are several ways voters can prove their identity at voting stations. For more information, visit the Elections Canada website at elections.ca.

I had an inclination and b'y Jesus it turns out highly probable.

The Unifor Multi-Employer Pension Plan is a defined benefit plan where the employer makes contributions, and members receive a pension based on those contributions. Brookfield is a major investment firm that may manage assets within pension funds like Unifor's. The Unifor Multi-Employer Pension Plan itself is managed by a board of trustees, which includes members of the Unifor union.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Unifor Multi-Employer Pension Plan:
This plan provides pensions for Unifor members working in various industries.

  • Brookfield's Involvement:
Brookfield Asset Management and its subsidiaries are large investment firms that manage substantial assets, potentially including a portion of Unifor's pension fund.

  • Plan Management:
While Brookfield may manage assets, the Unifor Multi-Employer Pension Plan itself is managed by a board of trustees representing the union and employers.

Moving Brookfield to NYC is more than likely to avoid the RCMP than it is taxes.

Unifor represents media workers at several large national and provincial newspapers, including the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, London Free Press, Toronto Sun, and Hamilton Spectator, as well as at smaller community papers in British Columbia and other locations. They also represent workers at television broadcast outlets like Global, CHEK TV, and CHCH. Unifor's media sector is made up of both local and national newspaper and digital news publishing, and also television broadcast workers.

Key Unifor Media Outlets:
  • National and Provincial Newspapers:
Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, London Free Press, Toronto Sun, Hamilton Spectator, Vancouver Sun, The Province.

  • Community Newspapers:
Surrey Now Leader, Burnaby NOW, New Westminster Record, Prince George Citizen, and others across B.C.

  • Television Broadcast Outlets:
CHEK TV, Global Vancouver, Global Okanagan, Global Edmonton, Global Calgary, Global Lethbridge, Global Winnipeg, Global Toronto, Global Ottawa, CHCH.

  • Other:
Bell Media, Rogers, Postmedia, SaltWire Network, Winnipeg Free Press.
Unifor's Role in the Media:
  • Unifor represents workers at the largest national and provincial newspapers.

  • Unifor Local 2000 in B.C. represents workers at dozens of smaller community papers, including some owned by Glacier, Black Press, and Continental.

  • Unifor Media One represents television broadcast workers across Canada.

  • Unifor is actively organizing to represent more workers at various media outlets, including Bell Media.

Waaaaaaaaay too much conflict of interest going on here....

CUPE pension plans in Canada, including any potentially managed by Brookfield, are typically managed by a combination of CUPE's own internal committees and external professional advisors. CUPE pension trustees and plan advisory committee members act as the guardians of these plans. Brookfield Annuity Company is a provider of group annuity solutions to defined benefit pension plans, including those managed by CUPE.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
CUPE Pension Trustees and Committees:
CUPE has its own pension trustees and plan advisory committee members who are responsible for overseeing and managing the pension plans.

Brookfield Annuity:
Brookfield Annuity Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Brookfield Wealth Solutions, provides group annuity solutions for defined benefit pension plans, including those potentially managed by CUPE, according to the company's website. This means Brookfield Annuity may be involved in the actual administration and payment of benefits within certain CUPE pension plans.

External Advisors:
CUPE plans may also utilize the services of external investment advisors and actuaries, who provide expertise on investment strategies and financial planning.

You obviously did not do much reading on the damage Carnage did to both Canada and Britain. If you are getting your information from far left rags, you are getting dogma, not facts. The main thing to remember is is Carnage, like TurdOWE is a globalist. That automatically makes them ineligible to look out for Canadians best interests.
