Unless we bring industry back to Canada, all the jobs and wealth creation will go south. The U.S. does not need Canada's markets, and without an industrial base, unless we start making things again, starting with refined petroleum, steel, processed primary metals and lumber.. we won't be able to afford what America produces.
We'd have to rebuild. All Free Trade did for a lot of folks was send nice new machinery southward when the Union put wages out of hand or management wanted the stuff to replace out-dated stuff in the States

Yep, it's amazing how many people can't see that. (I think the A$$hole side of Trump emerges when he's not busy) :)

No, the a$$hole side of the Dumpster emerges because he is an a$$hole. I've been watching this clown off and on for about 40 years and his narcissistic personality has remained the same.

I agree. Canada has dumped its agriculture industry and its manufacturing. It has become mainly a tourist attraction with a fairly decent service industry. In a way, it is a 'bedroom' community for immigrants who come here to get citizenship and a passport then go back 'home to return only long enough to retain their citizenship and collect benefits when it pleases them.

Well, we've got our own "trump" card. We've got lots of water and they're running out.

Military Indestrial Complex meets frozen North. Canada can pay the bills if fortified as in the frortress North America considerations. Resistance is futile. Fortress North America the last stand of DEMOCRAZY.

wE WILL PRAY FOR aLIENS INTERVENTIONS, INTERGALACTIC RELIEF EFFORTS. ICEBURGS THREATEN ATLANTIC SHIPPING, THE HEAT IS U

Trump is proving to be an action man, which is what most countries need. I've been saying all along that TPP was crap, and NAFTA needed to be changed to benefit more Canadian workers. These free trade deal agreement provided an out for CEO's to move businesses out of Canada/US to save money on labour, all at the expense of Canadian/US workers who need more than $6/ hour to survive. The top 1% have gotten very rich with trade deals. I hear Trump is already moving with XL, I'm starting to like this man more and more.

Trump is pulling back the American front lines, an ordered retreat, maybe

Is Trump pure Holly-Wood or the real thing? I don't know.

can't understand why they don't get how easy that is.

that is why the guy who discovered the recipe for gun powder, the magic sauce, was considered the last great alchemist:
the hunt stopped there

Canada builds more cars than it sells to Canadians, so I'm sure Trump will want cars destined for America to be built in America.
Parts are built in both countries.

If Canadians and particularly immigrants purchased domestic cars, we would be assured of a healthier auto industry.

Japan, Korea nor Germany have US cars or not many.

That should read these countries have NO US cars

If Trump is at our backs, Canada better make sure not to drop the soap in the shower, or invest heavily in Vaseline.

This sort of development would fit in nicely with opening up the expansion at the NOVA plant. They produce plastic pellets that are used in a variety of manufacturing processes. They travel along quite nicely in a pipeline and in a 'spill' they are considered to be 'non-toxic'.

If Trump is at our backs, Canada better make sure not to drop the soap in the shower, or invest heavily in Vaseline.
You mean 'yellowed pork-fat' right?? Please tell me you knew what it was made from.

If he doesn't have ours then we have his and a good commander always breaks ground for the troops. Has it been that long since the US had a good one??

What can we say but, 'We'll adapt.'

Don't believe Trump has Canada's back. Trump has one agenda.. put America and American workers first.. he does NOT care about Canadian workers, that's our job, the job of the Canadian government.

I think Trump understands the philosophy behind "United we stand, divided we fall" Wasn't that an American slogan to begin with?
