I say I agree with your position that the middle class bear most of the tax burden and you respond with this.

This is not a classroom nor is it a courtroom...do your own reasearch and form your own opinion from it. Believe that no atrocities were ever condoned or instigated by the US if it makes you happy. I don't think giving chapter and verse of any episode would change your opinion so why would I bother to waste my time.

Same goes for the economic policy...look it up if you care or believe what you like...

Just in case you don't know how to use google I will this 1 time give you a break - Answers.com - What was the highest tax rate in US history

If you bother to read it this will aslo show how when the rich pay less taxes it leads to depression or recession.

Goober - since you miraculously disappeared yesterday ( i'll give you the benefit of the doubt you had something to do) after I posted this in response to request for fact here it is again. Please note how the lowest tax rates for the rich and corporations were the years leading up to the depression and the recessions.

If the legislation eliminating the long gun registry dies because of an unnecessary election I will go out and canvas for the conservative party.
Is that all it takes to get your vote. Rather a cheap price for selling your vote I would say

If we're going by the polls it's:

1. Healthcare
2. the economy
3. The Environment

As for economic recovery how long term is that going to be if all the experts are correct on climate change?

And I think anybody who gives a damn about our democracy would care about how poorly it's been treated the last five years. If you really are a vet then I respect you for that, my grandfather was with the CEF in France in WW I and re-enlisted to train the next generation who went to fight for something more than just selfish short-term interests(which seems to be what this government is all about) in the 1940s.

I think you take my analysis of the Canadian Public as condoning bad behavior by politicians. I don't. Personally, I am less than happy with the conservatives, but I also understand that the Liberals are in no position to govern. I see this push for an election as an act of desperation on their part and it is going to cost us a ton of dough. Even if (as some will say) the conservatives orchestrated this, the Liberals are being very stupid. With a bit of time they may have been able to swing public opinion of their party and gain momentum, but instead they are throwing the dice. At best they will sit in opposition again, at worst they will give the Conservatives a majority. This reeks of the same stench when after the last election Jack Layton tried to form a coallition. Its stupid desperate politics and in the end the loser will be the Canadian public.

In regard to what you said about service. I had two Great Uncles who also served in CEF, they are still buried in France. My Grandfather served in the second war. My family has a proud history of service all the way back to the Boer War. In my family I am a fifth generation, and my oldest son is a sixth generation.

All have served this country with pride.

Yes 35 Billion for fighters....either we are capable of assisting in our own defense or not.....and defense is one of the very basic responsibilities of government. The universal social safety net is not.

This isn't going to make us able to defend our country any more than we already are. Just put every person in Canada
a few grand in the hole.

I have never denigrated the abilities of Canada's soldiers....but to truly "punch above their weight", while maintaining a minimal level of enlistment, they need the very best equipment.

Yeah go to Afghanistan and do a turn in Kandahar to see just how above our weight our boys are punching. Always have always will.

I vote for it because the other parties, singly or in coalition, are so much worse.......

I disagree.

First of all, that coalition never happened. did it? Had it happened, I would never have voted Conservative again. Why do you think it never happened???? Explain that......

It never happened with the NDP Bloc and Liberals either. So why all the fear mongering that the coalition whose members differentiate only via the Liberals vs the Conservative/Reform coalition. It's just more Harper bullshyte putting the fear into people like you without anything to substantiate it. One minute you are worried sick about a coalition the next a coalition is no big deal. Your back must hurt.

Elect the Libs NDP and BQ with enough seats, and it WILL happen.......if you do not extract a firm promise from the leadership of your parties "No coalition that includes in any way the BQ".....then we'll get back to arguing the platforms...

There is nothing to fear from a Liberal led coalition government. At least we could get the economy back on it's feet again and not spend all our time trying to eliminate all the other parties and spending Canada into the poor house.

Oh, BTW, if you plan on voting other than CPC without such a pledge????.....well, here's your sign back.

It looks good on you.

As for McGray, I'd have executed the SOB after his third murder conviction....problem solved....and please refrain from telling me what I "might" have done, you don't know me that well.

Morin, Marshal, Milgaard, Driskell, Truscott, you should be hanged for their murder if you had your way. I mean if we did things you way. Good thing no one is about to give you enough rope to be dangerous.

I would never force a prisoner to stay in a cell with a proven homicidal maniac when BOTH men are complaining about sharing a cell with the other........

Yeah well hind sight is 20/20 isn't it? It's easy to be second guessing all of this with the benefit of having seen the outcome, but when it's down to you, and you ass is on the line over it, well it's a different perspective.

The problem is two fold............the BQ gains influence in a coalition, thus gets even more bribe goods for Quebec.....more importantly, the BQ becomes elevated as a force in the eyes of Quebecers.....they become seen even more as the best way to achieve the aims of Quebec.....that is a huge negative for the country as a whole. The BQ needs to be contained, ignored, powerless....we need to encourage Quebecers to turn away from the BQ....and the LAST thing we need do is INCREASE their influence in gov't.

The reason Quebeckers feels they way they do is because of a policy of containment, powerlessness and being ignored.
Maybe more people in Quebec would buy into federalism if they weren't so alienated by people who think the way you do.

The Bloc isn't going to get anything they can't get now supporting a minority government. That Harper has totally alienated the Bloc only shows that he and the Metoobaggers can't run this country. They have scandal after scandal piling up, bankrupted the government and now have us involved in two wars we can't win.

As a side note. My Mom went to school with Bill Shatner in Montreal. He carried her books a couple times.

That's so gay! heh heh

I did yes, I said I gave you the benefit of the doubt.
Not good enough - if you are going to be sarcastic at least try to be a tad a Wordsworth, or creative. .

I do not need, nor do I require your "benefit of the doubt"

I have seen how you try, and taking a wild guess you are as follows:

Well educated - Then you did not gain your monies worth. pay your parent back the monies wasted.

Not well educated - the I along with others will assist you in that failing.

Lastly - Still waiting for the 10 atrocities - Or was that drivel?

Sorry if simple words and sentences are beneath you. I happened to get my education in commerce and macro-economics instead of something useless like communications or creative writing which is where you probably went for yours so my money was quite well spent as I understand what is happening to our economy and how our leaders are trying to screw us over. You can teach somebody else how to be a poet if you like but not me.

As I said before, continue your blind faith that the US would ever commit any atrocities if you like. I am not going to do reasearch for you especially when you probably wouldn't believe proof if it grabbed you by the tongue and smacked you in the face.

Have a nice day!

No, it means we can step up to the plate and fight with our allies in those places that require our presence in defense of western civilization and values. Arseholes want to let the USA do ALL the pulling, while they get to whine and cry and criticize, the entire time hiding under the eagle's wing. It disgusts me.

Yep. No doubt. A job made easier by Conservative purchase of equipment to help them. The ****ing Liberal scum sent them there in uniforms that stood out like sore thumbs, and 80,000 dollar ****ing garbage vehicles that wouldn't stop a ****ing decent sling shot.......and didn't give a ****. Spare me the "oH such Canadian heroes" while they are dying because your ****ing buddies in Ottawa won't pay the bills........NOW you're pissing me off......A little less lip service (a favourite of Liberal scum)....a little more support.

All I ask is a commitment from your scumball heroes that it WON'T happen, or run honestly on the possibility.........and watch the CPC take an easy majority

]Unforgiven;] There is nothing to fear from a Liberal led coalition government. At least we could get the economy back on it's feet again and not spend all our time trying to eliminate all the other parties and spending Canada into the poor house.

You keep ignoring the facts....the Liberal/NDP want to spend MORE money, abnd that's not even counting what they'll have to spend building Arenas in every Quebec village with a population of over 1,000. THINK man.

It looks good on you.

Everything looks good on me....it suits you better.

]Unforgiven;] Morin, Marshal, Milgaard, Driskell, Truscott, you should be hanged for their murder if you had your way. I mean if we did things you way. Good thing no one is about to give you enough rope to be dangerous.

You don't read so good....or have any of the above been convicted of three separate murders, in front of three separate judges and juries?..........for the very reasons you espouse, I only advocate the execution of mass killers, and then only after they have been convicted in three completely separate trials. McGray would qualify.......

Yeah well hind sight is 20/20 isn't it? It's easy to be second guessing all of this with the benefit of having seen the outcome, but when it's down to you, and you ass is on the line over it, well it's a different perspective.

True, to an extent.....but still...it seems common sense would dictate, as McGray constantly spoke of his need to kill....

What ****ing touchy-feely brain-dead, HORSECRAP!!! Unbelieveable!!! The Quebec tail has wagged the Canadian dog for 50 plus years, WAKE UP and smell the coffee! Even better, read a poly sci book, or a history book.....Quebecers have been PM for the vast majority of the last 60 years..... Quebecers vote for influence........and if they are to leave the threat of separatism behind, they need to be convinced that the political parties based on that hope DO NOT get them anything.......seems a simple concept...

Are you wearing your sign????

*Sigh*

Did you know that until 2005 the UN was forbidden from telling a national leader that it could not kill its own people?

Did you know that starting in 2002-2003 it was Loyd Axworthy to single-handedly push it through the UN for it to be legal to stop a leader from killing his own people?

Did you know that therefore, the reason we are in Libya now under UN legal ordinance is because, and only because, of Loyd Axworthy?

He didn't get the press for shaking up and reforming UN focus and direction like Pearson did, but darn it, it is he who did it.
You keep ignoring the facts....the Liberal/NDP want to spend MORE money, abnd that's not even counting what they'll have to spend building Arenas in every Quebec village with a population of over 1,000. THINK man.
Think what would happen if you actually balanced *income*.

Why not take the income from those most able to pay?

Did you know that in the US, deregulation let things go so extreme that now there is 400 people who own as much as the next 155 million Americans?

Did you know that those top 400 people, who would fit in a small auditorium, do not pay taxes?

Can you imagine what it would do for their national budget if that 400 had to pay taxes like everyone else?

Do you cup the balls when you suck the Eagle Colpy?

Step up to the plate?

Here's an idea, how about we just stay home and let the world sort it's self out?

The US could do itself a favor and do the same.....simply can't afford to be running around the world intervening in others people affairs anymore.

That's a liberal policy and sadly the only one you embrace.

I wonder what 35 billion would do for wait times in hospitals....you know....the ones the cons promised to shorten 4 years ago.

I wonder what 35 billion would do for education and ever increasing tuition fees in an education hungry world?

I wonder what 35 billion would do to invest in alternative energy incentives to create green industry here?

I wonder what 35 billion would do for public transit and infastruture?

I wonder what 35 billion would do for the mentally ill living on the street?

I wonder what 35 billion would do to increase the tax excempt ceiling for the poor?

I wonder what 35 billion would do to lower our deficit?

I wonder what 35 billion would do to lower our debt?

I wonder what 35 billion would do for CANADIANS and not Lybia or some other frigged up crap hole I care nothing about?

Do you mean the same western civilization that brought us the meltdown of the world economy from greed and mismanagement, the same one that brought us MacRaunchy's, obesity and chronic respiratory diseases from pollution, or the one that brought us an endless litany of wars and support for brutal dictatorships who allowed our corporate masters to rape and pillage their natural resources..... etc.
Yup.! That sure is something worth defending alright.

I see people saying the Liberals and the NDP want to spend more money, well the
fact is the Conservatives have spent more money than anyone else and the whole
debt and deficit thing is back where it was when Paul Martin came and straightened
it out. Who ever comes to power is going to have to clean up their mess.
Same thing in BC the people complained about the NDP and now the debt is way
higher after a decade of the Liberal Conservative coalition in British Columbia.
The Tories can't keep spinning the line about spending they have wasted more money
than anyone else in a very long time.

Hey Grumpy, You should check out Dana Larsen's website. He has some really good ideas to bring to the table if he can win the NDP leadership here in BC. I think its votedana.com
