I happened to get my education in commerce and macro-economics instead of something useless like communications or creative writing which is where you probably went for yours so my money was quite well spent as I understand what is happening to our economy and how our leaders are trying to screw us over. Simple sentences are not beneath me at all. I prefer simplicity over the convoluted way you have of making a statement - then do not always as they say - show me the money - the proof - the stats. If you find it offensive that posters ask for stats or proof, i suggest that you get used to it.

As to who does not pay taxes - yes I agree - but every economist knows that when a tax rate hits a certain percentage - what should be a revenue increase in fact turns into a loss of revenue.

The Tea Party is NOT "going after teachers and the poor". They are - rightly and perhaps too late - are going after the unions, who were and still are the guilty party of pricing themselves out of a job and sending that job oversees.

I was taught by teachers who were dedicated to children and considered teaching and working with children an honourable VOCATION and not a job. In contrast, the teachers today confuse VOCATION with vacation (two months in summer) and teach their spelling skill to unsuspecting kids, resulting in the insane idea that every kid must be equal, nobody can fail, because it would hurt the kid's self-esteem. They must figure that it's better to have the self-esteem of the child who grew up be an adult, hurt on the unemployment line because their indoctrinated charges are illiterate and unemployable.

Spare me the crocodile tears. Let the teachers have a secret vote if they want to belong in a union. I bet that those who are truly dedicated would vote NO.

The Parliamentary system's established conventions never cease to amaze me due to their utter lack of logic and common sense.

When a minority government presents a budget and the power-hungry leeches in opposition don't like it (they never do) they can bring a government down, because they lost confidence.

So, if a majority government's budget does not inspire confidence, why does not it fall? Is is the budget or is it confidence? Is it insanity or insanity?

Please tell me: When does the Opposition EVER have confidence in the Government? Is it not their job to have no confidence? Is it not why they are called "OPPOSITION"?

Lots of people living in Quebec and since the French helped settle, form and build this country, they should have a say in it just like the English do. It's people like you that make Quebeckers want to separate from Canada. They do seem to have a strong ability to produce Prime Ministers. Many natural leaders come from French Canadian stock. I count that as another great contribution to Canadian history. Often those English Prime Ministers Campbell, Turner, Joe Who? Harper, leave much to be desired when it comes to leading the country. Of course many Prime Ministers from Quebec have led the country out of despair and aimless wandering to prosperity and focused direction.

Any province can at the direction of the majority of the eligible voters in that province can leave the confederacy.

Ethics - Libs do not have the Cons beat - But the Con have sealed up different at arms reach such as Nuk Reg and others that the transparency issue is correct - Harper failed on that - to many examples to count

The sop he offered for low income seniors - The senior would qualify if their income was under 2 k - Really generous

Harper planned this budget as an election platform.

The saving he plans in the future will come from services - Social safety net and others - Otherwise he will not have the funds -

More prisons is not a real good plan - better justice system would be - The Fed and Prov Govts have great programs for directing youth away from crime etc - starved for funds.

As I read today and it made sense - The Libs and the NDP have to state clearly that they could form a coalition - BUT they would also have to be clear - The Bloc would not be included - Any pandering to Quebec & the Bloc would be a killer for each of them in the next election. And if they did, the cons would have a cakewalk to a massive majority.

So guess what - They would have to work with the conservatives in many cases. Reason - No one in ROC wants the Bloc having any power at all.
