A secondary government that has no constitutional authority in that particular sphere.
First Nations have every right and in fact the only right to decide these things on their property

BTW the supreme Court is currently hearing an appeal that will result in recognition in Canadian law of aboriginal primacy in all these matters which is why the deadline etc.

Canada had agreed to follow the UNDRIP and will begin amending our laws accordingly.

This is also the reason for the removal of the neb as a rubber stamping agency.

I see all the white supremacists on here are still having trouble accepting natives as human with human rights. They still think they can run roughshod over them as they have for the past 500 years.

Is that why every FN directly impacted by this pipeline signed off on it? And KM had to get them signed off before proceeding with the construction same as every other landowner directly impacted by this Pipeline.

Less than a third have agreements and pretty much every agreement they have contains clauses that cannot be met.

Did I mention that kinder no longer wants this project due to unforeseen expenses? No longer makes financial sense - just like energy East.

Do you think every FN tribe deserves to be included in the pay off or only those that have direct ties to the impacted area? Over 40 bands signed off on the project, Trans Mountain isn't going anywhere the suspension threat just happens to coincide with spring break, and the due date just happens to be about the right time to get back to work for the summer season ;)

You are arguing with a guy who voted 3 months too late for the BC election last year.

Yeah, really, 3 months.

I only have to remember back to July when WE had an election and elected a government that promised to stop this expansion.
I voted on May 9th like everyone else.

This is more about whose property is threatened by this project than it is about payoffs.

But good progress there in updating your claim from every FN to 40 (of 150).

That's who they are buying the rights from isn't it? and that is who they are making the commitment to for making things whole if something did happen. There is a whole contract involved in purchasing access to property the Oil company just doesn't give you a check and say good luck with cashing it SMH

What about the people in the fishery whose livelihoods and inheritance is being threatened .

Why no voice for them?
