Kind of is reminiscent of Trump believing that he will bring China to their knees as the USA is largest buyer/consumer... In the grand scheme each nation has much to gain and much to lose.

In terms of O&G, Canada and the US have a similar dynamic

BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

You just compared the population and economy of Canaduh to that of China?

Damn, you're desperate!

Morneau just finished saying how good the Canadian economy is, i.e. Lowest employment, best growth etc etc,,,

I think this was his way of saying he does not need the KM pipeline to benefit the Canadian economy which is already doing well, so this clearly means the Libs are not untested in pushing the p/l thru. Ie it's a dead duck!!

Should read **not interested**

IMHO BC has absolutely no authority to block a project of inter-provincial movement of goods in defiance of the federal gov't.
The federal gov't is the predominant power in the nation, as was intended when we became a nation. They have sole power over this project, and BC needs to lead, follow or get out of the way.
I hope the feds get together with Alberta, buy the project, create a security force armed with shields, batons and pepper spray especially for the construction, and build it, including roads etc necessary for that construction, and completely ignore the gov't of BC. Create the necessary legislation to prevent protesters from blocking construction, and arrest anyone that gets in their way.
Any legislation introduced by BC to block the construction in any way, or to block the shipment of bitumen through the lines, or the subsequent loading and shipping of the product should be disallowed by the feds.
They have the power. Use it.
Dammit Trudeau, LEAD!
We need to do this.

Gun nut does not believe people should have freedom of choice - except for owning guns.

What a shock.

We have freedom of choice, we exercised it in the 2015 election of our representatives, who are overwhelmingly in favour of this pipeline.

Try again.

The very idea of freedom repulses you.

Unless its owning guns.

When it comes to guns the government has no business telling people what to do.

Thats what makes you such a joke.

Oh and NDP leader suggests Liberals take this whole pipeline issue to the Supreme Court - which the Liberals quickly decline to do. I wonder why?

Oh I know - its because there is already an appeal there that is going to invalidate the NEB approval of a pipeline through lands belonging to First Nations - as per the UNDRIP agreement that Canada signed on to.

So what Canada really needs is to ignore the Supreme Court.

And they are good at doing that.

Yup, BC should just bend over and take that great big black snake up the arse.
Settle with the indigenous people first. There are almost no treaties in BC so it is still their land. BC is an illegal province. Canada has no jurisdiction over native land. The RCMP, the Crown, Ottawa and particularly Alberia can shove it where the sun don't shine.

The Fatal Costs of Kinder Morgan

Exporting oil — like exporting fentanyl — is a death sentence for some.

When we hear about smog at all, it’s reported as a problem in some distant developing nation’s capital, like Beijing or New Delhi. By comparison, Vancouver has no problems.
But as good as we think our air is, it’s still killing 21,000 Canadians a year — about two every hour, day in and day out.
Now Kinder Morgan has blinked about its Trans Mountain expansion, and both Ottawa and Edmonton have risen in wrath to reprove British Columbia and its government. The Globe and Mail in an editorial has blamed B.C. for “an economic and constitutional disaster,” topped off with a charge of “naked hypocrisy” as John Horgan’s NDP government is worried about the environmental hazards to Burrard Inlet from shipping Alberta’s dilbit to Asia, while also promoting LNG shipments to the same markets.
The hypocrisy charge is fair enough, especially in the light of air pollution deaths. Even if not a crumb of dilbit is ever spilled anywhere between Burnaby and Shanghai or Yokohama, when it’s converted into fuel and burned it will poison the air. The same is true of LNG, and even truer of the coal we’ve been happily shipping out of Roberts Bank since 1970.

2 B.C. oyster farms closed after norovirus outbreak | CBC News

Human sewage suspected

.. And the ecoweenies have no issue with this

Interestingly many of the eco warriors living in this area(Bowser) are against a community sewage treatment system. They much rather have their mostly ineffective septic tanks leak into the ocean. And every shit tank in Deep Bay leaks directly into the ocean where one of the closed farms is. Many of these same people protested a proposed coal mine 12 km inland in this area because it might damage the oyster industry.I know this because some of the houses that had no coal mine signs now have no sewage treatment signs.

Gun nut does not believe people should have freedom of choice - except for owning guns.

Sorry sonny but we already chose OIl and Gas and coal exports.
This is why teenagers are not given the right to vote.

Wallowing in their own feces appears to be their preferred position in life.

i say, let them pat themselves on the back and enjoy the bounty of the norovirus that they have inflicted upon themselves

As you are both a lefty and a complete ****ing idiot, I guess I shouldn't expect you to understand the slightest thing about individual rights and/or how to run a government.

We had an election in 2015, if you can remember back that far.

We elected 283 MPs from the Liberal and Conservative party, both of whom represent their constituents in wanting this pipeline built.

Only 46 are opposed.

Do you understand that? Or do I have to do the math for you too?

Stupid question; 83.7% of MPs support the building of this pipeline.

Do you get that dimwit?

Do you understand how democracy works?

Now, the difference between this and over reaching gun control is that gun control is a question of individual rights, and the pipeline debate is a question of constitutional authority, and has nothing whatsoever to do with rights.

No go away and contemplate your errors.

I only have to remember back to July when WE had an election and elected a government that promised to stop this expansion.
