Just so we are clear. I am not in the "Rah Rah" section of the Khadr Camp. I just do not see him as a visible threat. He has become too high profile, which is to say I doubt he''l be skulking around the Jihadist websites. Secondly, I believe he was a child soldier (or if you prefer child terrorist), but was a child nonetheless, and we should gotten him out of Gitmo long ago. I have changed my original position on this from long ago, I had little empathy for him in the past. Like any kid inducted into a cult, we should have tried to deprogram him. The Khadr's are scumbags, no doubt about it.
The accusations that the PM is racist is stupid, His support of Israel inflames the anti-Semites all over the Muslim community and lets face it. Anti-antisemitism is just another word for racism against Jews .

I'm not on any one side in this. I have an opinion and I am sharing it with all of you, everyone is entitled to theirs and I respect the fact that some don't agree with me. That's cool by me.

Like RCS said.......his view reflects mine exactly.

Um... Vietnam was about protecting American economic interests in Nam. .

The USA had no economic interests in Vietnam.

Vietnam was about supporting the French government initially, and then it was red-scare time politics. Initially, the US administration supported Ho Chi Minh. He could not believe it when they aided the French return.............it was simply that the USA valued France as an ally more than Vietnam.

Cl;iffy, you should refrain from commenting on things you know nothing about.

Murica doesn't get into conflicts unless its in their own interests to do so. Their interests being securing the status quo for their rich owners.

They ruling class which owns Murica was afraid of communism because the rich pigs would have been lynched in the streets had communism take hold. So this led to an illegal invasion of Vietnam to shut down the voice of the working classes, the common man.

You really have to expand your reading beyond science fiction.

One of these days you will realize that nobody on any side of any conflict is speaking for the common man. Both sides say they are but both speak for different ruling classes (to use your terminology).

I also might add we seem to have drifted off topic. Cliffy, you should start a new Vietnam thread. I find the discussion (well most of it) very interesting.

That's not caveman mentality, it's evolved thinking. We're slowly realizing the status quo is horse****, capitalism is garbage.

LOL

Capitalism has made more people rich and free than any other economic system.

Communism has made more people poor, miserable, oppressed and dead than any other system.

Capitalism may have made some rich here, but it comes at the expense of billions of poor in third world countries. Just look at central America where once sustainable farmers made a living, they have been bankrupted by American owned United Fruit Co. Where once there was a diversity of crops, now there are mono crops and those former farmers are destitute. It is the same all over the world.
