Sometimes I find it annoying when every time I post something, the resident idiot on here rears his ugly head, but you have to be philosophical about these things...................it says more about him than it does about me! -Nah, the wife just had a cataract removed this morning, she's slowed right down (for a few hours) -
I'm not talking about economics or business, I'm talking about the serious duty of governing an entire nation and the legacy of people like my grandfather, who served in the Canadian Forces through two world wars, of freedoms that many other people in the world can only envy.
Even if Harper was the best businessman in the world, which judging by the massive debt he's built up during his time he isn't, it still wouldn't excuse him for the determined attacks he's made on our freedoms...see the links I posted above.
And unless your name actually is Stephen Harper stop taking my comments personally if you want to discuss politics with me.
The troops over there didn't set policy, the Harper government did, and the evidence indicated they could be exposing those same troops to charges of human rights abuses in the future by being in the chain of custody of detainees that were eventually tortured or even killed by Afghan authorities our troops handed them over to. It's become more than obvious that neither Harper nor his government can be trusted on giving honest and accurate information, this was one of the more glaring cases.
If our forces were in the chain of custody then legally it could be argued that we bear some responsibility. It also may have motivated more attacks on our forces by Afghans who had relatives and friends sent into captivity by us.
The soldiers didn't decide to go over there, and they certainly didn't choose to be a prop for the conservative government. Their job is to represent Canadian interests in often extreme situations, the way the conservative government under Harper politicized the mission was unacceptable. But part of the pattern of a PM that has gone so far in trying to permanently brand this country with his ideology.
I knew that there was more to this story than just what's at surface.... I smell a conspiracy... A conspiracy to launch a New World Order
So my question is: why assert such a silly thing as you did, in the middle of a debate on federal leadership? lol.
That wasn't a concession speech. I'm not surprised that someone who places political stock in a celebrity boxing match had to have that explained to them.
