well when you whole belief is based upon certain events happening in a certain manner/order then yes, they will care.

Believers will believe regardless of facts. That is why it is a belief.

Or there is much more to this existence than we see.
More to this universe than we shall ever understand with our present mindsets.

we choose to believe what we think we know thus what we believe is coloured by a vast array of unrelated variables...it's no wonder there are so many religions, but fact too can manipulated, I learned to easily manipulate stats to conclude what needed to be concluded thus I conclude facts are fluid too

I fully agree...and variables come into it as I stated above, even facts can be twisted...anything can be twisted and the twist is both a benefit and a curse depending upon how it is used.

No, that's why it's faith. You don't need facts, you just need faith...

Should repost that one in the AGW thread.

and if you don't have faith, it's because you are somehow personally lacking and/or perhaps just too stupid to grasp the concept

That's how they control their congregations. With out their congregation how are they going to maintain the level of financial security they've come to enjoy?

Myself I make my religious beliefs as simple as possible.

some of the large evangelical churches do yes

there are a lot of little grass roots congregations though that do a lot for their communities

Idiots abound from the Religious to Atheists. Can't get rid of them, can't get away from them, they are everywhere, much like a Biblical plague. Reason I recommend a cull.

More Gnostic Gospels... pure fiction.. likely of relatively modern composition. Search for the same source as Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code.

It's a hoax.

no matter how complex it becomes with mystic experiences etc. or biblical revelations it still comes down to the same easy basic of love, which pretty much sums up everything really ...we had a long conversation on this very topic this morning...what I tend to lose sight of, or more accurately what I currently need to focus on is gratitude, (love of what I currently have) in my quest to move forward with this or that, I lose sight of exactly the blessings and gifts right here and right now

it is simple

lol...you are right of course and in the end, it's just about us, how we present ourselves, how we view others and issues and what we make important in our daily lives

1500 year old text- Approx 500 years after Jesus was crucified - managed to make it thru time.
Of course it must be authentic.

If it is on the internet, it must be. :p

It's a hoax.

Should fit right in with the rest of the Bible in that case.

The facts do not support the biblical narrative either. At this point it is about choosing which hoax to have faith in. Your faith is no better than anybody else's. It is only relevant to the individual. Just because a whole bunch of people say one hoax is truer than another doesn't make it truer. The monkey tribe from Jungle Book comes to mind.

That "Wee Island" has twice the population and many times the global influence of Canada.

Twice the population and a hundred times the influence. It would be a very good subject for a thread. How is it that a filthy overcrowded uneducated population supported mainly on alcohol and prostitution retains so much power?

They say Jesus was a Jew had a beard and was thirty. That means he was married.
