I don't list to AM talk radio. Why? Is there a disproportionate number of clueless that listen and follow the goofballs who took a 6 week course in broadcasting?
I know what you mean, but N.D.P. has run some successful provincial gov'ts in the past on the prairies, but it does depend on sensible leadership.
...and oil
$300 million / 20 million taxpayers = $15.00 / taxpayer
On that dime, I really wouldn't care if we have an election once a year. It would definitely make us more democratic.
...and Ontario was pumping oil long before that. When did Sask start drilling? Time frame too much for you?You mean AB has oil where others don't? Saskatchewan has a lot of oil ( I agree not as much as AB) but this oil that is being produced now was always in Saskatchewan and it was widely known it was there. It was just that the prov was not business friendly and hence no one wanted to go there to produce it.
BC has a lot of Nat Gas. Plus a lot of mines.
MB has a lot of mines as well.
Well I'm not sure if that's the case if you look back a little further in the past for the prairies. I remember a time when the NDs got into Manitoba and a lot of large companies started leaving. I'm also not sure they did a great job in Saskatchewan either, just look how well it's doing now under a different party. Before this they were a have not province.
And we shouldn't forget how badly they screwed up BC.
Contrast this against AB who has had a Cons gov as long as you can remember. AB has never been a have-not province. There is no reason other western provinces should have been a have not province if they had proper management of the province .
Actually the N.D.P. under Dave Barrett 1972- 1975 in B.C. wasn't all that bad, they brought in some legislation that stands to this day. Designating arable land and setting up the Agricultural Land Reserve whereby nothing in that reserve could be subdivided into anything smaller than 5 acre parcels. They lost the next election because old retiring farmers couldn't subdivide their land into city size building lots and got pissed off because they didn't stand to make an easy $million bucks.

Well, ok, if you say so!!
As you say, he didn't last too long tho !!
No, he was voted out for greed.
I lived in Fernie and worked in Sparwood in that time. I invested - like thousands of other BC'ers - in bumper sticker saying: "I CAN'T BARRETT!".
Hahaha, goes to show you, greed will get you all the time!!
I wonder if theirs a message there for Jack ??
Well voters are always greedy, we think its our right !!! LolI meant the voters were greedy, not Barrett..............particularly.
Old koots are usually very wise !!If so, u r an old koot.....enay
Hey, I'm an old koot and most people I know just think I'm crazy. I want a status card that says I'm an old koot.Old koots are usually very wise !!
One should pay close attention to what they say !!
Barret was before bennet, no? If so, u r an old koot.....enay
Really? I never knew that. Last I checked SK was put deep into debt by the PCs who ****ed up so badly they don't dare call themselves Conservative anymore.Well I'm not sure if that's the case if you look back a little further in the past for the prairies. I live in the west kootenays. I just missed your hyphenation. Must be the half-hiemers.an old kootenay has a different meaning. those two towns he mentioned are in the east kootenays, a region in BC
Whacky and Billy-Bob.Barrett was between Bennett Sr. and Bennett Jr.
