The MV Rachel Corrie and another ship are due to deliver food and medicine to hungry and sick Gazans on Saturday if they can make it past Israeli pirates.

All the videos I've seen indicate that activists possessed only weapons of opportunity, indicating they didn't plan to fight Israeli pirates. The most likely sequence of events is that Israeli pirates fired on the activists first with tear gas and rubber bullets. When they boarded the ship and tried to lay a beating on the activists like they did on the smaller boats, they encountered a large angry mob armed with weapons of opportunity. Sometime after the Israeli pirates started getting their asses kicked and activists seized Israeli pirate firearms, Israeli pirates resorted to lethal force to prevent a humiliating hiding, resulting in a senseless slaughter.

Welcome back EAO....I thought you had gotten lost!

First of all, an article on Law from today'ws Globe and Mail.

Israel’s naval blockade pitches and rolls with the Law of the Sea - The Globe and Mail

This was NOT piracy.....it was the attempted inspection of material bound for an entity in armed struggle with Israel, and therefore perfectly legitimate......EXACTLY the same as Canadian troops have been doing at sea ever since 9-11.

The Commandos boarded with paint ball guns and sidearms........under Canadian law, if you attack me with a club or knife it is perfectly legal for me to reply with gunfire.

It becomes increasingly obvious that the idiot activists on board sought martyrdom, and the kind hearted Israelis helped them along.

No ... it is not "EXACTLY the same as Canadian troops have been doing at sea ever since 9-11." Only you and your propaganda want that to be so. Canadian troops have been inspecting for weapons of war, terrorists and countering pirates whereas Israel is enforcing their own economic blockade in order to starve Gazans into compliance with Israelites. There is no way Israel will ever be satisfied. Cool thing is, you "yes people" will fall the farthest.

Canada has been involved in the naval blockade in the Persian Gulf for 19 years.

How many people have we killed in those 19 years?

Re: America’s Complicity in Evil

There is no justification in killing someone when it isn't necessary. I could add nasty stuff but won't.

When someone attacks you with a club, knife or steel rod killing becomes necessary.

Attacking inspectors is not necessary.

How come inspections of 4 out of 5 ships passed without incident?

Because the would-be martyrs only attacked on one. Completely their fault.

How many people have we killed in those 19 years?

How many people have been stupid enough to attack the Canadian military on board?

The answer is the same for both questions: none.

The Canucks were taught: shoot first, twice to the chest, once to the head.

Standard.

I am truly sorry Islamist morons are suicidal idiots seeking death.....but I have no sympathy for them when they get what they (LITERALLY) were looking for......

If you were on a 'humanitarian' mission to bring 'aid' to people, why would you start out the trip planning on martyrdom?

That kind of talk might fool some people, I suppose.

Well you have to admit...these ships accomplished exactly what they set out to do. Bringing supplies was secondary...if that

Exactly and this is a propaganda battle that Israel lost in a huge way which I find oddly enough disappointing.

I didn't think they would be this savage and stupid enough to take the bait.

For a people that claim to be hated they sure have a funny way of trying to spruce up their image.

What were the Israelis to do?.. Lose the propaganda war by capitulating to the hate-boat AND having their naval blockade broken?

Killing 9 when under attack by idiots with lengths of pipe, and AFTER sustaining casualties is NOT a rampage.

Even under the Canadian Criminal Code you can use lethal force if you or another person are in immediate danger of death or grievous bodily harm.

When I taught armed defense, we taught (in compliance with the code) that a person that was THREATENING you with a knife or blunt trauma device could legally be engaged with gunfire if they were within 6 meters.

I know a couple of the Canadians that were boarding ships, and believe me, if anyone had attacked them with a length of pipe, they would have been immediately blessed with a large number of additional orifices in their bodies. And rightfully so.

Israel is held to a MUCH higher standard than anyone else.

This is ludicrous.

If the incident had occurred within Israeli waters, I would have been entirely in agreement. This incident occurred beyond Israel's jurisdiction, and so was essentially an act of piracy.

To take an example, if an RCMP officer enters my home in Canada with a warrant, that's valid. If an FBI agent enters my home in Canada with no warrant, he's an intruder, plain and simple, like any other thug.

Looking at it that way, had the ship been in Israeli waters, then that ship could have been reasonably engaged in accordance to Israeli law.

In international waters, only international laws apply, and they had not violate one single international law by just sailing a ship. Israel had crossed beyond its jurisdictional authority, and so those on the ship had every right to defend themselves against an act of piracy on the part of the commandos. Yes, it was foolhardy to fight against such odds, but the moral right was still on their side as long as they were outside of Israeli jurisdiction.

To take Canada as an example:

If a ship is heading towards Canada, until it actually enters Canadian waters, it is bound by international laws only, and no national laws apply to it until it enters national waters.

This would mean that as long as such a ship does not violate international laws, a Canadian Coast Guard ship would have no legal or moral right to board that ship without proper international authorization, and to do so would legally be an act of piracy on the part of the Canadian coast Guard.

If the Canadian Coast Guard is intent on stopping that ship legally, it would first have to wait for that ship to enter Canadian waters and then proceed as per Canadian laws.

Why would Israeli law apply beyond its borders?

Exactly.... The supplies were secondary. The flotilla acted according to Israeli operations - just at the edge of the law where they know they will provoke something.

Do you really really believe the Mossad and CIA didn't know the contents of those ships or have agents aboard long before setting sail?

This was not an unannounced attempt at running the blockade and was well publicized.

What stopped these IDF "heros" from escorting the ships to Gaza and supervising the transfer of cargo in a manner that would reflect the common sense of the 21st century human?

There were plenty of options other than kill and plenty of other options for the aid mission as well.

Face it. Israel blew it big time.

What?? Perhaps the Germans were only helping the Jews get to their God in WWII.

You have said a lot of very stupid thing over the time I have known you but even this is a new low for you.

Clear up you intentional lie about Hamas rejecting the aid in that convoy. Come on you little prick show your true black heart.

At the edge of the law doesn't cut it when they're also at the edge of jurisdictional authority (i.e. not even within Israeli waters).

Clearly this was a calculated move on the part of Israel to send a message and warning to others to not even come close to Israeli waters, essentially an attempt to expand its jurisdictional authority into international waters.

What were the Israelis to do?.. Lose the propaganda war by capitulating to the hate-boat AND having their naval blockade broken?

They could have waited for the boat to have entered Israeli waters and then deal with it in accordance with Israel laws.

Imagine for a moment a Canadian police car storming across the border into the US to arrest someone for having dome something that would have been a violation of Canadian law had it been on Canadian soil.

This is essentially what Israel had done by enforcing its laws in international waters.

FACT: It occurred in International waters

FACT: A number of martyr-seeking fanatics ran a naval blockade. Only a certified retard would voluntarily put themselves directly into this position and later b*tch about being treated better than they should have actually been treated.
If Israel is dishing out the 'blows and bullets' and if anybody complains it is b*tching but if anybody speaks against Israel that is worse than the blows and the bullets. At this time Israel would willingly killsome of it's own in an attempt to put the blame on others. All you have to do is examine all the 'ante'semitic' crimes (painting things up) complaints over the world over the last few years and reveal the ratio that the events were done by Jews themselves.

As it is none were doing more than tell their version of events. To do this in a better fashion there should have been a UN person there that could take a very detailed account starting from when they first boarded.

And Israel swallowed the bait.

And yet all Israel would have had to do would have been to wait for the ships to enter Israeli soil and then deal with them in accordance to Israeli and international laws.

Then they would have been well within their rights to board the ship in accordance with Israeli laws, and fight back if attacked. In international waters, it was technically and legally an act of piracy on the part of the Israelis.

Just to clarify, this has zilch to do with Jews. The Israeli government must not be equated with the Jewish Faith.

Oh the poor Palestinians suffering must continue......
What would be the point of taking the batteries out of the wheelchairs? It's the equivalent of a trait another of your hero's, Dubya stuffing explosive devices into frogs.

You obviously would agree that Israel did a great job of destroying much of Gaza during operation 'cast-lead' (the complexity of the planning was probably longer than the 6 month long cease-fire that preceded the bombardment), now you seem to be cheering that they have the same conditions as before the bombing. To refuse them the materials to repair the damage from that operation only means 'cast-lead' is a small portion of a larger operation that was in effect before and after. Why do you not promote that fact about your handlers? BTW you eventually end up being an embarrassment to their side rather than some super-hero.

There were atleast two ships that claimed U.S. registry, I have very little sympathy for them or their crews also. I do not believe in private activism, that is what criminals do. As for the Exodus, people like winners.
All they were doing was avoiding some paperwork, to have the Rothschild money already having a large number gathered on Crete just for that 'photo op' still cost them some of their own, after that the boarding of ships ended and free immigration began in earnest. What was it Colpy, about 500,000 in that first gold rush. Odd that the inflow just happened to keep pace with the villages that were cleared by men with bat in the middle of the night, not so odd when you realize creating Israel is not the end all of entertainment for the Rothschild so they only invest a certain amount as the 'whole game' only has certain dividends.

Those weren't civilians swimming out to meet those ships, it was the military, Turkey will supply the military for their ships from now on. Who protects Ireland from being attacked by the UK?

And yet all Israel would have had to do would have been to wait for the ships to enter Israeli soil and then deal with them in accordance to Israeli and international laws.
This is to establish the legality of that blockade. Killing some in a night raid will hasten that investiagation, dropping a few inspectors off in the day-time (with video and sound). Nobody tried to run JFK's blockade on Cuba but only military hardware was on the list. Humanitarian and civilian suppliers entered unrestricted (from what it was because of Castro). So far nobody has cared enough to bring this blockade's legality, as far as I know it is not UN sanctioned.

Then they would have been well within their rights to board the ship in accordance with Israeli laws, and fight back if attacked. In international waters, it was technically and legally an act of piracy on the part of the Israelis.
That should not deture that the destination was Gaza City, Gaza not some Israel port-of-call. Even then at the last minute Israel took them to a different port than the ones given to the public because there were too many reporters.

Just to clarify, this has zilch to do with Jews. The Israeli government must not be equated with the Jewish Faith.
Faith is their whole claim to the land.
