The MV Rachel Corrie and another ship are due to deliver food and medicine to hungry and sick Gazans on Saturday if they can make it past Israeli pirates.
All the videos I've seen indicate that activists possessed only weapons of opportunity, indicating they didn't plan to fight Israeli pirates. The most likely sequence of events is that Israeli pirates fired on the activists first with tear gas and rubber bullets. When they boarded the ship and tried to lay a beating on the activists like they did on the smaller boats, they encountered a large angry mob armed with weapons of opportunity. Sometime after the Israeli pirates started getting their asses kicked and activists seized Israeli pirate firearms, Israeli pirates resorted to lethal force to prevent a humiliating hiding, resulting in a senseless slaughter.
Welcome back EAO....I thought you had gotten lost!
First of all, an article on Law from today'ws Globe and Mail.
Israel’s naval blockade pitches and rolls with the Law of the Sea - The Globe and Mail
This was NOT piracy.....it was the attempted inspection of material bound for an entity in armed struggle with Israel, and therefore perfectly legitimate......EXACTLY the same as Canadian troops have been doing at sea ever since 9-11.
The Commandos boarded with paint ball guns and sidearms........under Canadian law, if you attack me with a club or knife it is perfectly legal for me to reply with gunfire.
It becomes increasingly obvious that the idiot activists on board sought martyrdom, and the kind hearted Israelis helped them along.
