Personally, I don’t think much of the credit goes to Obama. He gets the credit to the extent that I assume he told the Navy to do what they considered appropriate to rescue the captain, he didn’t try to micromanage the operation. Beyond that, I don’t think he deserves much of a credit.
But then I didn’t blame him at the top of my lungs as the right wingers did. If somebody blames Obama for the hostage situation and credits somebody else for the rescue, it shows the rank partisanship of the worst kind.
Personally, I don’t think Obama was in any way to blame for the original situation, and I don’t think he deserves all that much credit for resolving it (except for the fact that he probably gave the Navy pretty much a free hand).
