Sorry lone wolf, in my post #218, I referred to you as JLM. My mistake and I apologize.

Believe me I would like to stop, but I'll be damned if I let a pompous phoney go sit on his laurels and ASSUME that he got the best of me.

SirJosephPorter, this forum, this thread is NOT Quantum Mechanics. And NOBODY needs to assume anything about the Periodic Table of the Elements any more.

Yukon, you cottoned on to it just now, did you? You have been off topic much earlier than me.

And even though you would argue otherwise, you are no scientist of any sort, whatsoever.

Again, that is only your opinion, isn’t it?

Well I guess - according to typical liberal logic - the rooster caused the morning by crowing and so he woke up the sleeping minority.

Re your #223:
Your opinion = I surrender

Re your #224.
Refer to #221 and #222.

Take a deep breath, have another 40 winks and come back to this thread/forum sober.

SirJosephPorter, using a colloqiual expression one never hears north of Alabama, you thought you had this poor immigrant with minimal knowledge of the English tongue totally swamped and buffaloed. In other words, you thought you were shi**ing in high cotton.

Cottoned on to what? Did I ever say that this forum is like science? Did I ever say that Mendeleyev's Periodic Table needs affirmation that it is more than just an opinion?

Being off topic: please give historical data based on post numbers on this thread/forum to prove that I was off topic before you were.

And, for once in your life please DO NOT JUST ASSUME!!!

This entire post doesn’t make sense, Yukon Jack. Are you speaking in code? Or maybe speaking in tongues?

It is a British expression, not an American expression. So it doesn’t surprise me that EagleSmack doesn’t seem all that familiar with it.

JLM, I remember, in the first chapter of The Hobbit, towards the end Bilbo says ‘Hear, hear’.

The dwarves have never heard of the expression, so Thorin asks ‘Hear what?’

I believe Obama is already working on his re-election by focusing on Osama. Should he have a hard time with the Economy he will need a war to get himself re-elected.

By leaving Iraq, Obama is making sure the body count drops in a war that is unpopular makes the people at home happy but still requires a war in Afghanistan he can make up points with at the Pentagon, Wall Street and the people.

Let's all face the fact that Obama must find the best way to get re-elected NOW. An impossible target to prove alive or dead in Osama should you actually capture him is the ultimate prize in your back pocket.

So looking at it from the Republican perspective I would throw out a sacrificial lamb for 2012 and hope for 2016 when Obama must leave.

Looks like he is not planning for a re-election anytime soon. No amount of standing up for them can erase this. There is no excuse for Clinton laughing or Obama kowtowing.

Ironsides, you mean to say that this issue (Obama supposedly bowing to the Saudi king) is going to stay alive until 2012, and that Republicans are going to run on this issue? By ‘erase this’, I assume you are referring to his supposedly bowing to the Saudi king.

If that is the case, I feel sorry for Republicans indeed. If that is the case, Republicans may as well concede the 2012 election now and end all the suspense, rather than get slaughtered in 2012.

I can just picture the 2012 campaign, Obama running on his record (assuming he has been able to turn the economy around), promising to cut the budget deficit in his second term, and what is the Republican candidate’s (Joan of Arc, or whoever it is) slogan? Obama bowed to the Saudi king, so vote for us.

The Republicans have no one yet to run in 2012, yes they are in trouble. The Democrats are starting to split with issues, so maybe they can just come up with someone other than a Socialist. There have been good Democratic Presidents, unfortunately not this time. Don't think that H. Clintons actions won't effect him also. This particular piracy incident could have been ended days ago with little or no blood shed.

SirJosephPorter, it is not as simple as that. The very essence of being American is that no American bowes to royalty. They are amused by them they laugh at them, they pity them, they ridicule them, but NEVER EVER bow to them.

The fact that Obama displayed - literally and figuratively - that his spine is as soft as linguini and as straight as a snake, will never be forgotten by Americans.

So be as complecent as you want to be. Nobody in his right mind would have predicted in April 1977 that a Republican lanslide would come in 1980.

And, of course, follow your trend of ASSUMING again, as far as the economy.
