What profits?, there getting it all free at least at first. Iraq will be armed with the finest weapons in the world, and yes there will be many military contracts. Money, money money for our military industrial complex = jobs.
Ha, Ha! Iraq will finally have their weapons of mass destruction. Will you invade again?

Iraq Celebrates US Army Withdrawal

December 15, 2011 "Reuters" -- Iraqis burned American flags, brandished banners and thronged the streets of the western city of Falluja to celebrate the withdrawal of US troops.
Some 3,000 people flooded the mainly Sunni city carrying Iraqi flags, banners with "Falluja: The City of Resistance" printed on them, and photos of Falluja residents killed by US forces after the 2003 US-led invasion.

Good for the Iraqis. They never deserved any of the hell they were put through on the basis of mega lies. This "war" will continue to remain a black stain on the US as it should. Will the US learn anything from this "experience"?? probably not.

Little wonder there is little fan fare when the troops come home. It is embarrassing to claim Victorious in this sorded situation. A little humility might be part of this too. (or is it humiliation at spending over a trillion dollars on a war that hardly anyone knows the reason for. and has not known (for a fact) from the onset. No need to go with the liberation lie........as that was the last ditch lie...when those stockpiles (red faces would be very appropriate on the part of a few hi level US politicians ) of WMD.

********************

ot for a moment but what the heck is wrong with the many and varied sources I post?? At least I post some , while so many others just react with poster bashing attempting to derail the topic. Well, guess what. It matters little that some have so little to contribute to the conversation and even less supporting links. Each to his own. As long as you enjoy doing what you do on here.

cheers

Soviet? Don't you ****ing dare call Ukrainians Soviets. You'll end up toothless.

what in heck are you talking about?? Did you read the article??? Or do you dismiss the articles I post because they are sources you have no time for???

either that .or you have been slipping into the wine celler and embibing a bit early ...

Iraqi Girl tells of US Attack in Haditha

Ten-year-old Iman Walid witnessed the killing of seven members of her family in an attack by American marines last November. The interview with Iman was filmed exclusively for ITV News by Ali Hamdani, our Iraqi video diarist.

1: These Pages Depict The Horror And Reality Of The US - Anglo
(warning: images of this "war" The anquish that many suffered , the personal losses, the terror they lived under .......)

Lest we forget: That Torture became "acceptable " to the invaders and they recorded it via camera for the world to see.
Lest we forget how badly the whole "justice" thing for SH was mishandled and they could not even do a proper lynching with out botching it . NO person warrants that kind of death. That is what distinquishes the civilized from the uncivilized. Those that laughed about it, gave bush SH personal gun as a trophy......belong to the latter.

the list of LEST WE FORGETs will continue to pile up as the dust begins to settle from this horrific decision and 9 yr tragedy.

War Without End, Amen: The Reality of America's Aggression Against Iraq
Written by Chris Floyd Friday, 16 December 2011 12:47
In March 2003, the United States of America launched an entirely unprovoked act of military aggression against a nation which had not attacked it and posed no threat to it. This act led directly to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people. It drove millions more from their homes, and plunged the entire conquered nation into suffering, fear, hatred and deprivation.
This is the reality of what actually happened in Iraq: aggression, slaughter, atrocity, ruin. It is the only reality; there is no other. And it was done deliberately, knowingly, willingly. Indeed, the bipartisan American power structure spent more than $1 trillion to make it happen. It is a record of unspeakable savagery, an abomination, an outpouring of the most profound and filthy moral evil.
Line up the bodies of the children, the thousands of children -- the infants, the toddlers, the schoolkids -- whose bodies were torn to pieces, burned alive or riddled with bullets during the American invasion and occupation of Iraq. Line them up in the desert sand, walk past them, mile after mile, all those twisted corpses, those scraps of torn flesh and seeping viscera, those blank faces, those staring eyes fixed forever on nothingness.
This is the reality of what happened in Iraq; there is no other reality.

War Without End, Amen: The Reality of America's Aggression Against Iraq

An eternal black mark on the empire's face. That too, is the reality. A reality that the "justifiers" "rationalizers" and war supporters refuse to face. yielding a secondary tragedy of how a population can be duped and then too stubborn to admit the truth due to some flaky pride factor. There is no pride in any of this horror. No matter how some will choose to spin it to make themselves feel better .

Generation Y has been indoctrinated the same way Boomers and Xers were indoctrinated to have a hate on for Soviets.

Animaniacs - Baghdad Cafe - YouTube

The more things change the more they remain the same.

.....and the indoctrinated will say that they are not indoctrinated. That's how effective their indoctrination is.

(OT......but love your new avatar. Gosh, what a flash back .....to a time when I visited "Universal Studios " in LA and saw him live. Just the same in attitude , posture etc as when in his role .;-)

Q: on a personal level....were you indoctrinated to "hate" the Russians?? or to "fear " them ???

The US is blind to the price of war that is still being borne by the Iraqi people

Every effort must be made to thwart those who seek to embellish and distort America's lamentable legacy in Iraq

As the US leaves Iraq, it is blind to the price for intervention paid by Iraqis | Gary Younge | Comment is free | The Guardian

Yep. indeed. The place to start is to ignore all US based "news" media. One never hears anything on there about how the Iraqis REALLY feel, and are REALLY doing. It prefers the cinderella ending of " and they lived happily ever after " ( totally accepting the fiction /fantasy that is spun for consumption. )

They didn't follow the directions right. It's hard to imagine a bad grilled cheese, but melty perfection isn't a given. Here, the James Beard Award-winning cookbook author behind this year's Grilled Cheese, Please!, Laura Werlin, reveals five ways to fumble this deceptively simple sandwich.

We went into Iraq for two reasons. 10 Oil and 2) They tried to assassinate Geo. Bush Sr. On both accounts we really failed. The Oil is now flowing back into pipelines moving through to Europe and other neighbors. Bush SR looks like a dead man walking now. $800 billion dollars later we have over 4,000 dea and 40,000 wounded not to mention the PTSD vets out there being ignored.
