We dined on BBQed salmon, watched a movie, played games, and then went outside and blew off a half hour's worth of fireworks. :D

Kids are useful that way..

With my teen I never have to worry about anything in the fridge... :-(
That is true Francis. When the rat pack arrives every Monday and Tuesday they not only clean out the fridge they clean out the cupboards as well. Then they come in from the garage asking if they can each have a pop or should they share one??? (depends on how many cans of pop I have doesn't it!) I'm actually going to start cutting up bins of fresh fruit and veggies for them to chow down rather than having the junk food in the house. Helps us all.

We had BBQ'd steak, baked potatoes, veggies, garlic toast for dinner. Then a couple of hours later our daughter-in-law made a chocolate fondu fountain. She cut up numerous fruits for us to dunk. It was great. At midnight we all had a glass of bubbly peach juice in wine glasses so the kids would think it was extra special - I don't know how they managed to stay awake for so long. I absolutely dragged at work today and the strongest drink I had was a Diet Rite cola!
Lots of alcoholism in my family but only in the generation before mine (except for two cousins). I guess I would never become an alcoholic because - I just don't like it.

Hello,and Happy New Year!!
I need your help again.I'm writing an article about 'how Canadians spend New Year"
Could you tell me something about this?It's really interesting you spend New Year six times..So were there any parties out?I heard something about party in a town hall in Toronto..
I would be very grateful for any information or your pictures
Regards
In the City of Edmonton, the city council held a 'family friendly' New Year's eve. They had free transit fares till around 3 a.m. They had, in Churchill Square, in middle of downtown, They had fireworks at midnight; family crats, children's crafts; bands (music);

I did a 5km Resolution Run, got home in time to catch the end of the Canada/USA game (thrilling!) and headed out with friends for the evening! It was a good New Years!

My daughter went to a 'black and white' party downtown with her friends. they were smart and took a 2 bedroom suite downtown so they wouldn't have to drive home. We (my husband and I) ate delightful stuff we wouldn't normally eat (frogs legs breaded in panko crumbs and then deep fried, and Cornish game hens), drank some good wine, watched some tv and reveled in the falling snow that was illuminated by the blue lights that we have on our pergola out back. We went to bed before the New Year, but were awakened by our girl who phoned us at 12:05 a.m. to wish us a good new year. It was a good time! :)
