Good morning Talloola. I am kind of glad to see the Flames go down to the Avs. I figure since the Canucks trashed the Avs the other night, that might just dim the Flame's ego a bit, now the Canucks just have to make sure they retrash the Avs tomorrow. If the Flames were a few points behind Minnesota it wouldn't hurt my feelings. Canucks look fairly solid for the moment anyway.

Yes, I watched that game last night, couldn't tell which team was going to
rise above the other, but finally the avs put those two goals in one right after
the other, then held off the flames for the win.
We don't play till Friday, which is not a good thing, as too long a layoff always
seems to make teams too dull for awhile, so hopefully they can overcome that
and come out with lots of energy.
Don't know why our schedule has to be so lopsided, lots of games then no games
then lots of games then no games again, upsets the flow.
Colorado is in Edmonton tonight.

Canucks 5 Avs 2

The Canucks gave the Avs a two goal lead in the first period, got one back in the second, and scored four times in the third to win the game 5 - 2.

Canucks had that terrible first period so typical of a team that has been out for
too long, played much better in the second, then their freshness and the avalanche
tiredness really showed, and they came on like gang busters. Good for them, this
game and the win will set them up nicely to play well against chicago on Sunday,
and that will be a tough game, (although chicago will be on the back end of back
to back games), but they are also very young and might not show any fatigue at
all.

Canucks 4, LA 1

Last night the Canucks scored one in the first and added another three in the third to beat the L,A. Kings 4 - 1. Wellwood had a goal and an assist which was good to see as he has been struggling a bit.

Empty net goal, missed the first attempt, they gave him a second pass and he put it in.
Canucks played well, with exception of the 2nd period, where they packed it in, and
became very lazy, well they shed that attitude in the 3 rd and played well, and came
out with the win.
Edmonton tomorrow night.

I "watched" the game on the radio so I missed a few things. It sounded like he was more involved in the play than he has been in other games.

slightly. Maybe the assist and the empty net goal, and the standing ovation for scoring
it will give him a boost.;-)
They actually gave tanner glasse's goal to wellwood at first, then when they announced
that it was really glasse's goal, everyone bood glass. First time a canuck has been bood
for scoring a goal at home.;-)

I believe the score is now 6 - 3 for Vancouver over the Oilers with a period to go.. The Canucks got a little sloppy and let them back in the game.

Just like Craig Simpson said, when a team gets up that much so early in the game
it is extremely hard to keep up that intensity, he said he's been there many times,
and it doesn't matter what the coaches say or what you say to each other, but they
managed to keep coming back after lapses, and then scored more goals to finally
put them away.
Big game tomorrow against San Jose, so these last two wins are so important, as
san jose is the top team in the NHL, and it will be tough.

Vancouver beat the Devils 5 - 2

Luongo had to be sharp in the net to come away with the win. Brodeur didn't seem as strong for New Jersey. Both of these goalies will be playing for Canada at the Olympics.

Big win for canucks last night, it puts them on a real good note, to win the first
game of a 4 game road trip, as no one expects them to win them all, but last
nights win was valuable because jersey has been playing so well, are near the
top of the heap, lemaire is coaching, and he always has a responsible defensive
team.
Philly will be tough tonight, as they are not playing well, and their coache's job
is beginning to be talked about, so they will be sctratching and clawing to win a
game, beware of the wounded bear.

I didn't watch the game because it was on Pay Per View but I did look at the highlights. The Canucks were outshot 38 to 29. Looks like Luongo is back in the zone again. Let's hope they can keep it up.

Raycroft will be playing tomorrow, glad he didn't play last night, although the team played well, there were lots of shots on luongo, and a few superb saves, don't think Raycroft would have stoppedall of them, and that isn't a criticizm of him, just reality.I like him, and I hope the team plays well for him tomorrow.

For all the flak Raycroft took in Toronto, I don't think he was the problem as much as the team in front of him: the Leafs just chose to follow the Detroit example of several years ago and blame the goalies for poor team defense. I think it played hell with the mindset and confidence of a quality goaltender and I think he can rebuild his career in Vancouver. The Cannucks with Luongo and Raycroft have one of if not the top tandem in the league, in my opinion.
