I don't see anything on programming for tv, at this point, it seem like it
is only on radio, or canucks.com

If canucks pull off another win tonight, they can be proud of themselves, as
Anaheim is icing a very strong team, they have come into vancouver to WIN.
Canucks have some of their regulars sitting out, so they have their work cut out
for them, and Raycroft is in goal.

The Canucks skated to a tie and lost the game in overtime. The Canucks had some chances in OT but T. Selanne popped in the goal that won the game.

If the preseason is any indication of what the regular season holds, then the Canucks are going to be great.
Vancouver opened with six consecutive wins and holds the best exhibition record in the League (6-0-1) with two games remaining in their preseason schedule.
The Canucks are one of three teams to play nine exhibition games - the most in the League. Carolina plays just four preseason games and the New Jersey Devils play just five- the fewest of the 30 teams.
Fortunately, the Canucks have been able to carry a large preseason roster, which has allowed them to dress a different lineup every game and is no doubt part of the team's success.
After releasing one player Friday, the Canucks travel with 37 players.

The Calgary Flames are closer to finalizing their regular season roster as they head into their final exhibition game with 28 players remaining on the preseason lineup.

The Flames are 3-2-1 in their six games this preaseason.

In the teams' last meeting, the Canucks narrowly beat the Flames 5-4 in a shootout at GM Place Monday night.

The young Russian, Sergai Sherokov is in the lineup tonight, after a knee
injury, will be interesting to see if he has the same 'jump' he had in his
games he played earlier, he was very exciting and obviously has lots of
offensive talent.
Grabner and Hodgson are playing again, Vineault/Gillis are giving those two,
lots of games, especially Grabner to help them adjust to the speed and
heavier going in the NHL, it seems at this point that both of them will 'not'
make the team, hodgson will probably go back to junior, and grabner will
go to manitoba, and should be ready next season, as there is definitely lots
of potential, it's just between the 'ears' that needs to advance. Not sure if
it was the back injury time, out of the lineup that caused Hodgson to take
a big step 'back', or if he 'just' isn't ready this year, but he definitely hasn't
looked very good, we'll see tonight if he has improved.
Tanner Glass is a player who has impressed me, and I'm sure, if not now, it
won't be long before he gets his chance with the Canucks.
Aaron Rome, defence, is also another good player, not sure what they will do
with him, probably manitoba, with some call ups I would think.

, 5:00 PM PT The Vancouver Canucks head into their final game of the preseason in Edmonton as they prepare to faceoff against the Oilers.

After playing the Calgary Flames just the night before in a 2-1 shootout win, Vancouver gets back at in at Rexall Place for a rematch of last Saturday's game, where the Canucks beat the Oilers 3-1 at GM Place.

Mason Raymond won it for the Canucks in the fifth round of the shootout in Calgary to improve their preseason record to 7-0-1 and look to improve that record with a win before the start of the regular season.

Roberto Luongo made 24 saves including all five stps in the shootout Saturday night in Vancouver's victory. His next appearance in net for the Canucks will be October 1st in the Canucks season opener in the regular season.

Cory Schneider will be the man between the pipes for Vancouver as he gets his final chance this preseason to show the coaching staff that he is ready to take the next step into the NHL.

Sunday night will be Schneider's second full game in the preseason. IN his first appearance, he earned a 5-4 victory in a shootout against the Flames at GM Place. He made 13 saves on 17 shots.

Henrik and Daniel Sedin are expected to be in the lineup in Edmonton, as well as Steve Bernier, Alex BUrrows, and Kevin Bieksa, who were all absent from Saturday's roster against the Oilers.

On the Oilers side, head Coach Pat Quinn emphasized that evalutations are still underway and Sunday's line-up will not necessarily reflect the regular season squad.

Edmonton cut eight players from their preseason roster Monday and now has 34 players remaining. The Canucks carry 37 players after making one cut Friday, prior to travelling to Alberta.

Don't think this one is on TV, can't find anything to indicate such.

OK, that's it for pre season, now on to the 'real' stuff for points.
Our first game is Oct 1 in Calgary.

We lost to Edmonton tonight in overtime, not a bad game, but cory schneider
definitely isn't the winner of the back up goaltender race, so it seems that we
probably will see Raycroft starting the season behind Luongo, and Schneider
should be off to Manitoba.

Sergie Sherokov looked very good again tonight, I would think he will be on the
team to start the season, he's not 19 as I earlier stated, he is 23 , and a very bright light indeed.
Aaron Rome also played very well, and is on the bubble, maybe the first
call up from Manitoba on defence.
Cody Hodgson played much better tonight, but probably too little too late, but
we will have to wait and see what the announcement is for him.
Tanner Glass played again tonight, not sure what his fate is, but we will
definitely see him called up from time to time.
Grabner I'm sure will be on his way back to Manitoba, but this has been a very
valuable training camp for him, he's learned a lot, and got better as he played,
and they gave him lots of games to help him know what is all about.
Pope and Funk are also nice players.

Enjoy the season everyone.

Something for both to be happy about. Vancouver played OK after a bad start and Calgary got the win. Of course it really doesn't matter what Calgary does in the regular season.

Calgary were all over us for half the game, then the tide began to change, and
canucks came on, and in the last period outplayed calgary but just couldn't put
the tieing goal in the net.
Two stupid penalties caused those first two goals, and calgary didn't take a penalty
till later in the game.
An empty netter made the score 5-3
These two teams will battle all season, and calgary has a better team this year,
with the additon of Bouwmeester, their defence looks very good, and they came
out like gang busters, maybe they were remembering last years first game when
we beat them 6-0 in general motors place.
They also have a better coach 'in' Brent Sutter.
All of the regular lines have to get use to playing with each other, as all through
the pre season, the lines were never like they would be on opening night.
Sherokov looks good for his very first game in the NHL, he will only get better.
The twins didn't get their game together till the last half of the game, and
burrows managed to pot a goal, right after having his stick chopped out of his
hands, picked it up, the puck came back to him, and he outfought kipprisoff
and got it in behind him.
Turned out to be a good game after all, but for the first half, I thought we
would be beaten badly, but no, they scratched their way back into the game.

And, I was happy to see Colorado defeat San Jose 5-2 tonight, so much for all
the talk about the power of the conference and the weakness of the conference.
The weakness won.

Well, if you're an avalanche fan, you will be happy right now, but canucks came out
on the short end of this game.

After these two starts for the canucks I think it's too bad they won so many games
during the pre season , and the pre season was very intense, every game, and now
that the season has started, it's almost like they have let down, and haven't started with the intensity they should, it looked that
way against calgary until half way through the game, and again today, as Colorado
were the doormats of the league last year, but, avalanche beat San Jose two days ago,
didn't allow them much of anything, and today, although we were all over them
early in the game, and their goalie stoned us, then colorado scored a goal totally
against the play, then they got a power play goal, which gave them lots of
confidence, and colorado played much better for the rest of the game, and, again
canucks took too many 'dumb penalties'.

'What the canucks are doing has absolutely nothing to do with past year canucks,'
as has been mentioned, those were teams of different players, different coaches,
different management and different owners. We must stay in the present, and
see this team for who they are, now, this season.

San Jose has top scoring players, and colorado held them down the other day,
so I think we should recognize colorado as a much better team this year, Wolski
looks great, and others, and the goalie has been stellar in both games.

Canucks have to get back to square one, take everyone much more seriously,
realize they aren't better than anyone else till they beat them a few times,
and play their next game like the 'underdogs', which creates better intensity.
We do have a good team, but now they have to prove it.

They looked so good in the pre season that it seems to have created a attitude
of false superiority, they have to get rid of that.
The first line had good intensity, twins and burrows, but the 2nd and 3rd lines,
definitely were lacking in anything dangerous, they must support that top
line, with good play of their own.

Looks like Detroit is going to lose their second outing as well, game just about
over.

I think we play Columbus at home on Monday.
