While I think it was a tad steep, Kessel is only 21 years old. If they had done this trade for a late 20's player, I would be more ticked off. As it stands, I will take a wait-and-see attitude. He could be just what the Leafs needed.
Plus, if the Leafs make the playoffs the picks they gave up will be average at best(next year's draft is apparently weaker than this year's by far).
Kessel is a great player, and will help the leafs for sure, and probably will be
a key player for many years.
I just hate to see those 1st rounders go, and they have lost 2 of them and a 2nd.
Cliff Fletcher started the leafs on their comeback, he made some key changes
before burke arrived, so I hope people don't forget that, and give burke all of
the credit.
They do that concerning anaheim, but it was Brian Murray who was mostly
responsible for that stanley cup winner, with the exception of Pronger and
Neidermeyer, and Neidermeyer wanted to play with his brother, who was
allready there, but the Pronger trade was a good one.
