I mean socialism the antithesis of liberty wtf? where do you even begin with this nonsense

socialism is literally more freedom, more freedom to choose, more equality, no oppressive oligarchies, that's liberty for you.

Elementary political science.

Socialism is the control of the means of production by gov't, and the distribution of wealth by same. That is in the most positive definition. As such, Big Brother owns all, and controls all, and distributes it as he sees fit. Read a little Orwell.

If you think socialism as co-operative control of society is even possible, then you are not dealing with the realities of human nature, and probably believe in Peter Pan and Neverland.

In the worst definition, socialism is a step on the way to the communist society, in which freedom simply does not exist.

Socialism has NEVER worked, anywhere it has been tried.

NO Socialism means the workers are in control not elitist rich corporate pigs who furiously masturbate even at the mere thought of making a dollar.

Socialism has worked quite well, not in the modern era albeit (never implemented). For instance the Native Americans has a successful socialist culture until capitalist greed brought over Europeans.. well we know the end to that story.

The military. The public education system. The Canadian public health system.

BAM! Too easy. They're called "ideological blinders." Look it up.

Ahh...we are not talking about moderation, a social welfare net. We are talking about a society where gov't controls the means of production, and the wealth thus produced.

there are many ways socialism can work and government controlling the production is only one way

socialism is a sane, natural system in the fact it requires you get what you need and not the excessive , mindless consumption that capitalism gives us. capitalism is a disease comparable to schizophrenia where the voices in your head tell you to buy things you do not need. capitalism also can not exist without exploitation. capitalism puts profit first before human or animal welfare. ask the third world sweat shop workers what capitalism does for them.

Excuse me??

Capitalism, when moderated by democracy, has made more people rich and free than any system ever.

It is actually amusing to listen to "progressives" who live in the west rail against capitalism, against Christianity, against colonialism, against freedom itself. It is self-destructive. It is insane. And it is the opposite of "progressive".

I would absolutely agree that third world sweat shop workers are exploited and often abused......and that they are often shockingly mistreated. However, without the jobs they have they would be starving. As those on the buying end, we have the power. If you are really concerned, simply be careful what you buy, and where it comes from..............

I just realized what thread this is..........we've gone far afield.

Actually, that's capitalism moderated by socialism. It's called a "mixed economy," and it's the model used by every non-sh*thole country on the planet.

Will you please try to get it through your thick skull that political systems and economic systems are two different things?

Sigh.

Mixed economies exist because the people demand a safety net, and vote for those that would supply same.

As for all the gifts we brought you, you're welcome.

Precisely. Nobody but you wants cutthroat, die-in-a-ditch capitalism. And you wouldn't either if you ever actually experienced it. Or thought about it.

As for all the gifts we brought you, you're welcome.
Y'know, you got Al Sharpton beat, hands down, in the self-righteousness department.

You gonna go fight the evil Muslims, chickenhawk? Or is your insistence that "we" fight them another case of your willingness to shed the last drop of somebody else's blood?

It's made exploiters and evil, psychopathic men rich mostly... why is the majority of the world's wealth owned by only a few people?

it's only self-destructive in your head because you don't acknowledge the importance of other countries outside of north america, or the world as a whole.
no it's our lifestyle that is self-destructive and unsustainable.

we're on the "buying end" because we threaten with violence... our puppet governments suppress any protest that advocate socialism ..

Compared to the Banksters income it is somewhat different, 0.002%. You try that test?

If I may add my sentiments here.

Isa:56:10-12:
His watchmen are blind:
they are all ignorant,
they are all dumb dogs,
they cannot bark;
sleeping,
lying down,
loving to slumber.
Yea,
they are greedy dogs which can never have enough,
and they are shepherds that cannot understand:
they all look to their own way,
every one for his gain,
from his quarter.
Come ye,
say they,
I will fetch wine,
and we will fill ourselves with strong drink;
and to morrow shall be as this day,
and much more abundant.

Zero, 1 oz ACV with baking soda on the days my feet begin to tingle to lower my bp by 10. You are the gullible swallowing all that is put before you.
You still have to thank me for being sensitive to your need by changing the avatar even though you had no clue what it was about, but then this is the real you on your best day.

Wiesel recounted his rescue from the concentration camp by the U.S. Army and said he remains grateful.
“We cried,” he recalled. “We discovered for the first time that we could cry.”
But in an interview that was published on the following day, May 7, on NBC New York, Wiesel said the opposite to reporter Gabe Pressman:
He told me about the day the American army came to liberate the prisoners,
How the prisoners “wanted to cry but they didn’t know how to cry… if you cry, you will never stop so they didn’t even do that.”
