Two Palestinian sources close to truce efforts said the talks are focused at present on swapping non-soldiers - meaning Israeli civilians, dual nationals, and foreigners, but no talks about the soldiers are underway.

The soldiers "have different types of prices," Hamas says.

One of those prices would be for Israel to "clear all prisons", meaning all Palestinians jailed in Israel.

(In 2011, Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit was freed after five years in captivity in return for freedom for 1,027 Palestinians held in Israeli jails for carrying out attacks against Israelis)

Anyone who is surprised by this 1. Doesn't know much about previous hostage releases with anyone, including Hamas and 2. just isn't paying attention period.

If your still focused on Hamas you're nowhere near grasping the reality of two US nuclear strike groups parked at either end of the mideast and stike group in the Baltic preparing to blockade Kaliningrad and St Petersburg. Then yet another in South China sea where Canadan navy and airforce are engaging Chinese fighters jets while tracking chinese nuke subs.

Well see where you really stand after Christmas.

Hamas deserves what they get.

People keep trying to put out there that anyone that doesn't support Israel 100000% is pro-Hamas and that's a blatant lie.

But yes, Israel SHOULD 'follow the rules', because Israel should - again - know better. But I guess too many bloodthirsty right wing wackadoo's don't care about any of that stuff. They just want Palestinians - Hamas or just anyone - gone.

Hamas ISN'T expected to follow the rules, because they ARE terrorists, they ARE sub-human fucking monsters that deserves the hell they get. Just because people don't say it every second sentence doesn't mean it's not the opinion.

Basically, people expect Israel to be civilized, or at least be more human than the terrorists, more understanding, etc.

Some are, thank goodness, but right now the ones that are equal to Hamas, are in control.

Why do so many leftists struggle to condemn Hamas? Why do so-called progressives make excuses for Jew-killing, misogynistic, gay-bashing Islamists? It’s a long and damning story. Here, Tom Slater traces the history of the Islamo-left, an unholy alliance between left-wingers and Islamists that has once again burst out into the open following the pogrom in Israel on 7 October.

Because some things shouldn't have to be said to be understood.

Like Terrorism is evil, wrong, disgusting, etc.

But not all Palestinians = Hamas. People would rather focus on the innocent's being murdered than the terrorists in Palestine.

Why do so-called progressives make excuses for Jew-killing, misogynistic, gay-bashing Islamists?

Why do you make excuses for Christian-hating, misogynistic, gay-bashing Jews?

It’s a long and damning story.

It is.

Here, Tom Slater traces the history of the Islamo-left,

Is that your new buzz word?

an unholy alliance between left-wingers and Islamists that has once again burst out into the open following the pogrom in Israel on 7 October.

Yes, because in your reality, if you don't side with Israel's right leaning, hateful government, you're a Jew hater!
