I was addressing right wingers (both Americans and Canadian wannabes) who insist everyone should have gun rights to protect against tyrannical government and criticize anyone (especially someone from the USA) who does not approve of gun rights. Since you are not a right winger, my challenge is not directed at you.
Furthermore, I am also not a right winger yet I STRONGLY approve of gun rights. Unlike the hypocritical and delusional right wingers here, I affirm the right of access to weaponry to all and remain consistent in the application of my principles. Right wingers do not. This is why I challenge them. While you are welcome to reply and render your own opinion, you cannot possibly speak for them and need not concern yourself with the issue I raised.

Ok, lets take fire extinguishers,life gaurds, crossing gaurds, first aid kits, and cellphones away.
No one, and I mean no one, is trying to tell teachers that they have to carry guns.
Not that I've heard of, anyway.
The proposal is to train and qualify teachers and staff that want to carry.
Volunteers.

Simply another way to avoid facing the truth of this situation.
Teachers are the last people who should be trained to shoot back! Being qualified for teaching doesn't qualify a person to handle guns and be good marksmen. Teachers are likely to be too emotionally connected to their students and may not be able to maintain a clear head. Better to hire one or two retired military people to perform that function. We have to keep the hazard in proper perspective. More kids are likely killed from being hit by a car on their way to school than will ever be shot in the classroom.
If we're going to arm them, can we at least arm them with carbines or shotguns?
Most people, even experienced shooters, couldn't hit the floor with a sidearm if they dropped it.
I'd hate to go up against a shotgun or rifle with a sidearm, and I've got some really good sidearms.

Now just for instance one of those teachers already stressed out had an exceptionally bad day and was carrying, lost control......how many of the little darlings could he/she/ being a well trained gun person. bring peace and order to his/her classroom?

You feel that people who bully and pester a kid 24/7/365 until they becoming a killer are innocent?
Been a long, long time since you've been in school obviously.
I was a teacher for 7 years. I hated it, because lifting people out of ignorance was the last thing they wanted us to do.
