Umm. . . this is crap. The quote is a lie. Feinstein never said that. And she wasn't talking about free speech, she was talking about a "shield law" that would allow journalists to refuse to disclose their sources.

You might call it an attack on the free press, but not on free speech. Further, Feinstein was talking about ADDING a shield law, which has never existed at the Federal level before. How can ADDING a new privilege that has never existed before be an "attack" on a free press?

You know what it is when you put a paraphrase in quotes? A lie.
