So barrel length less than 18.5", magazine of more than 5 rounds, "semi-auto" and "full-auto" settings, telescopic 4-position buttstock, and is a variant of the M4 Carbine. That Police Officer didn't look like an Aboriginal in the act of subsistence hunting...How can this possibly be justified in Canada let alone even in the same zip code as Justin Trudeau??? How can a Canadian (I'm assuming that the police officer is a Canadian by the Maple Leaf on his vest near his belt-line?) be trusted with such a thing? Thank Christ That's a "Patrol Carbine" & NOT an "Assault Style" whatever he calls them....or I'd have to believe that Trudeau is a hypocrite in a "Do as I say & not as I do sort'a thing as laws and rules are just for the peasants!"

I learn something new here almost daily.
We live in Canada , laws are written and enacted , not to make sense , not to reach an objective but to demonstrate that the governing party has Canadians interests at heart while accomplishing zero .

It's the hand gun ban that we should be talking about.

That's the big one.

Assault weapaons are easy pikins for the gummit.

Do you know how hard it is to get a license for a hand gun? It ain't easy and hasn't been since 1934. So legal hand guns aren't the issue because as already stated here, it's the smuggling of guns that's the issue - not legally held weapons.

But ideology trumps common sense with this government. Look how they screwed up & continue to screw up the covid-19 process and how the hell are we going to pay the debt as a result?

And you just ain't whistling "Dixie". As soon as Justin started handing out cash (without proof of need) about the second day of the pandemia we knew he was campaigning for the next election. I doubt if this debt will EVER be repaid and Justin had better hope and pray interest rates remain low. Meanwhile folks who have any savings had better start today just buying essentials in preparation for falling back in to a second occurrence of the Hungry 30s. It's coming!

You have defined the Harper government to a tee.

I'd donate my eye teeth right now to trade off the current charade for a return to Harper. We prospered during those years!

The mania over definitions.

You are hilarious! Of course if you actually listen to what JT and his ilk say, "definitions" are everythingAfter all, didn't he come up with "people kind"? What the hell does that mean?

Stating that "those people" need to understand what the Poppy means to Canadians is rather vague - but the Liberals took offense with the term "those" without really looking at the context of what was being said. Perhaps a better word could have been used but the meaning would have been the same in any event. The Liberals are "offended" at anyone stating anything that opposes their ideology or narrative anyway.

So ya Hoid, the "mania over definitions" is important because it's a way to control speech which is EXTREMELY important to the Liberals and those of the Left "persuasion". And as Canadians, it's our job to put a stop to the nonsense and challenge the stupidity.

Aw hoid - silly, silly, hoid. What you have just described fits the Liberals to a tee and Harper did much much more for the average Canadian than Trudean - Remember Trudeau said he was going to help the "middle class". Ya, right - help destroy the middle class is actually what he meant and he's doing a damn good job of it so far.

Sigh... some people's kids.

well obviously gun control is conflated with Trudeau Derangement Syndrome and the firing of Don Cherry.

It makes total sense when climate change is a hoax and only white people face discrimination.

This is not meant to be a statement about Covid-19, the Liberal government's way of managing the healthcare system has killed more people since their re-election than 80 years of 'assault rifles'.

Maybe we need to effectively ban the liberal government by never voting for them again?

To be fair, it's not just journalists. Down hereabouts, cops have shot people for having the following things in their hands:

Umbrella
Cane
Toilet plunger
Tripod
Hairbrush
The Holy Bible
Apron
Spatula
Mobile phone
Slice of pizza
Wii controller
Sandwich
Wallet
Keys
Prescription pill bottle
Bottle of beer
Ipod
Tattoo
Driver's license

and of course. . .

Hand

Just goes to show HOW CRAZY it has become to be a cop!

One wrong move by some criminal GOOF and panic hits - right before the bullets!

Defense Lawyers and their LIE-beral allies have MUCH to answer for!

We’re facing the greatest crisis of our lifetime.

The role of the Opposition is key to our system of Parliamentary democracy.

As history has proved time and time again, freedom, liberty, and democratic government are the surest path to human flourishing.

Canada’s democratic institutions should never be treated as an inconvenience.

Andrew Scheer, today.

Dead on.
