Michigan police say a 66-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the groin Wednesday while trying to adjust the gun in his waistband, MLive.com reports.
According to the news site, deputies from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a shooting in Pennfield Township, which is north of Battle Creek, at a little before midnight.
The officers determined the wound was self-inflicted.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics and firefighters and then was taken to a local hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
