You buy back as many as you can and you go after whatever remains

it would seem to be pretty straight forward

A lovely plan!

If you are a psychotic meglomaniac with no understanding of the right to personal property, the right to be free from punishment without trial (or criminal intent), to say nothing of the right to keep arms..........and you don't mind driving tens of thousands of firearms underground. In other words, both viscious and stupid.

Welcome back, btw.

Not sure why this particular buyback is any different than all the others.

They got something like 60k guns turned in in new Zealand.

Now they can worry about whatever is left.

It is not different.

It is just as ridiculous, counter-productive, and illegitimate in NZ as it is here.

Why?

Intuitively, you believe guns are bad, therefore less guns means less bad in the world.

But I think guns are not bad, any more than a hammer is bad. Guns are simply tools. Triggers do not pull fingers. So....it depends on who is holding the gun.

The thing that boggles the mind is how sincerely the left believe that the people (that they always yap on about defending or helping) are completely untrustworthy, and must be controled to the nth degree to make society safe.

It is puzzling, to say the least.

Good one- Perhaps you've imparted a piece of wisdom today to where it is badly needed!

I dont think Hoid trusts himself around guns. The temptation of violence must be pretty strong in him.

Idiotic to remove guns from average public. Criminals, yes, but how would you do that short of becoming police state and destroying people's liberties? Gov't would be micromanaging everyone's lives. That is called "oppression" and you can have it, I don't want it.

The first step to removing guns from criminals is to remove tem from the public, since thats where the criminals get them
