You might try doing a bit more research before declaring this as fact!! You may get a real shock when the newer stats come out. That is if the collection of proper stats on gun violence is ever reinstituted.

How The NRA Kills Gun Violence Research - Business Insider

Thanks again for another article of misdirection. The CDC got their study, it was commissioned by Obama. You won't find it mentioned by antirights advocates because it supports the sort of things that pro rights groups have been saying all along.

Just bought a new pistol carbine. .40 caliber. Sweet!

Just curious; what is a pistol carbine? A carbine is normally a shortened rifle. The early Winchester lever action rifles, the most famous being the later model 94 are considered carbines as opposed to the longer rifles of the 19th century era. There are also the M1 Garand and the M1 carbine of WW2 vintage. I have seen both, but not side by side, (and have fired neither), the former eats moose dropping 30.06 SPRG rounds where the latter shoots a much less powerful rabbit dropping .30 Cal. carbine round.

As an aside, I find it interesting that the media, and politicians classify the civilian Semiautomatic AR15 as an "assault rifle" and the nearly identical in appearance select fire, (capable of full auto fire) Colt C7 or 8 or whatever model to be issued to police forces as a "patrol carbine".

A "pistol carbine" is a carbine that chambers pistol ammo. This one has a shoulder stock and a 16" barrel (making it a long gun and legal in the U.S.), but fires .40 caliber pistol rounds. The long barrel gives it more power and range. The overall length of 32 inches (80 cm) makes it easier to handle.

Pistol ammo costs about 30-40% of rifle ammo.

That's the meeja for ya. One of the problems legislatures in the U.S. encountered in their rush to ban "assault weapons" is that there's no accepted definition, and the most important feature, selectable fire, is already banned.

That's why us cynics just call 'em "ugly gun" bans.

Up here, they call 'em "scary guns" bans. Which is funny. Take a standard .22 rifle and it's perfectly legal. Add some after marker cosmetics and it becomes a restricted weapon even though no change has been made to the rate of fire, capacity or muzzle velocity.

I'd like to get an AR-15ish weapon.
Good choice. Obviously you're familiar with it, ammo's reasonably priced, and it's not too expensive.

Do you have any of those stupid magazine capacity limits in Massachusetts? Here it's 10 rounds. Funny part is I can cross the border into Virginia (about 15 miles) pick up as many 30-round mags as I like, and bring 'em back. Perfectly legal.

But they're gonna STOP THE KILLING!

Oh yes we do have the magazine limit here in Massachusetts. I can change mags pretty quick anyhow.

And yes... if we ban these high capacity mags people will shoot them all off and eventually we'll run out of them. ;)

(Do you remember that comment?)

Heh-heh. A well-cared-for mag will last how long? A century or more?

Why not concoct yourself some of those ammonia hydrate bombs? Better yet, how about a grenade launcher and a few missiles . Have a hell of a time down at the gun range.
That would be illegal. Are you encouraging the acquisition and use of illegal weapons and explosives?
