Yeah man!

We should legalize prostitution too! It's their body!

People should be allowed to be naked in public! It's their body!

Legalize all types of pornography as well! People should be allowed to masturbate to whatever they want! It's their body!

Have a permissible attitude toward all lifestyle choices!
They are no consequences!

Nice to see you are finally coming around.

Why do you have such a problem with people having control of their own bodies?

Trick question. People already do have control of their bodies. Your question should be "why do you have such a problem with the law accommodating every single lifestyle choice including drug use and all possible sexually promiscuous acts?".

Do you honestly believe that people should be allowed to walk around naked and view child pornography?

If his god has a problem with it, he can deal with it.

By that logic, you could bring no charge against God for sending someone to hell.

Funny thing is, people in many countries walk around naked in public because they don't have the same sexual hangups that some North Americans do. Child pornography has nothing to do with what a person does to their body, it is about what they do to a child's body and that is a different kettle of fish.

By that logic, you could bring no charge against God for sending someone to hell.

Who the hell ever brought charges against a fictitious being or a god. Sometimes you really have to dig deep to come up with this nonsense, don't you? Have you quit smoking pot or something? If so, maybe you should go back to it.

You've never pondered how God of the bible (assuming he exists) could claim to be a loving creator but also send people to hell?

It's a pretty major intellectual obstacle!

The bible is an intellectual obstacle when you know the history of it, or at least what I know about it, which is considerable. There was no hell in the original texts put together by Constantine. It was added a few hundred years later by a pope (I forget which one at the moment).

Jesus warned us about hell!

Oh yeah right, I forgot that you conveniently claim that the dialogue of the bible is made up.

Quit hijacking Cliffy! Back on topic...

The graph in the OP shows that people's opinions towards marijuana is changing to favor it. Well I guess that's too bad because "the times" and "opinions" don't determine what's right and wrong!

Hate to tell you, but you're basing your opinion of what's right and wrong on the opinions of whatever religion you follow.

Harper says no decriminalization of pot on his watch

Prime Minister Stephen Harper says his government will never agree to the decriminalization of marijuana.

Harper's comments came Friday in Vancouver in response to a question at a brief news conference following an event at a downtown science centre.

"No, it will not happen under our government," Harper said. “We're very concerned about the spread of drugs in the country and the damage it's doing and as you know we have legislation before the House [of Commons] to crack down." This week, four former Vancouver mayors endorsed the Stop the Violence Coalition, which is comprised of former police officers, a judge, medical leaders and B.C.'s former chief coroner.

The coalition's founding principle is that regulation and taxation of marijuana would stop most of the violence associated with the drug trade and make pot less accessible to children.

Current Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson has said he agrees with the coalition's goals.

"We see the impact on the streets. We see the gang activity that's largely funded by the marijuana trade, a huge industry here in B.C.," Robertson said. "There's no tax revenue flowing from [it], so I think it's time for reform."

I think that statement is one of those floaters. Made to re-assure the core supporters and gauge the flap of the more moderate voter. Bottom line, if Harper thinks enough people support it and it will translate into votes next election, he will do it regardless of what he says now. Pretty standard politics.

We are coming to the end of the old school geri-vote. It's time to strike while the iron is still hot and plastic enough to keep from breaking a hip on the way to polling stations.

He has his hands full with the recent SCC decision on Med pot being taken out of Govt control as it is.
